Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2016-17
FPL is finally open and ready for business and so are we with a new edition of Bore Off. This will only be one of the many articles we will try and bring you over the coming weeks, all leading to GW1 and the beginning of another season. For any new members we welcome you to the site and we hope you enjoy this article. For the veterans, you know the drill. Cookie (United fan) hates Liverpool, Init (Everton fan) hates Liverpool and Kop (Liverpool fan) hates Liverpool. Think that is a fair assessment of all three. Well ok, having seen the prices and some of the options I have called back The Three Amigos from their summer vacation to get some early observations from them for questions that many of us are wondering about.
Who should we turn to at City? Is Cesc worth considering? And Giroud…of course, don’t matter what the question is about, it’s Giroud. So without further ado, let us get to our question and answer segment quickly so we can let Cookie go back to watching Love Island and complaining about Theo being out.

Morning all nice to be back.
My first quick draft what u think?
Morning Shanec. I like your team a lot. The RLC Carroll rotation is interesting. Time will tell if it works. That’s some strike force there to make up for it though
Cheers smash just a quick go at it. No doubt will change
Do RLC and Carroll rotate well then?
Yeah I think it’s alright. The quality of the players is more the problem
banjo
You could take a look at Swansea/Burnley/Newcastle. My latest draft I’m rotating 2 out of 3 (Mesa/Carroll with Walters and Gayle).
More basically Burnley and Newcastle are very handy to pair.
Cheers GP. I’ll check that out. I’ve got Gayle in there at the mo anyway, so that might work.
Thoughts on my second draft?

It’s good if you are content in using one of Carroll or RLC each week. The damning thing that normally happens is you pick the ‘wrong’ one to bench.
The same thing could occur with your GKPs. I would pick one strong one and use him. If you picked Foster you could downgrade Forster to 4.0M and have a million to use elsewhere.
A few good points in there to kick-start the season, thanks gents
Afternoon everyone. I love these articles.. thank you to all involved.
Can any Liverpool fans help me out… if Robertson is signed from Hull is it to back up Milner or to replace him at LB?
Hey Fergie,
Assuming we do buy Robertson I imagine he’s being brought in to compete with Milner. He’s certainly not the type of signing I would expect to be an automatic starter.
Milner did well for the majority of last season but as he’s not a full back he has his limitations.
Limitations has never stopped you guys before, you guys play Mignolet at keeper and Lovren at CB. 😉
Mito- ouch 2 footed straight in there as usual
I stopped paying attention to him a long time ago!!
Cheers Kop. Is Milner the kind of player that Klopp will find a place for in the team?
Trying to justify that 6.5m in fpl
Hopefully we make it through to the CL group stages. If we do I expect to see more rotation from Klopp this season. If Robertson settles in well we might see Milner in midfield from time to time but I wouldn’t count on it.
If we sign Robertson I would consider owning Milner in GW1 a gamble.
Thanks. Hopefully the Robertson deal.doesnt happen
Great read guys. Always fun to go through what you’re going through.. Hehe. Cheers to that. So, this is my first draft of the season. How does it look? Been out of touch for the whole 2 months. So, don’t have much info about the new players/ teams yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated..
That looks real solid Constantine! I am sure you will catch a little bit of flack for having double Spurs in the midfield, but I think that’s fine, both are solid options. I be a touch more concerned with Austin, still unsure about his minutes, but other than that, it looks good.
