I noticed a few of you guys have Capoue on your bench, last season he only got 1 assist, why did people pick him? Did he have a good pre-season, likely to assist or score again?

    TheDreamers says:

So Rondon might be interesting after the next game – somewhat overlooked?

WBROM have so few goals in them though is an issue IMO, Carroll will always be the better pick IMO look who he has behind him in comparison

luke where I agree, one goal is almost a guaranteed 3 bonus (not today but…)

      inittowinit says:

I assume that’s a reply to Dreamers and so yeah I agree totally. Carroll would be my preference long term. That’s unless Ayew impacts his game time but I expect they’ll accommodate both. The supply line for both though is far superior, as stated. I’d take Negredo over Rondon though if Carroll isn’t to your taste Dreamers. Just a better striker I think.

      • TheDreamers says:

Hi Init. I like Carroll. Negredo’s stats at Valencia doesnt inspire though

        • inittowinit says:

No mate, they were bloody awful weren’t they! Didn’t follow it though so no idea if there was a reason for that. Feels like a journeyman striker who can never really settle. Obvious ability but just never quite fulfils the potential. I’d expect him to get 10-15 if he stays and plays every game though.

      banjomaker says:

If Carroll’s getting 90 minutes every week I definitely agree. What about Negredo tho? He’s looking quite appealing to me. Not the worst fixtures coming up either.

      • lukealike says:

I think his only shot of the game was with his shoulder and he scored.
I even saw Demechelis do something like this once, and you wouldn’t have transferred him in would you :)) it could have just been right place right time.
Cant really judge Negredo on that but yea I think in this order they are best: Carroll, Negredo, Rondon or someone else

        • lukealike says:

Sorry I forgot Gray, Gray = or behind Carroll

        • banjomaker says:

They all count don’t they? 😉 agreed it was a lucky goal, and he offered little else. He’s a decent player tho, and if boro start scoring he’ll be involved in most of it, I reckon. I probably agree with your ordering tho.

I think Mahrez can do well over the next 3-4 gameweeks but Liverpool up against Burnley next week is pretty scary.

Burnley have a better defence than we did today though! Liverpool are very inconsistent as well…

Do we think Pool attacking coverage is essential yet?

      lukealike says:

They have the potential to have some of the biggest score lines, not always going their way though laugh
I will probably have double Lpool at some point this season, and maybe double Man U (not at the same time). I think both teams will be the leading scorers for the league and both getting top 4 finishes.

      • jamesimmo says:

They really do have an impressive front 4 now. Double up would be bold but, if they continue to be involved in the high-scoring thrillers, why not? Maybe we can bench them for Burnley and save them for their easier clashes vs City and Chelsea! 😉

      james

The aggressive way they went at Arsenal at times today, I’d be scared to go one more minute without coverage.

      • jamesimmo says:

        Powerful and convincing words Craig!

I’ll reasses after seeing Hazard and Carroll etc tomorrow night.

Gray is another concern, for opposite reasons to Coutinho, but I remember keeping Wilson after he blanked at home to Villa in GW1 last season and, soon enough, he bagged me a hat-trick vs West Ham.

        • james,

If you do go Liverpool, I’d pick one and stick. I had Firmino today and if I changed now to Coutinho, Firmino will be lit against Burnley!

The goals, assists and FPL points will be shared out equally over the season (hopefully).

I think Gray looks every bit the same prospect as Wilson did last year. As you said yourself, a bit of patience rewarded you last time.

        • jamesimmo says:

I would aye. Frustration will surely come regardless of which mid one goes for! Big scores though too it seems.

Coutinho for me now I guess, which is easy to say, but why not if you can save 0.5m and make a bit of cash too eh.

      Andy says:

I think someone (somewhere) said that they could be pretty frustrating in finding the right player to back which could be true as there forward line has lots of potential to score heavy and chop and change, I’m really hoping that Chelski attacking coverage will deliver better returns than last year with them missing out of European football for the first time in a while.

    Slow Poison says:

Lucky I got Coutinho and Lamela in before the deadline.
Not sure why I got Batshuayi in coz he will most likely start on the bench but I hope he emulates Drogba, Chelsea have been missing a clinical striker since Drogba left, they sold Lukaku, Costa has been a 1 season wonder, Remy is a benchwarmer.
Maybe Batshuayi is the answer… we will never know, all will reveal itself, we just have to wait and see..

      inittowinit says:

I did wonder that when you said you had him left to play earlier!

      • Slow Poison says:

I have no idea what I was thinking, I wont tell you what was going through my head at that time
I was rushing to amend my squad an hour before deadline and I had a lot of players in mind like Coutinho and Lamela for example and then I realised Lukaku was injured so I somehow replaced him with Batshuayi

        • lukealike says:

Coutino is amazing choice I dont know why I didn’t even consider him. It just seems like Klopp keeps him chained up and only releases him certain times then locks him up again :/

    MadHatter says:

Gray to Carroll will be my move this week methinks, still think Gray will have a good season but i can’t get past the fact that it’s bloody Burnley!
