There were some bumper scores this game week with no less than 48/58 managers hitting double-digits, along with 42 of you correctly predicting Mo Salah as this week’s first goal scorer. The fixtures that most seemed to nail were Liverpool’s 2-0 win in the Merseyside Derby, City’s 2-1 win over Brighton and Manchester United 1-2 win away to the Blades. Many correctly predicted wins for Newcastle and Villa but nobody predicted the 4 goals the two home sides would score into the bargain.

Special shoutouts to WhoIsRonaldo and Jamie Mc who both hit 18pts and still managed to fall short of the top 3 scorers!

In third its little old me (Rosco), I managed 19pts, enough to win most weeks but only good enough for the bronze this week sadly. Going one better with 20pts and in second place we have Qwkiduzzit, but our big winner this week is our very own DMC who topped the table with a massive 21pts.

Overall League Table

THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… scoring couldn’t be much simpler:

• Correct Score —> 3 points;
• Correct Result —> 1 point; and
• Correct First Goalscorer of the Gameweek —> 5 points.

To clarify, this is who you think will score the first goal of the entire Gameweek, not just in any given match that you choose to pick yourself!

Points above are awarded on an ‘either / or’ basis, so you’ll either score 3 points for a Correct Score or just 1 point for a Correct Result, and these are never added together for a 4-point score.

Tie-Breaker: in the event of 2+ entrants being tied as winners for the Gameweek, the overall winner of the t-shirt will be decided by a tie-breaker. In order to do this, we ask that you also post your prediction for the time at which the first goal of the Gameweek will be scored. Nearest the pin wins!

The Rules… they are few: 1 entry per person and all entries must be submitted prior to the first match of the Gameweek. Kick-off this week comes on Friday at 20.00. Once all the matches have been played, we’ll calculate the scores, and the winner(s) will be announced in the following Gameweek’s competition article: each winner will walk away with an FF247-branded t-shirt.

• tell us who you think will be the First Goalscorer of the Gameweek; and
• follow it with your guess for the time of this first goal (to give yourself a fighting chance in a tie-breaker situation).
