Grab, Avoid or Bore Off – FW32 DGW Edition

We felt that any usual stand alone article may be somewhat redundant this week, given the ‘obviousness’ of the Spurs DGW; do we really need to tell you that Spurs have a double this week and that Palace blank (that’s the Fixtures article done), or that your captain will 80% be Kane or 20% Son (Capos article done), or that you should probably buy some of the aforementioned (Tips done). No, we don’t. So instead we decided to probe some FPL minds on a range of wider issues, with a small eye on the above topics.

  1. Hi lads. How am I looking this week? Was thinking about doing a bench boost while I have a solid bench. Thoughts? Cheers!

    • Wow solid team m8!

    • Think it’s a great idea and should help offset the Kane TC points!

    • I think I’d save BB for another week. Dias and James could get rotated, have a look at their upcoming fixture schedule, it’s jam packed. Also, not keen on Forster and Vydra given their difficult fixtures.

      • Agree with Leeboy here.
Unless you’re planning a WC with a couple non-playing budget options I’d probably wait to a week with fewer rotation risks.

    • I think you might have better chances (eg. Gw35) to utilise it. But on the other hand it’d definitely soften the blow from Kane TC points, as Rosco wisely mentioned above.

    • Thanks for the feedback guys! Always appreciated! Apologies for not getting back to you at the time you posted. Wild time difference here in Australia!

  2. Never like having C and VC on the same team in case a game is called off. Thinking of taking an exception this week. I have kane as captain. Currently have vice on Bruno but should I switch it to son as it’s a dgw on the of chance that kane gets injured

    • Captain Kane and vice Bruno as originally planned, don’t overthink it. Anyway, Spurs are playing first so only1.5 hours between deadline and them kicking off.

  3. Trying to get ready ahead of the early deadline. Just just my ft from dcl to Iheanacho (hope I haven’t missed the bandwagon to much) going with TC kane also a non-brianer I feel.

    So my team issues are,

Dias with pep. The undroppley play was in the last gw, he played all 90 minutes in the cl too

Rapha, reduced minutes. Should I just start saka over him

And biggest annoyance is Alderweireld, took him in after gw28 (he had just started 4 in a row) with this gw in mind. Do I hold strong? Thinking him to coady after this gw, is it worth the hit to do now?

    • Good FT and TC.
Keep defense as it is. You have enough cover if Dias gets another rest.
Maybe play Saka over Raphinha, as he has a better fixture as well.
Don’t know about Toby. Spurs are a bit of a hit and miss anyway (apart from Kane & Son, of course).

  4. Good to go?

Really leaning towards captaining son, just to have a chance of catching up i my ml’s. Think that almost everyone there will go for Kane…

    • Just a thought, but if Dias gets rested do you want Wood or Dallas to come in? If not, maybe Neto->ASM against a dodgy looking Hammers defense could be a fun punt smile

  5. Here’s me took a -4 Sunday after a bad week. Cancelo survives another week

    • Looks good! Cancelo might play, I think he was spared vs Dortmund

    • Took a -8 last night to sort my team out for a while and get Son in. Hopefully should break even on the -6. I didn’t copy your first 11 honest. At least I have 1 different smile.

  6. I have to take hit to get SON. Question is if that is worth? I have below options:
    (1) Sell Mount, buy Son (for 4 ph), might need to take another (4ph) in Gw33 to field 11
    (2) Sell Gundo and Dias, buy Son and someone 4.5m (for 8 ph) – but it sets up nicely for Gw33 and beyond
    (3) Sell Gundo and buy Lucas Moura (no Son) (for 4ph) – which is a midway between option 1 and 2
    (4) Sell Gundo and buy Lingard (for 4 ph) (no Son)
    (5) Always an option 5 of do nothing.
    —————————————————————
    2.5 ITB, no FT
    Martinez, Forster
    Dias, Rudiger, Shaw, Coady, Vesteragaard
    Salah, Bruno, Mount, Jota, Gundogan
    Kane, Watkins, Ihenacho

    • Son actually has decent fixtures for the rest of the season. I would think if you want him over somone else for the remainder, then the -4 (-2) is well worth it.
