Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2020-21
Guess who’s back, back again….
With the FPL season getting closer and closer to starting it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues: GP of Scottish fantasy fame, Rosco of FPL fame and… Cookie.
I asked for the site members to provide any questions they wanted answering, and did they ever! Some really great stuff was asked and hopefully this edition of Bore Off can provide you with some good answers to said questions. I want to send a special thanks to Smash, Stone Frog, Tornado, Silvers, Chipster and dennisim for providing the bulk of the questions, they basically wrote it for me.
Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say.
Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

Hello, please comment on my composition?
Two weeks with the same combination, then KDB replaces Aub and Walker replaces Egan
If going 4-5-1 I’d prob prefer Werner or Kane up top. I quite like it though
I think your midfield is too good. You may need to downgrade Mane or Son to upgrade Mitrovic to Werner/Vardy/Kane.
Hi guys – first post of the season, so be gentle!
Been back and forth a bit, but I think I’ve settled on having Greenwood on the bench for GW1. Few mainstays of all my drafts so far that I am 95% sure will be in my GW1 team – Auba, Salah, Son, Ings, TAA, MCcCarthy – with the others shifting a bit. Still not decided on what to do to get KDB/Bruno in after that though!
Any thoughts appreciated! (zero ITB by the way)
Don’t see much to argue about there Kezzy.
You have players in every position of good value which mean players you might want to go for are within reach.
I’ve done the same wih Greenwood – he’s the cheapest way into the United attack and also not too much money on the bench for GW1.
I also have the same KDB/Bruno problem. Moving Auba to one of them makes sense for GW3, however if Auba’s form continues as it has been, it’ll be hard to let him go. I’m considering Foden as the cheapest way into the City attack at the moment, but that’ll likely change :unknw: .
Cheers guys
Yeah, I’m thinking the same about Auba. I might save my transfer for GW2, then leave me with a “mini WC” in GW3 to get in KDB. If Auba is firing, could do Son > KDB, Ings > Chris Wood(?), and get a 5m/4.5m midfielder in.
Think I’m going to start with this, and then bring in greenwood or ziyech for son, martial for Antonio and kdb for PEA in gw 2 or 3. Might change SaintM to soucek for more flexibility.
I hope those 4m players come off for you! I’m on Douglas at the mo, but keeping an eye out on others.
Soucek and Stephens might be a bit too much – both WHU’s and BRI’s opening fixtures are tricky to say the least! Stephens to Soucek makes sense so at least you’ll have ASM to offer attacking returns.
Although Son’s fixtures are ‘easy’ they’ve got a lot of fixtures in the first several weeks so it makes sense to have a plan for him – Ziyech’s nursing a minor knee injury at the moment, so keep an eye out for that.
Thanks bud, it’ll be a bonus if my bench players get minutes, not too concerned, hopefully won’t need them too often.
Bruno & Mitro = £16.5
Vs
Greenwood & Martial = £16.5
Pros & Cons ?
Ha ha that’s what I’ve been thinking. It depends if United sign anyone for me as would need Greenwood to be playing every week. I don’t think Martial keeps up with Bruno who is the main man
Bruno
Pro: the playmaker of everythig good at Man Utd at the mo.
Con: expensive.
Mitrovic
Pro: main man at Fulham. Cheap.
Con: plays for Fulham.
Greenwood
Pro: cheapest way into Utd’s attack.
Con: minutes may be limited if Utd buy a similar-positioned player. No Sancho is good news for him!
Martial
Pro: leads the line.
Con: he’s a bit hit and miss.
I’d go for the double up of Man Utd personally of the two option. Re-evaluate if and when a Greenwood rival is signed.
Good analysis atlas
Cheers
The major pro with Bruno is his penalties.
He doesn’t look like he’s going to miss any of them.
Best midfielder up to £7m, who’s gonna be a regular starter and likely to get a decent points haul. Not fussed about fixtures, as this is for a 5-2-3 set and forget team with Auba as the other mid.
A) Grealish
B) Barnes
C) Anybody else?
Grealish, Sigurdsson or Redmond probably.
Set and forget prob Grealish as he should play every week
Thanks guys. Yeah I’m already on Grealish so that confirms my thinking :good:
This is always my favourite article. Thanks to all involved.
Cookie you are such a joker!
You say that, “this season will be patient and dull for me”. :hippo:
