It’s the day after the big one and we all wake up to find out whether the FPL Gods will be kind to us with rotation or if they will kick us in the Bob Geldofs. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day with the family, or doing whatever it was you did. It’s over now though, back to the (second) day job – FPL. And we are in full swing today with no less than 8 games. Cruelly, at least for those who indulged properly, we begin with an early kick off which means it’s an 11.30am deadline today. We hope this news doesn’t come as a shock to many and equally that if it does that you are reading this prior to 11.30am! We have the early game followed by six 3pm kick offs before Hull and Man City round off Boxing Day for us with the evening game. The GW itself then continues on Tuesday and Wednesday with a solitary game on each day. Just for housekeeping purposes there is a break on Thursday but then GW19 begins on Friday and there is a game every single day then up until, and including, the following Wednesday. Just to confuse matters that run of games spans two GW’s – the break is between Sunday and Monday when 19 ends and 20 begins. Worry not though, we shall keep you well informed of when you need to wake up! In the meantime please join us to talk about the happenings on the pitch during GW18 and share your teams joys or woes as the games go on. Rate my team posts are always welcome for the following week and will always be answered, do whatever you want on here, it’s your platform as ever…

goodafternoon to all,hoping you had a good gw.so after boxing day i m first in my minileague while 6 gw ago i was 8th 80 points far from the first.but i m frustrated.this gameweek i had TWO i repeat TWO players that missed a pen.hell yea i have both benteke and kane in my team.

Definitely, Ibrahim is even a strong captain candidate this week, with your team I think he should defo get the arm band. I’m struggling deciding who to give it to between Ibra or Costa.
Teo I feel your pain. And to make it worse that’s the SECOND time this season I’ve had two players miss a pen in the same GW. Couldn’t make it up.

Yes I’m 99.9 % sure thats also my route but this is fpl and it’s surprising how often I go with the 0.1%. Also there’s so many transfers I could do or even should do but can’t until ken’s back in as any 0.1 in value being misplaced will scupper any kun plan I have.

Db it would be Kane for me; Tekkers, ibra and costa or kun.
Well I’m a spurs fan and I kept Costa on a suspension and sold Kane last gw! Kun may come back and score a hatty or he may play 59 minutes and get a yellow!
What I’m really saying is if kun does prove he’s worth his value it won’t be Costa that makes way for him as things stand right now. Not sure who you have but I have my sights set on hazard for the chop to enable the purchase of Kun.

Hey guys, anyone like Walker to van Dijk for free? My defense is pants this week with Walker suspended. Do we think van Dijk will be rested through this busy run of games? Only have 6.1 to spend so that rules any Chelsea defenders out. Or just ride it out with Walker on the bench and save the FT?

McAuley and Smith are decent cheapo defenders though Bigpopz, not looking too bad at all with Alonso in there. I have Pickford and Holebas as well, part of my plans for the next couple weeks is to upgrade Holebas and get a Chelsea defender.

Evening all. As usual all your advice is kindly received. I’m on a WC and could do with thoughts on what else to change. I’m thinking Deeney to Rondon and if I can afford it Amat to Nyom. My team value is appalling as I’ve had a sticker with transfers this season.
Nik nak, I think Nyom is going to AFCON so check that out. Also Pickford out for a while I read so lose him if that’s correct. I’d go capoue to 4.3 to free up funds.
I’ve only just heard about the Pickford injury. Maybe Grant then if Butland is still going to be out for a while.
