Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 FPL News: After the excitement (maybe not!) of the midweek fixtures we are back with a long weekend of games beginning on Saturday lunchtime with Chelsea chasing records at Pardew’s Palace. We move swiftly on to four relatively dull looking games at 3pm, if we are being totally honest about it! It reads more like a relegation audition or next seasons typical Championship fixture list than any sort of Premier League bonanza. Ahem, sorry, we’re supposed to build you up into a frenzy of excitement to encourage the conversation about what is to come and what is happening aren’t we?! We’ll actually forgive you if you leave at 2pm and return at 5pm though, just this once! The evening game could actually be an interesting one as Man United visit West Brom, both of whom enjoyed midweek wins. Sunday begins with a south coast derby followed by arguably the clash of the weekend as Pep meets Wenger at the Etihad. At the same time as that one Spurs will seek to gain some ground on the leaders as they host Burnley. Our game-week closes out on Monday with another derby game, this time on Merseyside. @Melon, what kind of value do you have built into Costa? Just with a quick glance, Fuchs, Deeney and Pedro stand out to me. Will reserve judgment on Firmino until after tonight, but obviously his price tag makes him a target also.
Kinda depends on what you want to do with Costa.
Melon I’d keep Costa. He’s only gone for one match but like Mito says you have some contenders there in Deeney, Fuchs, Firmino and Pedro and I would actually leave them in that order for who to sell.

Strange that all teams don’t have same amount of days off and 3 days total off is a bit of a joke!! Was it not only last year when the FA talked about players well-being and safety??
TV is king Matt.
That’s more down to the TV deals rather than the FA, both BT and Sky will be wanting certain games switched around for the TV audience, no point showing them all at the same time.
Still a joke though lads even if they varied the kickoff times or had that multi-screen option it would make it more even in terms of days off and shouldn’t cut into profits too much.
I actually don’t think that the multi screen should be used for the EPL as it may eventually lead to fewer people attending games lower down the English pyramid, the top clubs will always be OK with the TV money that’s being banded about we’re still seeing clubs in the lower divisions who are struggling to survive (Coventry).
The lower league clubs have already been pissed on enough this season with the U21 charade in the EFL trophy competition.
That’s true Andy. I didn’t think Coventry were in trouble but I get what you mean with other small clubs. The FA could help by using TV rights(which I assume they get some percentage of?) to spread throughout the lower leagues. The TV deals are in the billions now so there should be plenty money to spread round.

Same here, my nightmare is an absolute nightmare though, also if you take into account the fixtures they have. Hehe, it’s like 2 players have a terrible fixture every gameweek. 😉
I’d probably need a couple of injuries or suspensions in my team to jump early, I’d also like to have a good guesstimate of teams who’ll have a DGW as well (Man United/Liverpool or Saints + FA cup teams), effectively any hits taken for a DGW will only be a -2 (If they play both games) so I see no harm in jumping early if you’ve got a good plan or if you’re just bored
Think it’s better to save for a dgw and set up the bench boost Raz. A whole reshuffle is always tempting though! I think I’ll keep grinding and save it though.

ANd fix defnse plus well a lot of other stuff. Anyone have a magic stick, I have one but it doesn’t work on FPL.
