Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2019-20

Guess who’s back, back again….

With the fpl season getting closer and closer to starting, it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered the three originals, as is tradition for each first edition of the new season. As always a new season brings new hope. Hopefully this article helps a little, but not too much.

Looking back through the first Bore Off from last season, I noticed that the Amigos had many things right. All 3 had Salah as the first person in their team sheet, they were all for the LFC double up in midfield with Mane, which would have worked out well for any manager who did. Cookie and Kop were talking about a back four and in Cookie’s case he was talking up a 5 back. Cookie was ahead of his time! Init had his eye on Milivojevic and Cookie said this “Mili is obviously great for a penalty every time Zaha falls over”. Kop talked about a possible golden boot for Auba and was hopeful that Allison would sign for LFC.

Hopefully they can replicate some of their good calls for this upcoming season, let’s see what they have to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

What are the thoughts on Kane I have never been a fan but you can’t argue with his stats

      Kralin says:

Two good home games out of the first three makes him very appealing. However I can’t manage him with my current defensive arrangments – have gone for Sterling. Plus I’ll be captaining Salah in GW1 (and 2 probably).

I may bottle it and go for him but at the moment he’s one for the future for me.

Yes Kralin I’ve been toying with Wilson & Duffle but King is a good option at 6.5m his stats are good a lot of touches in the box & shots

I think the Wilson/Fraser duo is a good attacking one – which is why I’ve gone for it. But for sure, King is not a dud option at all and if I didn’t have Wilson I would almost certainly have him in my side for the start of the season.

Can’t decide…Lloris or Pickford? Who would you go with? Fancy Lloris but his GW2 against MC not so hot.
Would love to get Zouma, but waiting to see when he starts.
Here is my team for now. Kralin if you are around, please take a look. Appreciate all comments.

      Hi Bees

I reckon if I was you I would downgrade Wilson to King and upgrade Coleman and Lloris to Ederson and Digne.
Rest of the team looks good.

Thanks Horse. I am like Kralin, a little leary of Everton. I think Coleman will mostly do as well as Digne (if the end of last season is anything to go by).
I am not so into King…I think Wilson a much stronger option. Would love to have Ederson, but maybe after WC.
        All the best to you.

        • Kralin says:

I’m hoping to get away with not owning / observe Everton in GWs 1 and 2. Their fixtures are really nice after that (if things are looking sunny for them form wise).

There seems to be a mixture of anticipation / anxiety / overthinking about Everton’s defence – by me, anyway. I’ve decided to stay away for now – it could change – and see how they get on before committing.

Personally I’d keep Wilson. Jota’s fine – have thought about him myself – the midfield looks good. Can’t really argue with the team Bees. Mine doesn’t differ much. I’ve gone for a cheap goalkeeper and have Perez instead of Tielemans. A Watford attacker. Robbo instead of VVD.

      • bees393 says:

Agree Kralin. I too am not so sure about Everton. They do have great match ups, so hoping that all will be well. At least with the Watford attacker, it is easy to switch to Jota if needed. WOL have a lousy start, so you may be better off with him. It is all such a guessing game.
        Thanks for your input.
