Managers of the Round Table – Fantasy Premier League 2014-15
We have gathered up six prestigious members / writers around Mito’s Round Table to answer a few quick fire questions in the lead up to the opening of the FPL season. They have been asked to make choices over some of the same key questions many of us are currently facing. As one would expect we got a wide range of varying answers, everything from a unanimous decision on formation to six different choices for Flop of the Year. See what our esteemed panel answered and please share your answers and views below, including that tricky last question. And don’t be shy; they sure weren’t when expressing their man crush.
Below is a self-described introduction to their FPL playing style.

Nice article lads – looking like a tough slog for a CL spot for Liverpool is the consensus. Sorry to say that I agree.
Nice idea and pretty funny. Thanks lads! I’m quite shocked 2 of you have put Arsenal outside the top 4 this season… then again Luke Chadwig had me pretty shocked too. 😉
Great fun article lads and great to see the different views also – well done to Mito for organising and thanks to all the “pundits” for getting involved.
Giroud seems to be a popular choice as a looker, reckon that will just push his mrs over the edge :hippo:
Disciples of InIt?
Aren’t we all?
So chicken before the egg?
Thanks for including me Mito, was great fun!
Very nice article lads, thank you all!
Albertini, lovely to see you, how are you mate?
Hi Cookie! I’m well, thank you for asking mate, hope everything is good with you too.
I’ve been away from fantasy games since the end of last season’s EPL but now it’s time to get back and to start to build a good team. Already made a draft but I reckon it’s still early days with so many transfers still to be confirmed.
@Albertini, hello my friend! Any chance on some news on the current situation in Porto? Will Martinez stay? Is Quintero a likely starter this upcoming season?
Hi Mito! Congrats on Colombia’s WC, really good team with so many good players! You can imagine how I miss James playing here.
There has been a lot of talk re Martinez but it seems he’s about to put pen to a new contract which doesn’t means he will stay, it happened the same with Falcao when he signed for Atletico.
Re Quintero, it doesn’t look he might be a sure starter for the new season, inclusive there are a few rumors linking him with a move to Arsenal.
Porto will have a handful of candidates for his place in the team, from the few pre-season matches it looks like Oliver Torres (“wonderkid” on loan from Atletico Madrid) is the preferred one of Julen Lopetegui, the new manager.
Do you know Porto will be opening a football youth school at Bogotá? It’ll be the first we will have outside Portugal!
That’s great info! Not sure a move to Arsenal with all them mids is ideal for Quintero, I prefer he fight it out in Porto and earn his minutes.
Wonderful news on the school, with the way Colombians have been going through Porto I am sure it’s a club that will be embraced completely in Bogota ( Very much is already ) After the world cup everyone now sees that there is a good amount of talented Colombians out there to be had. Before the world cup it was only Porto and Udinese that took a chance on us. Forever in your gratitude.
Any chance of a RMT?
Green
Evans Huth Wisdom
Hazard Sanchez Siggy Nasri
Rooney Giroud Lukaku
Subs: Adrian Marney Mariappa Yun
Should I downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey and upgrade the defence?
Thoughts?
Anonymous,
I would yeah. I don’t like the Evans pick and would aim to get Shaw in there. Huth seems reasonable but all the others have a question mark on gametime.
Goalies rotate nicely but because you have Green, I would swap Yun to avoid double QPR in defence.
You could upgrade to Colocinni, any Sunderland defender, Neil Taylor of Swansea. Lots of good options at 4.5.
Good luck.
Thanks. Think I will go Yun to O’Shea for sure. I think Mariappa and Evans are nailed on so I might keep them and keep 1.0 in the bank.
Anonymous,
Any potential signing of a defender by Utd. puts Smalling, Jones and Evans’ places at risk.
Well I might just keep him until they sign one anyway. BTW I wont be using Yun until GW5 so should I just keep Sanchez and downgrade to Wally before GW5 as he’ll be fit by then?
Anonymous,
No way of knowing that you will want to take out Sanchez if you start with him – he could be undroppable!
That’s another reason to start with him
