Live Match Chat Gameweek 34 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 34 FPL News: The frantic planning is now over and it’s time to sit back and hope that your double game-week players all see the pitch twice or indeed to hope that your single ones don’t come a cropper in the FA Cup before they get their FPL chance to shine in midweek. GW34 is fraught with danger whichever way you look at it but on the bright side there’s football aplenty this week! The gameweek begins late this week as we have four 3pm kick offs on Saturday and it’s basement battle time as 7 of the 8 featured teams could still technically be relegated. With no evening game Saturday will be over in the flash of an eye and then Sunday sees 2 of this weeks 3 DGW teams begin their quest as Man Utd go to Burnley in the early one before Palace visit Anfield in the later game. We then have a breather for a day before Chelsea and Southampton get us back under way on Tuesday night. Wednesday sees another three games before we finally conclude on Thursday evening with the Manchester derby.

I see Kun is flagged with a muscular injury? Will we see Jesus rise from the death early?

40 points with 9 to go so some green arrows smile
I know it’s early but GW35 looks very difficult to call.

    Hi guys,

Team is below. I appreciate it’s pretty difficult to judge the best way to use the four chips the next four gameweeks, but what do you think to my plan?

GW35: AOA chip – Coquelin to someone like Townsend or Redmond for 1 GW
GW36: Wildcard – Change everyone apart from Eriksen, Aguero*, Alli and Alonso – bring in Cech, Pickford, £5m def, Stephens, Holgate, Davies, Sanchez, Hazard, Herrera, Gabbiadini, Anichebe – should have four DGW players
GW37: Bench Boost – Should have 14 DGW players
GW38: Triple captain someone like Hazard

*Obviously, if Aguero isn’t fit, I could change him to Kane in the wildcard and upgrade others

It’s not ideal to TC for one single GW, but can’t think of another way other than WC 35, TC 36, BB 37 and AOA 38 but then my team would initially be weaker and I’d probably bench players with decent fixtures in GW38 too.

Your thoughts, as always, would be much appreciated smile

Swirly, who are you looking at as the 5m defender for your WC? I ask because I can’t find one apart from Yoshi/Cedric that has a double in 37 (which would then mean only 13 dgws). That’s one; the other is, are you not worried with Ben Davies’ playtime? Rose is due back on 30/04 accordingly to Ben Dinnery so even if the doens’t play right away he surely puts Davies at risk for May 12, no?
That being said, I’d WC on 35, TC Alexis on 36 (they have Utd at home, I know, but this game is between the EL two legs) and BB on 37. AOA is useless so either don’t worry too much about it or keep it for 38 – your front 8 should be good anyway (unless you go ahead with that odd plan of getting Anichebe any near your WC/BB team smile ).

    Afternoon all!

Thinking of activating my WC; which is the better option? 😉

As always your feedback would be appreciated!!

I’d say Stephens and Yoshida are best bets for Saints defensive coverage instead of Forster

        • Mitro says:

Forster usually turns into Buffon when he plays us… 😉

Which team do you like smash?

        • Kunal says:

I’ve Forster too and I’m planning to use my WC this gw.I’m not sure he will get anything in the 2fixtures in dgw 36 so choose second gk who has a good game that week.Gw 37 is fine for Forster as one of the teams is Boro.

        • Smash10 says:

3rd or 4th. There are so many lol. I like Hazard. You need a few Arsenal players. I think Sane is a decent pick. I think Rose maybe back for the double

        • Mitro says:

          I like 3, 4 &5 at the minute!

Have some real hard decisions to make over the next couple of days!!

        • Smash10 says:

          Yeah also like option 5

        • Mitro says:

I can see Chelsea being solid over the next few weeks!

        • TheDreamers says:

Mitro – thought you were doing an excel for us or something?

Davies’ time in team might be short lived – might even be back for the Arsenal game but unlikely.
          Like the Blind pick.
Double Southampton is too much in one sense but then again Stephens is so cheap.
Pedro seems have gone off the boil of late.
I think Hazard is a must with a WC.
          Actually like no 4 better.
Jesus is too big a risk until he plays

      banjomaker says:

Some interesting picks in the Mitro. Are Davies and Gabriel guaranteed starters for the remainder of the season? Jesus is a punt too, but could be great value if he walks back in to the team.

      • Smash10 says:

I have Davies and he won’t be in my wild card team. Rose is due back soon and he did not play in FA cup

        • banjomaker says:

Yea I’ve currently got Huth at the same price, and will probably stick with him if Davies isn’t going to keep his place.

      • Mitro says:

        Banjo

Gabriel has played well over the past couple of games whether that warrants an extended stay in the team I do not know, has rose started training again?

Holding could be another punt for a cheap way into the Arsenal defence and he has also played well!

Which team do you like best?

        • banjomaker says:

It’s a very tough call. Probably number 2 for me, mainly as I think they’re more likely to start. That said, other than BB week, you’ll have a selection headache.

        • TheDreamers says:

Mustafi due back Mitro isnt he?

Rose is not training with the group but is going good per Poch

      inittowinit says:

Hi Mitro, can I just ask a fundamental question – what’s your main rationale / need to do it this week and not next please?

      • Mitro says:

Init – Original plan was to always WC for GW36 but I’m running out of time in one of my main ML! I don’t care about anything except catching the guy ahead of me! My gut is telling me I will be ok to hold off for another week but there are a couple of players who I want in now such as hazard, Sanchez and sane! My rival has neither and he doesn’t have his WC or BB left!

        • Mitro says:

Or do I stick with this lot for another week!

          P.S Gibson is gone smile

        • inittowinit says:

Ok cool, just clarifying the method in it in relation to the need. That makes sense then for you. I’m veering the other way but that’s because the situation is different. If it was simply that you thought it was better in terms of the team and strategy then that’d be another matter. Think I’ll hold off on mine then. Despite outscoring my lot the last few weeks the teams aren’t that dissimilar apart from a few and that’s a comfortable enough position for me this week.

        • Mitro says:

          Init

Going to hold out for another week!! 😉

      • Rosco77 says:

Yeah I’ve looked at it long and hard and came up with a few variations of teams I want ( not as many as Mitro mind!) and decided I’d be better off holding another week!
All FPL articles will be based around WC’s next week and I know I’ll be kicking myself if I’ve gone early and missed some key players or pick up some injuries!

When should I WC and use BB? I have 1 FT and 7.6 ITB. I have Heaton, Lanzini, Holgate and Amat who is useless on the bench.

      ChrisOllie25 says:

Sorry Negredo not Lanzini on the bench

Wild card next week and bench boost following.

      DMC says:

Tricky. The ones with tough fixtures are the ones you’d want in a wc team (Alli, Kane and Haz) whereas the ones with a nice looking game on 35 are the ones you’d probably ditch when preparing for 37 (Zaha, Benteke, King). Bailly and Pieters are fine for 35, so it’s down to choosing 3 from Jaku/Heaton, Chambers/Holgate/Amat and Lanzini/Negredo or WC.
With that in mind I’d probably play Jaku and Lanzini (Negredo if he scores vs sunderland in midweek) and use the FT to get a better defender and keep your WC. I see the good in using it now, on 35, but only if your team is already in bad shape, which I don’t think your is. If not, having it available for 36 will prove best I think, not only for the obvious injuries/suspensions reasons but also because, unlike last year, we have two teams on a double before the big DGW – arsenal and saints, of course, and seeing who they play on 35 will be crucial to choose theirs.
