Grab, Avoid or Bore off!

Our first installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2015-16 season is ready. For those new to the site, it is a simple question and answer segment that covers everything from the serious to the absurd. So why do we call it that? Tradition, is the easy answer as we basically have veered so far off course that we look like a Tiger Woods tee shot. So glad to get the fellas back together as they offer their opinions on everything from going without Haz & Kun to Giroud’s choice of underwear. So without further ado, let’s ask our “experts” some questions on the minds of many and some on the minds of none.

First draft, how does it look?

@MayAr, I like Saints fixtures but I don’t trust Tadic. He really stunk it up fantasy wise after his hot start. After Saints hammered Sunderland last year he was never the same. However if you have a gut feeling about him, he is still quality and he might get off to the start last season in the first 8 weeks.
Hooper doesn’t start, but I assume you know that. Bennett is unlikely to play and considering that Mariappa is also and Cook might be the odd man out in the fight for one of the starting spots at CB, I think your defence needs some work.
Kun unlikely to play GW1, so just be ready to change that out if necessary.

Guys I am going to add the 4.5 GK chart under the fixture tracker tab under Tips. That way we all have a quick reference point when needed, should be up in a couple of minutes.

Cheers Mito will be easier to find it now.

        Mito,

Many thanks for the work. Whenever I get around to WCs, this is a major issue. You folks think of damned near everything.

      • KI says:

A general question. A number of the proposed teams have gone for 4.0 GKs, and a few for Hoban as a 4.0 defender,as well as virtual throwaway fifth mids and third forwards . I wonder how folks will adjust what are great attacking lineups for typical games to take advantage of the “Bench Boost” tab? Is the assumption that it’s for DGWs, and that they’ll only happen after Christmas (and we’ll have played at least one WC by then)? Curious.

        • @Ki, my thought process is that all that will certainly be better used after the 2nd WC. By then we will have accrued enough money to actually have people on the bench that are capable of doing something more than 0-2 points. When the bank roll grows the ability to use any of our chips for a higher amount of points grows. By January we will start to see teams with 8 good players in the attacking area and a bench with defenders that we are not embarrassed to play. We can’t set up all the chips by playing the WC the week before that, but we can certainly set up our teams to be close.

Just for anyone that wants to know Payet they new West Ham winger has scored 2 goals. May have to have a real think about Payet.

    Which combo is better?

    1) Rooney, Yaya, Ozil, Henderson
    Or
    2) Kane, sterling, Walcott, Milner
    Or
    3) Benteke, Silva, Walcott, Chadli

…..feel free to chop and change urself.

I know this team is a bit top heavy, but a bit of experiment never hurts.
Maybe if sidwell(heard he scored today) and Anya could secure a starting spot, they could be rotated?

      MattX says:

It really is experimental mate. It’s a great forward line and midfield isn’t too bad but I’m not sure about Sidwell or Anya. Defence is really weak however, Taylor I’m not sure will play and Leicester have a new manager so don’t know how they will respond to him.
