Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

Grab, Avoid or Bore off!

Welcome to our second installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2015-16 season. For those new to the site, it is a simple question and answer segment that covers everything from the serious to the absurd. So why do we call it that? Tradition, is the easy answer as we basically have veered so far off course that it barely has any resemblance to the original format. Thanks to our members for some of the ideas on the questions, we tried to include most of them or some semblance of them. Well enough of the small talk from me, let’s see what the girls have to say about a number of topics ranging from FPL dilemmas to who is cuter?

  1. Epic!! Love this article boys. Thanks for the time and effort.

How is everyone? Kun breaking hearts again?

  2. Here is my new WC team, how is it?
Injury to kun comes as good news, now I can get silva and KDb, maybe downgrade one for Kun later on.
Dilemmas are Walcott or mane or Payet?
And 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 (after kuns injury, I’m leaning towards 352 as there aren’t many decent stickers on offer, but plenty of inform mids)

    • Anyone?

    • This team lacks Payet.

Zabs > Kompany if he is fit. Too much rotation at fullbacks.

Is Hutton nailed? Im not sure.

      Rest looks decent.

    • Yep I’d agree with B here on Payet over Wally but then again give the front 8 you can afford him to suddenly miss the odd match.

I’d maybe leave Zaba altogether simply because it’s one more barrier to overcome if Aguero suddenly reappears and you want him back sharpish unless one of the ones to go would in such a scenario would be Silva / KDB.

  3. Argh, Aguero injury has put a real dampener on the past GW.

I’ll probably make changes after the Bou game only now. Would give me time to assess the options… Bony, Lukaku, Martial, Sturridge, Costa etc. Would likely even know how long he is out for this time.

If he only misses Bou and Utd, might even keep him.

    • Thank you for letting us know about your plans. Much appreciated.

      • Dick.

        • Hahaha Simms. I think he is called B. 😉 Dick is the other guy and the manager that just left Sunderland. ^o^

        • Some people just cant see me spreading positive vibes.

        • In some cultures being called a dick is a positive thing, B. Anyway, Simms made me laugh, hahaha. So indirectly you are spreading positive vibes. ^o^

        • In FF247’s culture, dick means a dick.

But i dont blame Simms, he has made an early transfer, so just frustrated.

        • My early transfer wasn’t Aguero related, Sagna > Monreal.

Least Raz got a laugh ????

        • Yip mate, I got a laugh. Doctor told me not to laugh too much though. So be careful. Hahaha.

        • Must admit I laughed as well Simms! Sorry B, you did ask for that smile

  4. Apparently Big Sam is in talks with SAFC, would we be more willing to look at Sunderland defensive coverage if he gets the job?

    • Probably, but I’d want to give it a few games.

O’Shea had a great game against the Germans last night, if only he could do it on a Saturday afternoon.

      • Funnily enough I’ve already brought him in, it’s a move that was restricted by budget options rather than optimism in the SAFC defenders but I don’t mind holding him for 10 or so games to see how this one plays out.

    • I’d give it GW9 to see how they’re setting up. Gw 10 is Newcastle at home laugh

      • There’ll be a good chance that I’ll be starting one from both teams for that titanic affair.

    • Only 5 Clean sheets & 3 wins in last 19 games at West Ham. Didn’t win a single game when the oppo scored. Simply awful.
If he takes Nolan in that’s a definite NO NO NO.

      • I wouldn’t touch them for FPL purposes but I certainly wouldn’t bet against him keeping them up.

  5. Hey crap news Kuns injury looks like he will defo miss nk 2 Gw possibaly more Sat in the New Tr3 outside Preston waitint for my car Shame I can’t drink

    • Yes, it’s a real shame. It’s made worse by the fact that none of the other expensive strikers look like a good investment.

Here’s a question for everyone: Assuming that you wanted to park a big chunk of the Aguero money for a few gws, who would you choose?

      Costa
      Sturridge
      Rooney
      Kane
      Giroud

      • Costa – out of form…
Sturridge-maybe..but will wait to see whether Klopp thinks the same…
        Rooney – nope! + carrying a small injury…
        Kane – unsure…buying a cat in a bag…he’s about to explode…yes….but when ?!?
Giroud – nope..had enough of the Frenchman !

      • Los Machos

I’ll throw in Pelle and Martial. Those two and Sturridge I will be looking at probably.

So a fit Sturridge of those I think.

        • Add Bony in there as well IMO GP. If Aguero is indeed out for a long period of time, he could be a great cheaper option into City’s attack with great fixtures and world class midfielders giving him high amounts of opportunities

        • Agreed GP, it’ll be Pelle for me.

        • Kop,

How about a cheeky upfield punt on Shane Long???

      • Okay, lets go through all them options then –
Costa – Chelsea and himself in shit form. Villa at home tho could get him going.
Sturridge – Tough fixtures, proven FPL scorer getting back into the groove of things, doubt with how Liverpool will play with new manager.
        Rooney – NO!
        Kane – NO!
Giroud – Only if Wally was to get injured.

So, out of those 5, it would be out of Sturridge or Costa, and I would probably go Sturridge. However, I think Pelle and Bony would be better options tho and that it would be worth banking the cash by going with either one of them 2 and going in with a 3-5-2 formation. Just my cents

      • Are you serious with the Giroud and Rooney suggestions? Or you just mentioned them because they belong to two top teams?

        • I think he just mentioned them because they were in the 5 next most expensive players forwards after Aguero. I’d take Bony, Pelle, Sturridge and even Costa and Martial over those 2 any day

        • Havent you learned anything this season than? Price is definitely not something that should influence the points. Marez, Payet, Vardy etc.

Ill happily take Pelle or Ighalo over the players that are mentioned. laugh

        • Exactly, Nosaj! I put them on the list, well, because they help keep the Aguero money in one place. I still remember last season, when Aguero got injured and I spread the money around. Then he came back, I couldn’t find a way to buy him back, and QPR happened.

        • @Los Matchos – sounds logical…yep…

  6. aguero injured, i will wait n see if its long term. But who to take in his place pelle(i alrdy have mane in my team)? lukaku or sturidge?

    • Pelle !

      • even if i already have mane? double on soton?:s

        • Yup they started poorly but right now are looking really good and have really good fixtures!

        • yeh soton are in a good form and have nice fixtures, but im hezitating between pelle and sturidge given the fact that i have mane from soton..

    • Yeah Pelle is where I’m going to.

      • y not sturidge?

        • New coach + injury prone also against Spurs than Soton and Chelsea after that ! If I were you would get Pelle and remove Mane next week for (have to see ur mid) so many options in mid 😉

        • gomes
          nyom kolarov evans
          mata mane silva payet
          kun martial vardy
          bench: hennessey davies fletcher smith

          1.5£ in bank 1ft

      • If one were inclined to hold Aguero, assuming the injury is only 2 gw, do folks think a price hit would be part of the cost? I’ve noticed that high-priced help tends to come with pretty inflexible prices, I guess because it’s so expensive to move them.

        • You can get Arsenal mid Sanchez or Ozil as they do have nice fixtures after getting Pelle

        • wht about kun>pelle and mata>sanchez or walcott?

    • i wud say, stick with aguero for whatever time he’s out for..

      • i will lose cash and 1striker, i thnk i will get him back in my team when he’ll be fit again.. If its a short term inj, i will keep him..
