Grab, Avoid or Bore-off! – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo 01-05-2014 00 42 50To help you decide or just confuse you a bit more, we have asked 3 of our writers to pass judgment on what players are needed for this double game-week and what players are better left out of the fray. We hope this is a simple straight forward formula that can assist you in your decision making as we near the dead line.

Grab – You need this player on your squad. On the Def/Keeper categories if they select Grab, they will give us a name or two from said team. Eg. Grab-De Gea

Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.

Bore off – If you have him play him, if you don’t have him don’t bother getting him. Really not worth the extra effort.

    I haven’t had a chance to get on all week and as a result ive no transfers done so ive missed the early prices…the upside being I’ll now wait for all the team news….with Silva back doing some small amount of training on Tuesday and an outside chance of playing Sat I still have him….but as always id appreciate yer advice

    Mannone(Boruc)
    Coleman/Azpi/Bruce(Ward)(Parr)
    Silva/Mata/Ramsey/Coldback(Eriksen)
    Rooney/Aguero/Suarez

    with 1FT and 0.2mil ITB I was looking at the following
    Coleman to Demichelis
    or
    Coleman & Silva to Kolarov & Yaya for -4
    or
    Ramsey & Eriksen to Yaya and 4mil mid for -4

    any other options

    • i really think you should go for a united defender in place of coleman.
      then if you want, you could also do the silva – yaya switch.

        • Well he is 0.1 than Vidic.. Could that be important?

          I’m going into the DGW with AJ and Nasri, and no Mata, could you people have bored off some other players please. Already taking a -4 for Vidic/Jones and Aguero!

        • It’s between Jones & Vidic for me, I just need to decide which one!!

        • Yeah me too, Evra is too expensive for me.. Vidic has the goal-threat in the box, but Jones at RB has the mobility to provide crosses and such..

        • Kop: Another question quick.

          I can do Baines+Nasi -> Vidic/Jones + Yaya Toure, or
          Baines + Sturridge -> Vidic/Jones + Aguero.
          Thoughts?

          Boruc, Mannone
          Baines, Cahill, Zabaleta, Collins, Chester
          Nasri, Eriksen, Ramsey, Mutch, AJ
          Sturridge, Suarez, Rooney.

        • Baines & Sturridge to Jones/Vidic & Aguero could work.

  4. Great Article Guys I’m faced with a decision between Ramsey and Amalfitano. Any thoughts?

    • To avoid confusion I have both and can’t decide which to play! Any thoughts from anyone?

      • Tough call Tomo, probably go with Ramsey but could honestly go either way. Talk about sitting on the fence!

        • Cheers Calvin I’m going to be on the fence until 11:29 on Saturday and then immediately regret the decision I expect! I can feel a coin toss coming on.

    • a punt on amalfitano could work out.
      maybe it’s just wishful thinking but i feel ramsey’s gonna blank this week.

    • Daboyo I’d play Eriksen over Colback, he hasn’t done anything of note for over 10 GWs.

      Silva to Nasri would be a good move, or Yaya if you can afford him by taking a hit. Depending on when you bought Coleman you might be able to do Coleman and Silva –> Jones and Yaya for example?

    • @Daboyo, my first inclination is to go for Demi and Yaya by dropping Coleman & Silva, but I am sure you are just short. Damn! I hate to recommend Phil Jones because I am not completely sure of him starting both games, but if you want Yaya that might be the way to make it work. Vidic is also an option, but he may or may not play both also. Very unpredictable right now when it comes to how Giggs will rotate or not rotate in a double.

        Ill wait to hear about Silva before dropping him but I think I can do
        Coleman and Silva to Kolarov and Yaya…..not ideal re Kolarov…

        re Coleman my resale value is 5.9 as i have him for ages…..so im tight on funds……

        I was considering on just doing Coleman to Demi and take my chance on Silva playing….but going without Yaya could hurt bigtime

  6. Hi guys, has Bardsley just lost his place or has he been injured ?

    • Suspended then lost his place.

      • Yep. He was suspended for City & CFC. Sunderland played well without him so Poyet gave Vergini another go vs Cardiff when Bardsley was eligible to be back. It might be hard for Bardsley to regain his spot as long as Sunderland is getting positive results.
