Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18

The International break gives us all the first opportunity to sit back and assess how we have fared so far. For some it’s a time of quiet reflection, for others it’s time for a Wildcard! Either way it’s a nervous time for fantasy managers as they wait and see if their stars return in one piece from their journeys far and wide. This particular break also sees the transfer window close so much can change, players will be added, some will be waved goodbye. We’ve decided to take a bit of a break ourselves for a few days but before we do we have asked a few of our regular writers to reflect on their own seasons so far, their fantasy plans and also their take on the season in general. Between them Cookie, Mito and Kop have had a good degree of success in fantasy games in the past. Now ok, that may be in Fantasy Cycling, Fantasy MLS and Fantasy NFL but it all still counts yeah? Yeah? No?! Well ok, Mito and Cookie have anyway. Kop just seems to enjoy playing these days. But as long as he’s happy, we’re happy, and all that… Joking aside, these lot follow football day in, day out and you’d be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable or dedicated trio. So, let’s go see how their Fantasy PL seasons are going…

In other news Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Joe Hart will start for England as he believes him to be England’s best keeper!!!!!

Southgate is clueless. With how he’s performing I’m surprised he made the squad

And round and round in circles we go…. Why can’t these people see what’s blinding obvious to everybody else? He was embarrassingly horrendous in the last tournament, horrendous in Italy last season and I don’t think he’s saved a shot yet this season. I like Southgate but he’s just gone down in my estimation a lot with that statement and lack of judgement.

This transfer window has been an absolute shambles. The entire EPL is now weaker. Our best example of a truly world class superstar and fantasy football god has been lost to some bull5hit overseas league. And its not even for the $100M+ fee that a player of his stature deserves. It’s a fekkin loan deal! A loan!! Craziness. He can now run down his contract and leave for a free or a sub-$100M price next season. It’s the fans of his club i feel most sorry for. They adored that guy. And their life was hard enough already. Most of them live in low budget housing and share a bedroom with their mother brother cousins and often suffer injuries when their knuckles drag on the pavement. This sucks. This totally utterly sucks balls. I’m actually crying as i type this. I’ll miss you Bojan.

Don’t think I’ve ever known everything to be agreed before and a medical completed only for the player to back out? That seems a bit odd. Did he fail it and this is just a cover? They were discussing medicals on 5Live before with the former West Brom physio and failing them came up in discussion and how it’s handled publicly. This was prior to the Barkley news too.

What do we think of this one? He’d be joining fellow country man Fuchs in that defense but does it affect captain Morgan or Maguire?
