Re Evans injury: Probably out for until 6 weeks.
“The length of time needed for healing a calf strain depends on the severity of the injury. A typical grade I calf strain will heal in 7 to 10 days, a grade II injury within about 4 to 6 weeks, and a grade III calf strain within about 3 months. The most common injury is a grade II calf strain that takes about 6 weeks for complete healing.”
balls
Ritz – is there ant indication of the severity?
Dreamers, Moyes has said it wasn’t too serious and doesn’t expect him to be out for long.
cheers Cookie
Anyone know what’s happening with Ravel?
I made the mistake of putting him in as 5th choice mid thinking he was returning from injury but he’s been on the bench and value is dropping like a stone.
big sam getting payback for petulance id say
So it turns out Vlaar is injured again.
During the match it seemed like it was only a tactical substitution, but actually the hammy got to him.
Will Coleman be back for next GW? I hope he comes back otherwise Ill have to field in Olsson against City.
Dont like my strikers either for next GW: Suarez, Sturridge and Giroud.
The B. Heard he is supposed to be (poor sources, not worth mentioning).
if you don’t mind me asking, what age are you. Think you said you were off to study earlier?
Im 20.
hope I didn’t offend The B. Thought you were likely to be even older – like 30 odd . I do know there are some younger folks on here (I mean much younger than you).
Haha. Do i sound like a wise ole man to you
I know. Bills is way younger than me, and so is hazardeden. And Raz is probably 11 something.
I hope so too!
Thought be’d be back this week…
Expensive to have him on the bench.
The B – He was on the bench today so I would expect he’s 90% fit so yes he will be back next week. He’s integral and we have struggled without him.
+1
Evening All !
…
1st time on-here today
Ok, 22pts from 5 players and a -12 hit, took me down “only” 15K places !!!
Key players + Cpt playing tomorrow – so pretty much satisfied how this day ended, tbh !
Marshall conceding at the very start & the injury of Evans were the “lows” of today…
Anyway, all in all – ended up better than I expected !
:satansmoking:
p.s. how did it go for all of ya ?
HL – 23 from 5 with a minus 4. Mannone on the bench n Evans injured
I played Mannone over Marshall and started Clyne on a hunch, so those two things worked out well for me. I’m on 31 (-4 for a hit) with Kosc, Hazard, Silva, Puncheon, and Suarez (C) to play. Depending on how they do tomorrow it could be an OK week. The Vlaar injury could be very problematic for me though as I have Coleman and Clyne as well. Hopefully Coleman will be back for this coming match week.
Red – I advised you to play Marshall. Glad you ignored me
Evening HL, hope you are well mate. I got 23 from 4 (-4) but the hit was for Mata so just about paid off. Slightly down overall but I have gone top (finally!) in my main mini-league so all happy here!
Evening Initt! Sorry I didnt reply before mate, but had an appointment with tesco! I went for for Sturridge, but then had a dilemma about my defence! Nearly took a hit! Im glad I didnt as it wouldnt have paid off!
No worries mate! I went for Sturridge also. I had intended to go for Rooney or RvP but Sturridge allowed for Mata also and that kind of paid off plus he’s got Fulham at home next week. Which SHOULD be an easy win for Utd. 😮
I’ve got similar issues in defence in so much as I have had to play Ward away at Arsenal due to injuries but sometimes you’ve just got to suck it up as you can;t have a perfect team every week and that sort of a hit is very risky as defenders very rarely pay it back with much more then a CS.
Anyways! Who’s your captain tomorrow?
Cheers, All 😉 !
Turbulent times for all, I see…Just when one thinks he’s got the perfect 11, two or three injuries on players most of us have — > can and did turn things around and made chaos in the rankings…
Having a hard time holding off from doing an early transfer to make sure there are no new injuries during the matches tomorrow. I don’t know why it’s so hard, but I hate losing money in the transfer market. Sometimes Total FPL is a curse for me because it pressures me to make moves too early to save some cash..
It’s going to take all the will power I have to watch Aguero lose more value tonight before shipping him out later. Especially as I think I’m going to replace him with Sturridge who is going up tonight. That’ll be .2 million down the drain by holding off until after the matches tomorrow! I don’t don’t like that at all, lol.
Red – is that the only trf you are planning for the week
It was until Vlaar got injured! I’m assuming Coleman will be back next week but if Vlaar is out and Clyne can’t be counted on to start consistently it leaves me very thin in the back. I could hold off and field 3 defenders probably but I’ll have to address my defense soon.
Clyne should be okay Red, for short term, as Chambers is injured.
Ah, I didn’t know that B- thanks. I had an appointment today so I was just following the points on my phone during the 2nd half today. Any idea what he injured? Did it look bad or was it just something minor?
Red
Im not so sure as i missed second half of the match. Chambers went off on 57th minute and i saw people here who pointed out that Chambers was taken off due to injury, otherwise it makes no sense to replace a defender when SOTON was in full control.
My guess is you can relax with Clyne for a week or two. He quickly came on an defended well and even created and assist with a beautiful cross, and he should climb the pecking order soon.
Right on, thanks B. I’m sure we’ll found out more details this week. Bad news for Chambers but good news for Clyne owners (if there are any left!).
Haha Red, im pissed at myself. I took a hit and went Clyne>Shaw, but i recovered all the hit points by breaking even and ended up buying expensive SOTON cover. Oh well.
Btw just confirmed from someone who watched the match and Chambers got a knock in the match. So we never know how quickly he will recover. Lets hope for the best of our fantasy interest.
Does it matter? You should transfer Kun out now for Sturidge. Kun is injured and should not be benched for 1 whole month. Regardless of other injuries tomorrow, I would even take a hit. I gained TV by selling Kun asap. Do the same. Don’t tinker that much 😉
Ha, I like your thinking KungFuKing!
I thought I was being prudent by waiting (essentially just to make sure Sturridge doesn’t get injured tomorrow). Because I def need to get rid of Aguero, but if Sturridge gets hurt tomorrow and I already brought him in, then I’d need to use another transfer to get him out too. If I wait until after the match tomorrow I can at least be assured I’m not bringing in somebody who is already injured.
You think I should take the risk and save the cash and pull the trigger tonight?
Well sometimes I like to play risky. I subbed Aguero out as soon as he had his injury without knowing he was out for a month. Turns out I did good coz since then Sturidge gained 0,2 (in TWO days…insane!). I would personally swap tonight, I am like you a bit obsessed with TV sometimes! But I get your point. To really be on the safe side maybe wait tomorrow. You got the cash so that extra 0,2 lost won’t cost as much as having to take a 8PH. Its all up to to you if the risk is worth it hehe.
I like that style too KFKC. I always think that if I don’t do the early trade I’ll end up being .2 million short for some player I need in a few weeks and totally kick myself for wasting the money!
And I suppose if Sturridge does get crocked tomorrow I could always play a 3-5-2 for a couple of weeks!!
Haha, thanks man.
Haha exactly! Good luck with whatever decision you will make…both are good and defendable…so….probs do a coin toss or two!!
Red for what it’s worth 99% of my transfers I do on a Friday night last minute. It means I rarely get caught out by having to do any extra ones due to injuries etc. The caveat to that is that my TV is usually average to poor but I never tend to notice that difference until it is WC time. I think as a rule if you are going to do early ones then at least wait until all the games are over in that week and try and do it on weeks where there are no midweek cup fixtures like CL or League Cup or FA Cup replays that involve your players. Just my thoughts on it.
Thanks initt, I appreciate it.
That’s definitely the sensible way to do it. And by selling Aguero and picking up Sturridge or someone in that price range I’ll have plenty of leftover money to work with, so it’s not like if I don’t do it tonight I won’t be able to afford X,Y,or Z.
It’s just tough for me to be patient and not let the price changes affect my transfer decisions- it literally plagues me all season. You’d think I was spending my own money or something! Ha.
