Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News: Just the six gameweeks left and so time is running out to close down those mini-leagues, make a late run for glory or consolidate what you have, all in the pursuit of office bragging rights. It may just be six gameweeks but not all gameweeks are created equal, as we are about to find out. At least three of them will be DGW’s. This is the part of the season when planning and preparation come to the fore and the casuals are left in a daze wondering how their seemingly unassailable 100 point lead suddenly turned into a deficit. Chips will be brandished like confetti. And those that can’t will learn lessons about patience.

GW33 is perhaps one of the last of the ‘normal’ gameweeks when all 10 teams will play, and just once at that. Spurs kick us off with a home fixture on Saturday lunchtime, much as they did last week when they mauled Watford. This time their victims are Bournemouth. And this time they will probably have Kane and not Janssen…

Saturday continues with five 3pm kick offs as Palace welcome a rampant Leicester, Everton batter Burnley, Stoke bore Hull, Sunderland pretend to care against West Ham before we finish with Watford teasing Swansea.

Saturday closes out with Man City visiting an in form and stubborn Southampton at tea-time.

Sunday begins with West ‘out of the office until August 2017’ Brom hosting Liverpool before we get to Jose trying to derail Chelsea’s title bid at 4pm.

The gameweek ends on Monday as we count the banners again. And planes. And planes with banners. Seriously, how much determination and / or money do these people have?! Anyway, if anyone notices or cares for the game itself it is Middlesbrough facing Arsenal.

Please join us as ever to discuss the games as they happen and share your feelings, successes and woes as the action unfolds and hopefully the FPL points flood in for you.

56 with Walcott and Sanchez to go… Decent week! I’ve a forward line of LKK, Kane and Origi – could go Origi to Negredo. Personally wouldn’t be going for Ibra as he might be a rotational risk and I see no way to drop LKK and Kane. What about you guys?

My current DGW players are Zaha and Gibson, might go for Robles to Valdes but that should be it.

      Andy says:

I’ve got Ibra already so I don’t see the point in letting him go ahead of the DGW in case he plays them both, I’ll have Chambers/Valencia/Zaha/Negredo/Ibra all on a double but I’d be surprised if all of them started both games next week.

Valdes could be a decent shout.

      • DMC says:

Andy – isn’t Chambers injured? Is he do back? I ask because I’ve just realized I’m very short on the money front and am looking to get a Boro defender as a make weight but wouldn’t want to bring the wrong one! I only have 4.4 for such individual and Chambers is in that bracket.

        • DMC says:

Wait! Just saw his red flag is loan related. But he didn’t their last one. Dinnery has nothing on him so are we expecting him to slot right back in the XI?

        • DMC says:

Thx Andy/Cookie – cmon Cookie he’s a big man. I mean I just need a 20m nap to be up and running again with the kids. Surely a week off is enough freshness-wise! If they win both their games in hand they catch Pool in 4th. Of course the boys doing the job doesn’t help the non-rotation idea. So are you staying away from Utd attack?

        • DMC says:

Yeah I do. And looking at it regardless of fatigue-rotation the fixtures aren’t great either. Not going for Utd with a double just seems odd. And risky. But shipping Lukaku for a non playing Ibra is even worse. I’m sudennely routing for Anderlecht…

      • Andy says:

I brought him in weeks ago in my WC team with him supposedly on the brink of a return then, he’s been nearly fit for the last three weeks or whatever the hell that means smile

Apparently he’s only ineligible for this GW with him being on loan from Arsenal but I won’t hold my breath on him being back just yet but I’ve got him already so I’ll start him.

Valdes could be a cracking shout there actually. Hmmm…

    man u man says:

Guys thinking randolph kun and origi to valdes kane and negredo. What do ye reckon? My ml rival has kane and he’s killing me. I’ve. 3m itb and two fts. I was leading from the start up to tonight.

      Andy says:

I wouldn’t touch Negredo on a -8 (If that’s what it is) he was benched for Stuani against Burnley last GW so he’s not a nailed on starter for both games on the double and you wouldn’t buy a Boro forward on a normal GW, save that transfer and bring in Gabbiadinni on GW 35.

      • Andy says:

Missed the two FT’s part but I wouldn’t take a -4 on Negredo either.

        • Neo says:

Not having Kane is scary, but having Kun has proved to be a great differential for the past couple of weeks + City’s fixtures are becoming awesome soon. The rest of your squad looks great though, if you want to be risk averse then you could consider getting Kane as well and hope that the rest of your squad beats his?

      • Brookyboy says:

He’s got 2 ft so it would be for a -4,it gets him Kane who his rival has so he defends that,i think i’d go for it,then switch Negredo to Gabbi Gw 35 which is what i’m doing all being well.

    Evening All…

Cookie, I pretty much agree with what you said above about Ibra…
Actually, pretty much we are on the same page…

After the game, spent some hrs brainstorming and after taking all the facts into consideration…
I still think Ibra is a no go for the DWG ahead…

I would appreciate if anyone throws in some facts/opinions on this…
But for now, it’s a big fat “nope” for me…

    REPOST :

    **********************
He won’t play both DGW games, for sure !

Actually, looking at UTD’s schedule, I’m pretty sure this will be Jose’s plan :
    -bench (today)
    -plays (EL)
    -bench (vs BUR)
    -plays (MCI) …
    etc…

Assuming they beat AND, this will be their schedule for May:
    04/05/17: Semi-finals, first leg – plays!
May 7 – Arsenal vs Man United – ?!? doubt
    11/05/17: Semi-finals, second leg – plays !
May 14 – Tottenham vs Man UTD – ?!? doubt

      TheDreamers says:

      hey HL

if you have him, I’d say keep him. I would not buy him though myself ( I have him so in one sense easy)

I dont have a scoobies who I will captain now next week though.

    • 94.3
      inittowinit says:

I agree totally HL. Like Dreamers I have him now so he stays and I’m surrounded by ML people who do too (well ok, followed by! B) ), but I wouldn’t go actively buying him now if I didn’t.

      Horse says:

      Lots of fixtures for United.

I just had a look at the fixture tracker and GW 35, Ars play Tot Eve play Che
      Meanwhile Mun host Swa.
Ibra (if he plays) could be a good choice for the armband.

      Andy says:

If Ibra is fatigued then their’s a possibility (after today’s result) that he mightn’t make the the Anderlecht game, Valencia was missing from the line up for two successive games with apparent fatigue so I guess it’s possible, no way are Man U prioritizing the Europa over the league yet though as they’re right back in the top four hunt after today’s game, if they win the game in hand against Burnley they’ll go into the Manchester derby only one point behind Citeh and three off Pool with a game in hand.

WiFi in Bolivia is very hit n miss, so
I’m asking now whilst I have a connection.

I’ve got 2 FT and 0.9 ITB. I will be wildcarding in GW36 anyway.

What moves should I be making?

    Thanks.

      inittowinit says:

Hi Banjo, hope you’re having a great time?

Depends if you are attacking or defending anything here? Vardy to Tekkers feels ok for starters though.

      • banjomaker says:

Having an awesome time, thanks Init.

I’m about 20 points clear at the top on my ML, so defending a little I guess.

I’d lose a little money on Vardy if I wanted him back for later DGW’s, but I guess he’s the obvious one to lose for the next two weeks.

Tempted by Foster to Valdez too.

    • 95.2
      Smash10 says:

Yeah I’m in Bolivia next week could be an issue. Certainly not a problem in Brazil. I think I’d lose Vardy

      • banjomaker says:

Cheers Smash. Vardy’s been very good to me, but I think I’ll lose him, probably just for a couple of weeks. The wifi in Bolivia is not that bad in towns and cities, but I’ve been in some pretty remote places the last few days. Beautiful country though.

        • Smash10 says:

Yeah Leicester have been really good. Yeah looking forward to it. Doing a 3 day salt flats tour which will have no internet so need to be wary of that with my team

        • banjomaker says:

That’s exactly what I’ve just finished! I’m sat in Uyuni now waiting for my bus to La Paz. It’s absolutely stunning mate. You’ll have an amazing time, but no internet. There was one place (on day 2) that was selling 15 mins access, but that was it.

        • Smash10 says:

Oh wow. Good to hear. Looking forward to it. Yeah it’s hard not being able to find out the football scores

        • jamesimmo says:

I did that Salar de Uyuni tour last summer as well, lads, aha! Class, isn’t it, and great having a 4×4 to get across the terrain so smoothly in.

It snowed the day after we set off! Snowball fights in the desert… freezing hostels… one to rememeber! Smash, fuck the footy for a week, have a great one.

Oh, banjo, are you going to be staying in the Loki hostel in La Paz?

        • banjomaker says:

Yea I pre-plannned my moves around it, and then had to wait until I found wifi to see what’d happened. If they give you the choice of seeing the sunrise then make sure you do it, but take decent shoes as you’re stood in an inch or so of water, and it’s f’in freezing! Oh and slap on loads of sun block. It may feel cold, but I’m burnt like a lobster.

        • banjomaker says:

Haha not you as well James!!! Nah, we’re in nice hotels from here on in. Slowly making our way to
Machu Picchu. Smash, wrap up warm in them hostels, it’s damn cold at night!

        • Horse says:

Great to hear you talk about Bolivia. I was there in my pre fantasy football days so no worries about wifi etc. I loved Uyuni absolutley stunning
I climbed a 6000 metre mountain too. Hyanua Potosi. Awesome!
Enjoy it to the max whilst you’re there mate. smile
On the Pompey front. We could be promoted tomorrow but if not we should confirm it on Saturday.
Oh and we could well be taken over by some rich dude, who used to be CEO for Disney.

        • banjomaker says:

Hey Horse. It’s my first time here, and it’s pretty spectacular! Yea I’ve been keeping in the loop with Pompey stuff. Thanks god we’re finally out of that league! I know lots are excited by this potential takeover, but I’m a little concerned by a pensioner being in charge.

        • Smash10 says:

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. Any reflections then I’d there’s a bit of water. Yeah can’t wait. Yeah I’m sure I’ll fit the fantasy team around that lol

Hi, thinking about chip strategy for the closing weeks. Have all chips and a WC left. I’m guessing that it works the same this year that I can’t use my WC GW 37 and then use BB or TC för that week?

For GW 34 I’m thinking getting some Middlesbrough defense and bringing Zlatan in for Kun and TC him. (Think the fatigue is bull, he was free during the international break and suspended for three matches and he normally plays 90 mins every possible game. OK, he´s older now and PL is tough, but…)

Using WC GW36 and bringing in Arsenal and Southampton coverage and then going BB GW 37. Grateful for any input.

    • 96.1
      inittowinit says:

You have too many chips left for your own good smile

Yeah it’s the same rule as last year in that respect. You can’t WC and TC on the same week etc.

I’m sure you’ve read the above on the Zlatan thing, personally I do agree with what’s been said in relation to prioritising the Europa and I do see him getting rested for it. I was a bit surprised to see him benched today but that tells its own tale in terms of priorities for them. If I were you I wouldn’t TC him. Being frank. I’d probably look at another strategy that allowed TC’ing Sanchez in 36 and still a BB in 37. Which would probably mean a WC in 35. Not saying I’m right by any means, I hope I’m wrong actually as I own him, but just playing the percentages that’s what I’d do myself.

      • Thanks for reply! I’m always waiting for a better opportunity with my chips, I’m at my best in GW39 smile Sanchez is probably the percentage play, but Arsenal is in free fall and I need a differential hovering at 250k. On the other hand you guys writing here have so much more knowledge than me. I’ll definately consider WC in GW35.
