Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! GW8 The European Edition
Welcome to the Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! GW8 The European Edition article. Another international break, another bore-fest for FPL managers everywhere. Just as we begin to build some momentum and look forward to bouncing from one weeks ecstasy to the next’s disappointment we are cruelly curtailed again. What it does allow us the chance to do though is to pause and reflect on our performance so far. Have we made the right choices, are our teams headed in the right direction, do we have plans laid out or are we basically just winging it week to week? They’re probably questions most serious FPL players ask themselves on a weekly basis and so we thought we would take this international break as a chance to actually ask those questions, and more, to some our own resident writing team. What follows is their take on their own season so far, their plans ahead and their thoughts on how things may pan out in general, as well as the usual few teasers at the end! We had six volunteers and they coincidentally, and conveniently, managed to split into two obvious groups in this the Ryder Cup season. One being European based and the other being US based. The USA contingent beat their European rivals to the punch for the 2nd time in a week and got theirs in first the other day, here’s the take on it from ‘our’ side of the pond. ‘Our pond’ 😉
Great article chaps! Very enjoyable reading.
Swirly, everyone loves a farter.
Tekkers, you crack me up. And i admire your honesty.
Kop, i’m not talking to you any more.
Thanks guys, appreciate it during the slow international break weeks although I’m secretly looking forward to the England – Malta game as this finally looks like a minnow who we may just beat, technically Swirls has the highest rank so I’m going to proclaim this a big win for the Europeans.
Bloody Maltese arrogance 😉
Yeah I know but when it comes to supporting England common sense went out the window years ago so I’ve been having to make do with the ‘Blind Faith’ tactic, it did take a massive hit after Iceland but if we can go through the Scotland game undefeated I’m pretty sure I’ll be proclaiming us world beaters once more. (Kudos to those who see what I did there 😉 )
A weak Scotland / Proclaimers gag?
I’m pretty sure you missed what I did
Yeah, this pretty much sums that up
Internationals are just broing now, England are depressing. We need a good manager for starters, look Even Newcastle in the championship have Rafa, who have we got… And the FA are just a bunch of old men who are totally clueless and out of touch
No offence to any old people unless your affiliated with the FA
Elle just turned in his grave
Hi BMT, welcome to the site. I agree. I can muster no excitement for England whatsoever. I’ve just come back from football and not one of them even knew for sure what day the game was on. That says a lot. We used to plan days out around England games. Even friendlies! Ok so mostly it was just an excuse for a piss up but even so I remember being genuinely excited about the games too. Shearer, Gazza etc etc.
Then again maybe it’s just because we’re getting old. Hang on… #bastard
Guys,
What’s going on with Jakupovic?
Hey Jonathan – he’s lost his spot to Marshall.
The PILF query was a hoot!!! 😛
