Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18
The International break gives us all the first opportunity to sit back and assess how we have fared so far. For some it’s a time of quiet reflection, for others it’s time for a Wildcard! Either way it’s a nervous time for fantasy managers as they wait and see if their stars return in one piece from their journeys far and wide. This particular break also sees the transfer window close so much can change, players will be added, some will be waved goodbye. We’ve decided to take a bit of a break ourselves for a few days but before we do we have asked a few of our regular writers to reflect on their own seasons so far, their fantasy plans and also their take on the season in general. Between them Cookie, Mito and Kop have had a good degree of success in fantasy games in the past. Now ok, that may be in Fantasy Cycling, Fantasy MLS and Fantasy NFL but it all still counts yeah? Yeah? No?! Well ok, Mito and Cookie have anyway. Kop just seems to enjoy playing these days. But as long as he’s happy, we’re happy, and all that… Joking aside, these lot follow football day in, day out and you’d be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable or dedicated trio. So, let’s go see how their Fantasy PL seasons are going…

I was going to do a separate posts for the smaller clubs 😉
Poor Cardiff.
Adrien Silva – Sporting to Leicester (£27, yet to be confimed by FIFA, apparently)
DMC, would you consider him to be a direct replace for Drinkwater? Assuming the deal goes through.
Yep – same position and duties on the field, better in a few things (passing, agressive on the ball), worse in others (shot from distance) but two similar players all round I’d say.
We can ignore him so
Yeah – I don’t think he’ll offer much in fantasy terms. He does take a good penalty (86% conversion rate), but with Vardy there one would think that job is taken. Vardy has only taken a career total of 6 which is surprising.
He does score the odd goal from open play and with great class but not as regularly as we need. You can see one of those from 3m40ss here: http://www.vsports.pt/vod/37821/m/361784/vsports/ddf8519e7c0190260217794e4faa9f6f
KW – I think you are right. I based my comment upon what info Sky Sports News gave out 2/3 days ago which had impressive goals and assists. Besides what you say about goals which I have also seen the stats of. He has a terrible number of red/yellow cards. He is still VERY highly thought of but not for me in FF. I withdraw my vote of confidence.
He’ll probably score a hat-trick on debut now
He’s an odd one I’ll say. When in form – which he isn’t atm – he can be very useful to any team. Whether that reflects into fantasy points I doubt it. He’s very physical which will help him in England and he’ll probably top the charts on balls recovered. He has a good shot from distance too and he knows how to make the perfect pass. A lot will depend on where Clement will play him. If he puts him in dmc I wouldn’t bother. But, if he’s a little more up the field (box to box) he can produce the goods. Watch list form the off though, of course.
Looking at the Swansea squad I think Sanches will be pushed further forward
Well, not much further than the “8” position. He can’t do wings and or play in the whole, lacks speed and technique, respectively, for those.
We need to see what he does with Bony in there too now. Actually, Bony looks the business at £6.0.
Bony looked awful last season. I wonder how old he really is
Yeah I see what you mean, but he wasn’t top dog at Stoke and he will be at Swansea, where he has already excelled. I’m not saying we should buy him for GW4 but if he hits the ground running he seems reliable enough. That’s for those of us who are already playing with the 3rd cheap striker approach anyway.
Hughes hardly picked him for Stoke.
The big disadvantage is the lack of Siggy creating for him – if Swans can find someone to set Bony up he’ll be a decent choice I think, relative to his price.
Hi all
I would just like to get your thoughts on who the first choice RB will now be for Spurs?
Ryan, I’d expect Aurier to be first choice.
