Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18
The International break gives us all the first opportunity to sit back and assess how we have fared so far. For some it’s a time of quiet reflection, for others it’s time for a Wildcard! Either way it’s a nervous time for fantasy managers as they wait and see if their stars return in one piece from their journeys far and wide. This particular break also sees the transfer window close so much can change, players will be added, some will be waved goodbye. We’ve decided to take a bit of a break ourselves for a few days but before we do we have asked a few of our regular writers to reflect on their own seasons so far, their fantasy plans and also their take on the season in general. Between them Cookie, Mito and Kop have had a good degree of success in fantasy games in the past. Now ok, that may be in Fantasy Cycling, Fantasy MLS and Fantasy NFL but it all still counts yeah? Yeah? No?! Well ok, Mito and Cookie have anyway. Kop just seems to enjoy playing these days. But as long as he’s happy, we’re happy, and all that… Joking aside, these lot follow football day in, day out and you’d be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable or dedicated trio. So, let’s go see how their Fantasy PL seasons are going…

Bony to Swansea & Llorente to Spurs both confirmed.
Looks like nothing doing re Mahrez, Coutinho, Alexis, van Dijk. Though as I understand it the Spanish window shuts tomorrow.
DMC
And the Portuguese only at midnight tonight!! We should ring Alexis before the Chile game starts!
inittowinit
Yeah, anyone hoping to go to Spain can still do so tomorrow until roughly midnight.
DMC
Jesus ahead of Aguero, Icardi ahead of Aguero…
inittowinit
Awkward day at work for VVD tomorrow then
DMC
Indeed. Is there room for him in Spain? If not, something’s gotta give and I suspect that thing is Stephens and Yoshi. Hummm
DMC
Apparently Fuchs started following Sporting’s twitter…
DMC
Cruel, to Ryan.
Milburn
On the plus side Newcastle’s low wage bill now looks fantastic!
Cookie
Oh well at least Ashley will be happy!

Did Brighton not sign a new keeper during the summer?
DMC
Not sure they did. What I did notice is that Krul is priced at £4.0 so he could be a viable option should he usurp Ryan’s spot.
Does anybody know if he was already in the game (newcastle) at £4.0 or is this a new addition?

I think the best deal on Deadline Day was Renaldo Sanches (MF)to Swansea On loan fo 1 year cost £2m – he could be a fantastic FF player and it will be very interesting to see what price he is given
Cookie
he’s been priced at 5mln in FPL Colonial.
colonial
get in there Cookie!
Kop Warrior
Colonial,
I’m sure Sanches will be a good signing for Swansea but I’m not sure about him from a fantasy football point of view. He’s only scored 6 goals in total and 3 of those were in the Portuguese 2nd division.
KI
No disagreement about the overall stats, but what of Sanches’ dominant performance for Portugal at the Euros, while CR7 was acting the prat?
Kop Warrior
From an FPL point of view you don’t get points for dominant performances.
Mito21 @TheLegendMito21
He was in fine form then, recently he played for the U21 team and he wasn’t very good, wasn’t even a sure starter.
DMC
He was poor at the U21 and that’s because he lacked match fitness. Expect some of that now too.
Don’t know what KI is on about CR7 acting the prat though.
Mito21 @TheLegendMito21
Maybe he didn’t like Ronaldo’s management style? 😉
DMC
Ah! That one! Yeah, he was acting the prat in that instance but funnily enough that’s Renato’s most uninspired performance in that tourney. He got subbed off by the one that did dominate proceedings afterwards: that man Eder!
Ronaldo did well and played a major part throughout the tournament.
