Mata needs to be subbed before he scores any more goals :/

Anyone else frustated with official FPL app?
Yea can’t load any points, there are better apps so i uinstalled it
So I guess United will look like this all season. Not let the opponent near the goal, having the opponents shoot off target (the Mourinho way) and wait for mistakes from the opponent. City will be the more fun team to watch for sure. Actually quite sad I have Ibra, f-ing waste. Valencia does look promising, already have DDG but I might do Baines do Valencia since Valencia already did more in 20 minutes than Baines did in an entire f-ing game, yesterday.
Watching monkey pics will be more interesting. 😉
I take it back, the first 7 minutes now already have been more interesting than the first half. :p
So my GW 1 has been a bit rubbish this far, I had intended to put in Mahrez and Lamela for haz and Townsend but the site crashed so that was that, it happens I’m not the only one and I’m certainly not going to lose too much sleep over it! Question is do I now take a hit to get Lamela in given that I wanted him and not Townsend or so I give Townsend another game!?
I read an interesting article last year ( it was my first year – I read a lot of articles!) that stated that the author made 2-3 transfers every week at the start of the season so as to build team value and get in the players in who would in theory benefit his team. I read this with some sceptism and took hits only when needed, I didn’t even access a price rises table until Christmas ( I didn’t know they existed!)
At the end of the season I ended up taking about 12 hits in total, my team value at its highest was 105k. I lost my mini league by about 8 points with the guy above me taking about 22 hits. So I guess I’m asking how much should we be looking to price rises and taking advantage of this knowledge earky door? I have 4 players who will drop in value in 2 days, do I ship these all out and replace them with players on the up? Do I accept these fluctuations and resist the hits even if i know a player will cost me more?
Take Lamella, I wanted him over Townsend and couldn’t get him in, I know he’ll rice this week and Townsend will fall but without a hit I’m looking at waiting 2 weeks before I can get him and he could have risen .6 in the time and Townsend could have dropped .6 meaning I’m 1.2 mil out of pocket… Or do I get him now, take the hit and hope it’s the right move?
What are you guys thoughts on this especially at such an early stage of the season?
Rosco,
Firstly, bad luck on those changes mate but there really is nothing you can do as you’ll know. But you just need to get on with it.
You still have Hazard to come don’t forget! That is some player to have in the last round of the weekend.
Personally I will take hits to get players I want, NOT to boost my value. I am not interested in team value – that really only counts once you sell your best players and if they are still your best players, then why would you sell them? Yeah you may have money tied up in them but you only release that when you release them if you see what I mean?
On the specifics, I would need to see your team to decide whether Lamela for Townsend is worth it. I have Townsend and I’ll give him another couple of chances I think.
Cheers for replying GP I think what you say makes more sense and certainly how I played it last year.
I’ll be interested to see who the standout ”must haves’ will be after all the games have been played but I know last season I made a few knee jerk transfers that sometimes worked out but more often than not bit me on the arse… Like when I took Mahrez out on the advice of Fix… He scored a hatrick that weekend and I ended up bringing him back in and lost a wedge of cash doing so!
Rooney scores and Ibra yet has to touch the ball.>.<
Think he just answered you Raz!
First 2 touches on the ball, on shot on target (free kick) and a goal. This is how we have to look at him.
Martial got 2 assists by the way. Or 3?
Yip, already outscored Vardy and Kane and is on par with Kun. I haven’t seen the community shield game but I heard dude was invisible till the goal, felt the same today. It is quite frustrating, but he can score any second when he is involved. I think maybe he will get more involved later, players like Rooney and Mata are trying to proof themselves extra under Mourinho.
Dammit, Bo scores. No cleansheets for me this gameweek.
First a free kick and now a shot on target. Ibra time. ;P
There he is.
Time to buy.
