Future Uncertain for German Tactician Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool has been experiencing a disappointing season as King Midas himself, Jurgen Klopp appears to have lost his touch. The once-golden boy of Football is now dangerously close to seeing his team drop to the bottom half of the Premier League as they continue to be outplayed game after game.

Since his debut in 2015, the Liverpool boss has enjoyed huge success, becoming the first man to win the Premier League at Anfield. However, his air of invincibility has since slipped, with his seventh season, which has seen a notable drop off during his tenures at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, calling into question his current coaching capabilities.

What Went Wrong?

Last term, Klopp started off strong having the Reds on the cusp of the quadruple, before experiencing less-than-stellar results in the Premier League and Champions League. The German tactician has since admitted that this gruelling and ultimately devastating pursuit has had a negative impact on the once-stellar team.

Since then the team has experienced a significant turnover with the recruitment decisions in the summer being heavily criticised. The continuous poor results have also had a clear impact on the confidence levels of the players, with injuries also contributing to the Reds’ enduring poor campaign.

Although the Reds returned to their winning ways on Monday night, securing a comfortable 2-0 win against Everton, there remains little hope for a late-season surge to snap up the fourth spot and vital Champions League qualification.

Time for a Change

Monday’s surprise win does not take away from the fact that Klopp has continuously failed to address the problem areas in his side leading to a disastrous season. Although critics celebrated the youthful energies of Bajcetic, NΓΊΓ±ez and Gakpo, with Bajcetic being compared to Bukayo Saka or Marcus Rashford as the latest wunderkind to emerge. Former Arsenal boss ArsΓ¨ne Wenger also shed light on Mohamed Salah’s performance calling it exemplary.

Next year, however, will still require heavy investment in new signings over the summer to ensure that this season’s struggles are not replicated. Klopp has also been accused of being too loyal to players who has been underperforming which he has since denied and reinforced the belief that there will be changes over the summer.

The Klopp Collapse

Jurgen Klopp left his first managerial post, at Mainz in the German Bundesliga, after seven years. He then inked a deal with Borussia Dortmund, securing them two titles within his seven-year reign. As he approaches the back end of seven full seasons in charge at Liverpool people are starting to wonder…

When will Jurgen Klopp leave Liverpool? This is a question on everyone’s mind. One which every fan of this soccer team is dying to know. However, it’s too soon to call it at this point. And whether placing a wager on this team or an upcoming match is wise or not, may be debatable. Perhaps find rare minimum deposit casinos

Way Forward

Under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, the Reds have won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Club World Cup, and Super Cup. Although another league win seems far off, Klopp did get to celebrate another recent success with the results of the UEFA independent report which cleared Liverpool Fans of any wrongdoings related to the scenes witnessed before and after the 2002 Champions League.

Although his reign, might soon be over Liverpool’s future still looks bright as the FSG, who has been Liverpool’s owners since October 2010, are entertaining new buyers and are keen to see what is on offer.

As it has become very clear that the empire Klopp built needs a renovation, the club has also reportedly made the first move to secure the signing of Perr Schuurs, for Β£44 million. Liverpool will also need to spend money on refurbishing an ageing midfield as the Β£130 million Liverpool spent on Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo has been a target for critics throughout their disappointing season.

Whether or not Liverpool will return to its formal glory it’s safe to say that when the time does eventually come for Klopp to move on his fist-pumping and chest-beating passion will be missed greatly.
