Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2019-20

Guess who’s back, back again….

With the fpl season getting closer and closer to starting, it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered the three originals, as is tradition for each first edition of the new season. As always a new season brings new hope. Hopefully this article helps a little, but not too much.

Looking back through the first Bore Off from last season, I noticed that the Amigos had many things right. All 3 had Salah as the first person in their team sheet, they were all for the LFC double up in midfield with Mane, which would have worked out well for any manager who did. Cookie and Kop were talking about a back four and in Cookie’s case he was talking up a 5 back. Cookie was ahead of his time! Init had his eye on Milivojevic and Cookie said this “Mili is obviously great for a penalty every time Zaha falls over”. Kop talked about a possible golden boot for Auba and was hopeful that Allison would sign for LFC.

Hopefully they can replicate some of their good calls for this upcoming season, let’s see what they have to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

The first Bore Off of the season!!

Thanks to all 3 for partaking and really enjoyed it, hope some people get some answers to their questions or just become more confused, for this article the latter is preferred. 😉

Thanks to the Three Amigos for the entertaining chat. Wonder if anyone could comment on my team? Going 3-5-2 but worried that I’m overestimating Everton’s fixtures. Is DCL too lightweight as a second striker?

Personally I wouldn’t touch him. Unless something has drastically changed over the summer he’s not good enough to lead the line for a PL team. Is he even nailed on to start? It’s probably a sad indictment of Everton’s transfer policy if he is.

I’ve thought of him myself, solely based on fixtures rather than any massive expectations. Booted him out for a Watford attacker a while ago. Can always come back if he starts bangin’ ’em in.

Your side’s quite weird (not in a terrible way, just a way that caught my eye) in that it looks like you’ve underspent, and yet I’m sure you haven’t. I’m sure it isn’t, but it almost looks auto-selected in that the money’s well spread but to my eye the player choice looks unbalanced.

You haven’t really got a plan b for a captain, as far as I can see. Salah or bust. May be worth thinking about Sterling or Kane.

The front two is pretty weak on paper. Moura may become a selection headache once Son returns.

Thanks Init and Kralin: much appreciated. I think what you’re saying is that I ought to concentrate the midfield and forward spending in a couple of “big hitters” rather than spread across five midfielders. Will ponder on this…
