Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2020-21
Guess who’s back, back again….
With the FPL season getting closer and closer to starting it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues: GP of Scottish fantasy fame, Rosco of FPL fame and… Cookie.
I asked for the site members to provide any questions they wanted answering, and did they ever! Some really great stuff was asked and hopefully this edition of Bore Off can provide you with some good answers to said questions. I want to send a special thanks to Smash, Stone Frog, Tornado, Silvers, Chipster and dennisim for providing the bulk of the questions, they basically wrote it for me.
Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say.
Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

Thanks for a great article. Always enjoy it. My problem is getting United and city players in after the first week without taking hits. Would like Bruno, KDB and maybe Martial or Greenwood. How many (if any) to bench. any thoughts?
@Mackie, any number suggested will be hard to judge for several weeks if it was right, too much or too little. I probably venture to say that one, possibly two is about right, but we won’t know that until several weeks into fpl.
thanks. I guess it’s a case of wait and see.
Will want one of each by week 3 really. They are the two sides though that I may want an extra one though as well. Problem is week one
thanks. not worth taking hits then?
Cheers for this guys, quality as always.
Regarding Doherty and how advanced he’ll play under Jose. I’ve just been watching Spurs new amazon series and he stresses how high up the pitch he wanted Aurier to play. Granted this was only shown for 1 particular match but I can’t believe he’d sign 1 of the most attacking full backs in the league and not want to utilise his full strengths.
He’s in my team as a result (for the time being anyways!)
I’ve got Robbo in at the mo, but do we really think he’s going to get more points than last year?
For a million less Doherty is available, with a manager who will ply him high, and Kane/Son/Alli in the box creating spaces for shooting opportunities.
Think this requires a huge re-think.
He’s in my team too (for now)
Who do you prefer?
A. Tierney and Antonio
B. Doherty and mitrovic

Try to get Doherty & Tierney
Tottenham will be away in Bulgaria on the Thursday before they play away to Southampton at 12pm on the Sunday.
Thanks GP
Thoughts on this lot?
Never gone big in defence before…
For me lots of money on bench for GW1
I quite like the different approach. I’ve never gone that big at the back. But all three are great. Prob need some placeholders for Aguero and Fernandes. I’m not considering Aguero though as want to see if he’s recovered from that injury personally
It’ll probably be Kane and Son for Bruno and Kun. Then Bruno in for GW2 and as Smash mentions, I can then see how Kun is without needing to rush in. I do think if he smashes it like we know he can, then his price will rocket with the low ownership.
Like it something different, can work around subs planning for GW2 later.
I like going big at the back and I will most likely do that myself, have started the last two seasons with a 4-4-2 with 3 expensive defenders and it has worked well!
Refreshingly different. Like it.
Cheers all, that’s reassuring!
Your defence is as mine, though I may play a 4/4/2. Robbo may become VVD if money gets tight.
I’m planning on the usual 2FT before GW3 and to rearrange the furniture then as needed re United and City. Neither play in GW1 and City don’t have the easiest of games in GW2.
Personally I’d ditch Mitrovic and start with Ings or Jiminez (Kun can also be thrown over for Werner – or Vardy or Ings or Jiminez).
Thanks for the article Mitto
