Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News: We hope you enjoyed your 17 hours free from FPL and football in general! Yes, you read it right, GW19 ended last night and GW20 starts this morning. Now if that doesn’t smack of rotation then we don’t know what does. Obviously the teams are spread out in some sort of equal ‘ish’ fashion but there is also the issue of having so little time that some injuries will not be reported on. It’s a bit hit and hope in that respect at this time of year and so the team sheets will be eagerly anticipated and we begin at 12.30pm with ‘Boro hosting Leicester, followed by four 3pm games and today ends with Man united visiting West Ham. Tuesday evening see three games, before our week and Christmas period itself finally ends on Wednesday with Spurs hosting Chelsea amid echoes of a certain New Years Day fixture two years ago ending up 5-3 to the hosts, albeit a few days earlier than the anniversary.

Nyom plays 61 minutes and gets 2 bonus. McAuley has the game winning goal and gets nothing. SMH
They actually said on the summary on the radio that McAuley had been outstanding and was the man of the match. Says it all really about the bonus points.
Oh and I will lose against you Sir in the H2H
Must admit I hadn’t checked that one so I didn’t know we were playing. I’ll go take a look.
Nyom actually has 3 bps! No goals, no assists, only the CS but how is that ahead of Phillips’ 2 assists, Mcauley and Brunt’s goals, beats me.
I’ll embrace those tender bps though!
It’s bollocks!!
Cmon now, he has the best points per minute ratio of them all! :))
Yeah, same, site team has him, get in son!
How the he’ll has nyom got 3 bonus points over Phillips is a joke.
I hate pep. Stones comes on last min and i have chambers on bench.
AnttL – I’m not here to defende guardiola’s ass but he has done it before. Stones either starts or gets 5 mns cameos. Either way he will not give you points so do yourself a favor and sell that piece of deadwood. If a hit is required, do it anyway. I just did, for the current gw, for Nyom. I got lucky with Nyom but I would be relieved anyway. And he’s expensive too, compared to people like Ake, Nyom, Chambers, hell even Phil freaking Jones looks a better prospect. Sell!!!
who still has Stones lol, wasnt he a bad idea after two weeks?
I think as Mito explained it the other day he’s probably one that just stuck around due to more pressing issues each week. Probably the most frustrating player in the game to own thus far as every time he looks like a good idea (i.e a decent fixture like today) he gets bloody dropped for it.
Nyom is off to the AFCON tomorrow to tell them that he doesn’t want to play in the AFCON, go figure! And from what I’ve just read there’s a fair to middling chance that they will eat him if he does….
Eheheh well that can’t be good can it? Reckon he’s back in time for gw 21? Not sure I want him at spurs but nonetheless it’s better to have him around. What bothers me is Pulis benching him today, was that AfCon related in some way?
He won’t be back in GW21 if the poor chaps been eaten!! Have a heart DMC
Lol just seen that after all snoddy is leaving with all 3 bps! After his team were trashed 3-1!
I need to reassess the bps points table.
Think he was benched due to a) his horrific defending at Southampton and b) Pulis rotation with 2 games in 48hrs
Well snodgrass just ate one of his bps! #canibal
he helped deliver a baby on the pitch at half time, hence the max BPS
Hey, I played my wildcard last night, what do you think?
Ibra, Aguero, Kane
Sanchez, Alli, Lallana, Philips
Bellerin, Brunt, Ake
Grant
(Jaku, Mutch, Holgate & some other cheap ass guy)
on 40 with BPS, Kane, Alli, Sanchez, Ake, Bellerin & Grant to go
Wasted my wc? In terms of double game weeks I will just plan them well in advance.
Great starting 11, but weak bench mate.
Luke, love the starting XI, bench is awful, but you know that!
I wouldn’t say you’d wasted it at all Luke. As long as you’ve got in the players you want then that’s all that matters really. Crap bench though! But you know that. It’s a personal choice as to when to play it. Myself I will wait until the DGW’s but it can be negotiated around as you say, just takes a bit more planning ahead and the transfers ahead of it are dictated and restricted by it more as opposed to just rocking up the week before and playing it. Look, GP played his and he’s one of the more consistent, experienced and successful managers around so if he says he’s playing it with good reason then you can be sure it’s been thought out thoroughly and that’s good enough for me.
GP was bored on the gritter
I’ve done what??????????????
#sleepdeprivation
Yea there is pretty much some players on my bench who have passed away :/ so hoping to avoid any sub appearances
My team was getting a bit odd and had to do something about it or it wouldnt have been alot of hits and depressing times. I understand the logic of saving it for doubles, but way I see it is. If your canny you can plan well enough in advance and your essentially using your wildcard for just one week and benefitting solely from that. Where as my using it now I have managed to get most of the players I want / could want and my team can benefit from it for most of the remaining season.
How you guys doing? Good week so far?
Odd one for me Luke, I only had 4 players in the first 6 games. They brought 34 though so not too bad. More to look forward to this week I suppose.
tahts pretty good score mate, going to be a good gw for you
First thing to watch for will be the GW’s where the players will be missing so you’ll likely be needing to sell either Aguero or Ibra at some stage with the league cup final landing on the Manchester derby (I’m just going to assume that United will beat Hull in the semi which they will ).
Be prepared for the GW’s where you don’t field all 11 and just suffer it, I went with a zero bench approach after my GW 4 WC and this week is the fifth time that I’ve only managed to field 10 players but in the long run so far it’s worked out well for me, I will be looking to boost my bench up shortly though as my TV is in decent shape.
Finally get Coutinho in for Alli and ditch Lallana if he’s fit for next GW
Thinking of replacing origi…
1. With sturridge injury is he more likely to start now and worth keeping?
2. Bring in giroud (no other Arsenal cover, but also considering Walcott again)
3. Bring in Defoe
Thoughts appreciated ??
Defoe is the safe option.
Lewis, get Defoe – Mr Consistent, no rotation worries, on pens, scores the majority of his team’s goals. Wish I had him and I wished that before today.
Thanks guys I think he is the safest bet!
Cookie,
You definitely deserve some credit here. Five minutes before the deadline, you doth suggesteth Mr Defoe.
I didn’t have time properly to assess so I left it. Still got Benteke to play but great shout mate.
And Brunt 😉
Yeah but still, Tekkers against Swansea mate…
Or as the Capo poll put it best
Hahaha
Defoe.
Giroud is good, if and when he plays. Ironically though Defoe will probably still outscore him, despite the respective teams.
I was crunching some numbers the other day, you know Giroud currently socring every 71 minutes make him the highest goal to minute ratio striker in EPL at moment lol. I know if he starts week in week out he cant mantain that, but not bad. Most are over 100mins, alot are around 130-150mins so 70 is pretty impressive.
Lukaku for instance before today was at 150mins I think if I remember correctly which is double what Giroud was before this GW
47 points with Pedro, Sanchez, and Ali to go. Not to bad.
Show off
Looking on cracking the top 50k too .
This is not helping our friendship;)
