Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! GW8 The European Edition
Welcome to the Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! GW8 The European Edition article. Another international break, another bore-fest for FPL managers everywhere. Just as we begin to build some momentum and look forward to bouncing from one weeks ecstasy to the next’s disappointment we are cruelly curtailed again. What it does allow us the chance to do though is to pause and reflect on our performance so far. Have we made the right choices, are our teams headed in the right direction, do we have plans laid out or are we basically just winging it week to week? They’re probably questions most serious FPL players ask themselves on a weekly basis and so we thought we would take this international break as a chance to actually ask those questions, and more, to some our own resident writing team. What follows is their take on their own season so far, their plans ahead and their thoughts on how things may pan out in general, as well as the usual few teasers at the end! We had six volunteers and they coincidentally, and conveniently, managed to split into two obvious groups in this the Ryder Cup season. One being European based and the other being US based. The USA contingent beat their European rivals to the punch for the 2nd time in a week and got theirs in first the other day, here’s the take on it from ‘our’ side of the pond. ‘Our pond’ 😉
Thoughts on this WC team? Expensive defense but there’s a lot of attacking and CS potential there though!
Hey Pancho I really like this team but would be concerned with GK situation it’s a hit waiting to happen. But rest look good if Capoue can find a bit of form again. 😉
Pancho
I really like it.
I see where Silvers is coming from with the goalkeepers but Pickford will be assured of keeping his place surely?Let’s face it, Mores would be crazy to take him out.
There you go last weekend, 6 points WITHOUT a clean sheet. That’s impressive!
I would have a Lukaku exit plan (to Costa) in place just to be safe.

Hi Pancho, I’d actually question the overall need for a WC here. Looking at what you’ve switched it feels like you’re doing it to simply add Deeney, Son and Walker and some like for likes elsewhere. Your current team looks fine and you may be able to achieve the above over a couple of weeks anyway with the odd hit?
With the current Capoue condition, I might wanna have a better midfielder. Snodgrass is good
Plus 6.2 and 4.0= 10.2 for Kos’ and Grant/Pick
But how about 5.5 + 4.5= 10 for Cech and a Stoke/Sunderland defender if any.
Sorry.. i repost again..what should i do with current team?
Balance : 0.2
Ft : 1 only
Tq all

I would get an Arsenal midfielder definitely. Looking realistically, maybe Firmino to Walcott?
+1
I would though do Antonio to Wally if it’s affordable.
Or else Flemingo to Wally
Solid team XHURT nothing needed here although I might have started Firmino over Court tough one but a very good team.
Thanks all…
Morning, thoughts on what I should do with this team? I have 2 FT and 0.2m
Team is in great shape.
I can’t see a direct swap but I would suggest you save 1 FT.
Your team doesn’t need two fixes
Nothing at the moment. Wait until the internationals are over.

The only thing I would consider would be finding a better replacement for John Stones because he is in a team not keeping clean sheets and his manager has shown that he will rotate him.
Good squad and you look like you are in a strong position. I hope the international matches are kind to you.
Swirly Tekno and Kop; well done guys. Wonderful read.
Btw, anyone know what’s up with Sterling? Yellow flagged? How’s the concern?
Hi nishant
Pulled out of the England squad with a minor calf injury. Been reported he will be fit for the Everton match.
Extremely sorry for a very late response. Thank you GP. It’s a great piece of information. Sterling injured would have been one big headache. All well now
Many thanks Init for putting this together. Also thanks for the 3 participants, well 2 of them. Tekkers….no words.
