62 points. With 18 points in the bench.
Couldn’t see all the GW1 matches . How did Kane, Gary and VvD perform? Martial proved to be a good differential for me in GW1. Gave me a decent start, though my def with GK scored only 7.
Any need for Kane to Ibra/ Gary to Negrado / VvD to other 5.5 def?

I think Ibra may fast become a must have. Although with Martial I’m not sure I’d like the double up.

    So, do I…..

    1) Stick with the original plan and get rid of Gray for Carroll.
    2) Bail on that plan and give Gray more time (despite some difficult upcoming fixtures).
    3) Have a complete change of plan and swap Gray for Negredo (before his price hikes).

      Hi banjo.

West Ham play on Thursday in the Europa league so wait until that one is out of the way before getting Carroll in.

      • banjomaker says:

Good point Horse. Although Negredo’s price will probably increase tonight, leaving me only option 1 & 2. My gut is to stick with the original and get Carroll in, especially if Ayew is gonna be sidelined for a while.

I have got 4 players in the dreamteam this week.
Unfortunately 3 of them were on the bench. (:

My big three of Kun Zlatan and Hazrd all delivered a goal.
The aforement mentioned bench ‘scored’ 32 points with cleanies from Amat, Mc A and Foster and a goal from Capoue.
Whilst it is a little frustration I am pleased at the depth of my squad. My defence of Stones Tony V Friend and Heaton all conceded a late goal each so not so bad there.
Very happy with 4th mid Redmond with his goal.
Firmino couldn”t score in an very attacking Liverpool team.
Only worries are Gray and Ayez. If Ayez is ok to play this weekend then I will hold the transfer.
If not I am looking to get Lamela in for him.
All in all a decent start and 62 points on the board smile

      NIce work horse.

True strength in depth in that squad even if it is difficult to swallow having those points go to waste.

62 is very good, well done. Now to build on it.

You need to wait for Ayew news I’d think before you do anything. Lamela would be a brilliant swap though.

Not bad at all Horse. Like you say, frustrating, but in a good way. I think Firmino will come good, just wasn’t his day.

Now fingers crossed Pompey can actually find the net Saturday. How we could benefit from a Zlatan right now!

      • Horse says:

        Hi Banjo.
Pompey are playing at Morecombe tonight so not long to wait.
One of the best things about League 2 (or 1 or Championship) is the games come thick and fast.
        You Pompey yourself?

        • banjomaker says:

Haha that shows how much of a fan I am these days! I had a season ticket from ’98 to ’11 (and used to go away regularly) before moving to Oz. Moved back to blighty last year, but very much a Fratton-only fan these days. Is it bad that it just bores the crap out of me now? I never used to go for good football, but this really is asking a lot!

        • Horse says:

I had a season ticket from 98 to 08 I think. Upper North.
Like yourself went to away games too. always great fun!
I live on the Isle of Wight so stopped having a season ticket after that.

I took my nephew to his first Pompey game boxing day a couple years ago versus Wimbledon.
We had a first shot on target in the 75th minute. Goalless draw. Awful to watch. So I know what you mean.
I only went once last season.
          Hoping to go soon though.

        • banjomaker says:

Yea I spent more time on the golf course than at Fratton last season. I’m going this Saturday though, but from chatting to the guys who still go every week, I shouldn’t be looking forward to it! Exactly the same problems that saw us struggle last year.

@horse, those 62 points gave you a well fought tie on the FF247 H2H league with … me!
Despite my 3 pts. advantage at the time, I thought you had it on Saturday given that we shared the remaining players but you also had Firm and Ayew to come. A 2 pointer from the former and un injury to the later inside 30 min meant you couldn’t go over the said 3 pts.. Story of a tie! smile
I don’t play to win any H2H league or given gws but I always like to see who I’m playing against and follow through the weekend!

      • Horse says:

        @DMC.
I saw I was a point behind you with just Ayew to play. When I heard that he was in the side I thought I had it in the bag.
Gutted when he was taken off. But never mind a point against difficult opposition is a good start
I notice that you are in the Saints league. You a fan? You from Hampshire?

        • DMC says:

@horse, yeah I was a bit gutted for you too when I saw him taken off. Just a bit though!! smile
No mate, I’m from Portugal and I don’t really have an EPL team. Normally I go with the one that has Portuguese players/coaches so Cedric and Fonte dictated that choice this year. Well, Cedric anyway, given Fonte’s transferring rumours… I did cheer for Portsmouth when Pedro Mendes was there! smile

        • Horse says:

Pedro Mendes was a legend. smile
Never forget those last minute goals he scored to help us stay up all those years ago.
Congrats on winning the Euros by the way.

    Hi.

Had 23 points on bench so same prob. I have Gray too but I feel that he has a shot against LFC’s very leaky defence. Probably may switch him for Carroll. Firmino I believe will get himself the steady points as the season progresses. Always felt that with Coutinho its either 25% of the time will result in double digit returns and 75% of the time, 2 point returns. Very hit or miss.
