Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2021-22

The first edition of Gabo for this new season.

With FPL getting closer and closer to starting it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues: GP of Scottish fantasy fame, Rosco of FPL fame and Smash of Devil’s Advocate fame.

I asked for the site members to provide any questions they wanted answering, and did they ever! Some really great stuff was asked and hopefully this edition of Bore Off can provide you with some good answers (doubtful) to said questions. I want to send a special thanks to all who volunteered questions that were not sexually explicit. punish

Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

  1. Right this is it. My final final team. And (injuries excepted) I’m not touching it until after GW1

    • Ha bet you make a change

      • Managed to last 6 days without touching it and then the news on Cavani and Ings came in ! Now the unchangeable team is :

  2. I absolutely love the Grab, Avoid or Bore Off series

  3. Which 7.5m striker would you guys choose out of Iheanacho/C.Wilson/Antonio? I have Watkins and need to get in another one out of those 3

    • I’d prob say Antonio

      • +1 or could you find 0.5 for DCL ?

      • Why over Wilson? Wilson has a good record against WHU scoring 8 goals in 10 matches.

        • Missed out tonight through injury. His conversion rate last year was ridiculous not sure it’s sustainable. Newcastle are not the strongest is the reason for me but I quite like him as an option still just 7.5 for a Newcastle striker is my issue I guess

    • Wilson and Antonio are nailed on starters. Iheanacho may start or not. Both Newcastle and West Ham have relatively easy fixtures at the beginning. Maybe Antonio to start with and bring in Wilson for Watkins when Villa’s fixtures turn.

      • I read that Iheanacho played a bit deeper in pre-season

  4. Really great read guys!
I was a bit worried not to see any questions about Giroud now that he’s gone, but you didn’t disappoint with 2 questions about him smile

  5. Comforting to see that most of your drafts don’t have Shaw. I am just not sold on the hype. Wonder what the ownership would be like if he wasn’t English AND playing for Man U (and I say that as a fan). Solskjaer will be changing things in defense with the arrival of Varane, so they might be shaky in the early stages. Also, it is not even certain who he will partner up on that left flank. As soon as Telles is back in the squad, Shaw will be rotated, cause he needs to be rested. I would be way more comfortable adding AWB at the start of the season.

    • Shaw won’t be rotated. He’s nailed Telles is nowhere near starting regardless.last season told us that. His ownership is really high because of his Euros yes but his stats last season for chances creation were off the chart.

      • He created loads of chances last season and I think amongst defenders that only TAA got more bonus points. Only negative I can think of is that he got carded a few times.

My debate is whether to have him and Digne alongside the two Liverpool defenders or just go with Shaw. Cresswell isn’t far away either.

        • Yeah he does like a card and still picks up injuries but it’s clear why he’s in so many teams. Yeah I like all those options Kralin

        • My seemingly final choice, other than bench-tinkering and deciding about Toney, is Digne or Smith Rowe. If I go for Digne I’ll end up with a 4/3/3 formation (I’m currently more in favour of the 7.5m strikers over equivalent priced midfielders).

I don’t really want to think about Kane going to Man City. What an utter headache that would be, though I doubt he would be played in the first game.

      • He is first choice for sure, but he is being rushed from Euros just because Telles is out. Plus they have CL to think of. At some point he will need to rest. Plus I am concerned about their clean sheets. Hope to be proven wrong.

        • Well – there’s always more than one way to skin a cat.

In the 5.5m (or lower) bracket, who do you think has a chance of out-pointing Shaw in the first few weeks?

  6. Gabo series is my best on this forum. Thanks guys for the views & entertainment.

Been away for a week. How she look boys & girls?

    • Double Villa is the only thing I’m not a massive fan of. It’s solid team though

      • Hey Smash, thanks for the reply. What is your current draft if you don’t mind showing?

        • Same as the article I wrote except Lamptey out. Currently it’s Dier but could be Ayling. Monitoring pre season mins of Dier as like the rotation but we shall see

        • Nice team. Still debating with Shaw or Digne myself. I may start with Son if that Kean deal ever happens.

        • Yeah I like Digne he could force himself in but that means losing ESR. Can’t see Shaw moving. Seems fairly set as I’ve not changed it and I have been.
          Tinkering a bit

      • I’ve gone triple Villa for the first 3,then drop Targett to Kierney. Bailey coming in is interesting.
