Pottys Punters Weekly Review!!!
And what a week it was!
Saturday morning saw 62 punters in my bookies clutching their Score Predictions slips and after all 4 matches were completed we have 12 of you who got 1 prediction correct and each now have 3 points to their name and are up and running with a slot on the Potty’s Predictions League Table (this will be published on Thursday 5th December which will include GW13 results).
The Dirty Dozen are = Bigpopz, Drexl, Chopper, Jasprit, Sharmagisms, Desmo, Floydeth, Andy, Sanchez, NIN, Ronaldo and Bunnies.
The Pottys Bookies opening Launch Party went well. With DJ Raz on the Decks and Bench on bar duty it was always going to end up messy, but the highlight of it all was Mito dancing in his Potted Ankle to that dancefloor filler “I’m Jake the Peg, diddlediddlediddledum”.
The overall winner of the prize for GW12 was decided by a tie-breaker that was played on Wednesday night and I am delighted to announce that the winner was ……. NIN………..
Congratulations NIN!
To redeem your free £10 bet with Ladbrokes please e-mail the team at contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk and they will be in touch with details of how you do this. Be sure to tell us how you spent it and if you won!
Now listen in….a weekly award is now to run called “Pottys Plonker Punter of the Week” and the 1st winner of this is…….
With his first set of prediction’s containing 2 correct results and a would be outright winning card he only went and cancelled these for a revised set of predictions and lost his chance of being the free £10 bet Ladbrokes winner.
So…..
Pottys Plonker Punter of the Week this week is…….FLOYDETH.
This weeks competition…
So my fellow Potty Punters I know why you’re here so let’s cut straight to the chase and talk….Money.
The powers that be have informed Potty’s Bookies that each weekend that involves “Premier League Score Prediction’s” we must have a winner of the very generous “Free £10 Bet” from Ladbrokes. So, from now on I have incorporated a Weekly “time of the 1st Goal” tie-breaker that you must highlight in your Predictions like so…(15mins)..Simple isn’t it??
So onto the Weekends Matches..
Cardiff City v Arsenal (Saturday 30th)
Norwich City v Crystal Palace (Saturday 30th)
Hull City v Liverpool (Sunday 1st) and also “Time of the 1st Goal”
Chelsea v Southampton (Sunday 1st)
Good luck to you all.
Thank you all for tuning in and see you next Thursday.
Pottys World is your World too
Now post your Predictions below please.
Potty
Hey Cookie. Want me to rate your team?
Hey Jimbo, nothing would give me greater pleasure
I hope he is talking about your fpl team and not us. 😉
Annual reviews coming up…
Liking evra / kos. Great moves IMO. Am considering similar.
Forwards don’t require comment.
Concerns: Boruc / Brady / Nasri.
…plus your bench in general, given crimbo period game density.
That said, you continue to score very nicely.
Top 10k I see, good work mate…
Jimbo, thanks.
Am in my usual 58 minds as to what to do.
The bench is a big concern and my head tells me to get that sorted. Wilson out for Flanagan, Collins, Vlaar makes sense.
However, I really want to get Walcott in for the home game vs Hull, which would mean selling Nasri, which i’m fine with as City have 2 away games coming up and he ain’t really doing anything anyway. However, that would involve me selling Evra for one of the above defenders…or selling Dawson for Gabiddon……
Thoughts ?
I hope you get a decent response.
If you want wally then:
Dawson to gabbidon.
Plus
Nasri to wally.
Solid IMO.
I guess it comes down to what risk profile you are happy to run with.
I mean you’ll literally have no contingency if you’re not careful, but that may be out if choice if you see the upside outweighing the downside…
Jimbo – that’s exactly why my head tells me to deal with Wilson. Saying that I don’t often play with my head. I’ve kind of got away with Wilson and Chester rotting for a few weeks now, but have been lucky. To get Wally in, I will need to continue being lucky…saying that, playing with 10, although not recommended, is not always a disaster…I had Dawson (-1) last week !!!
Yeah. Dawson was on my bench last week.
He’ll remain there if I keep him this week.
After that he’s got two away fixtures, then pool and Southampton.
So yeah, less than excited about keeping him.
Thoughts on my team btw?
Mito, would love your take on it too mate. (And anyone else)
Boruc. Davis
Davies. Clyne. Baker. Dawson Gabbidon
Hazard. Gerrard. Ramsey. Toure. Johnson
Aguero. Rooney. Suarez
Boruc out?
Some def changes?
I’m not a Sunderland fan, Jimbo – i’d lose Johnson for Morrison or even JWP – then upgrade Baker to , well a number of options, depending on price…..Kos, Evans, Collins, Vlaar…..
I’ve got midfielder Johnson of villa fame. (He’s my 4m non-player.)
Baker’s only worth 3.9, and even with a big fat £100,000 sitting in my vault, I don’t think I’ve many options!
You don’t think Boruc is an obvious change?
Or swapping Dawson out for someone better?
Or both…
Alternative is to keep my FT (I’ve zero problems fielding a team plus subs) for next week.
I think a free transfer in this hectic week could very well save you a 4 point hit to field a team 2 days later. But I would watch the news on Boruc because he might be one mistakes away from getting the Joe Hart treatment.
Sorry Jimbo, misunderstood the Johnson !
My fear for this weekend and/or Tuesday is Ramsey getting a break – I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he didn’t start at Cardiff.
I’d sell Dawson first before Boruc – not really liking their fixtures, Kaboul back, Rose back in a couple of weeks so Vert goes back to the centre – therefore he’s not as guaranteed as he was, especially after the mauling last week.
I really like the Flanagan angle, but it would only be short-term – their fixtures are great and I would defo bring him in if I sold Evra AND after listening to Ted Rodgers presser tomorrow.
Thanks mate.
Yep. Boruc concerns me. A few alternatives out there. Krul is one, or I could take a risk and go with a cheaper option.
That’s allow me to switch Dawson up to mer or similar…
Cheers Blue.
I’ll take a look at flan too.
Btw. How do I join the Monaco national league?
Jimbo, you’re posh, but you’re not that posh
Internship with Blue should get you in! He can always use a hand scrubbing them hard to reach places.
I keep telling you, the yacht was a rental. My own one is far larger and has a tiger enclosure, a hooker cage and all sorts of other cool stuff…
I really want to join the Monaco league though.
It’s like choosing a battle location in tekken…
Jimbo, this is my own little private party, invite only – yacht size irrelevant. I can however, be bought…..
Ha!
I’ll have Nancy send a couple of the girls over with the usual “equipment”…
do you honestly think I can be bought as easily as that ??
3?
done
Cardiff City 0 v 2 Arsenal
Norwich City 1 v 1 Crystal Palace
Hull City 0 v 3 Liverpool
Chelsea 2 v 1 Southampton
first goal 7th minute
Cheers Potty
Have got no Chelsea midfielders who would you choose out of these 3
And who do you think will get the most PTS
Hazard. – Oscar – lampard
Hazard for big unsteady scores. Oscar for consistency. Lampard is the cheapest but also the biggest rotation risk.
Really don’t know what to do with my team. I need to replace Fonte, but by whom? If I think ahead it should be by a def. with the maximum costs of 5.2m so I can replace Ramsey with Wally next week.
On the other hand, some of the best defenders will just be out of reach. >.<
Hmmm. There is 1 other move I could consider. Kos for Fonte. I will be 0.1m short to get Wally. However… if I’m lucky Ramsey rises another 0.1m before that and I can just afford him next week. Good plan people?
Seems I’m the only one helping me. Aaah well, guess that’s for the best. Last year did much better on my own advise.
Plus talking to myself is a bonus. Will finally give me some clarity. I AM CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmmm, just noticed WHU conceded 3 goals on 4 occassions this season (that’s 1 out of the 3 games, in 2 fixtures they conceded 1 goals and the rest is all cleansheets (6 games). So it’s a 50/50 score for WHU. Without WInston Reid they seem to be losing big though. >.<
Get kos arsenal keeping a lot of clean sheet of late
That’s okay. Forlan will help them out score their opposition.
Aaaarghhhhh. I don’t know anymore. I’m quitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oops, on that note. Should get back at it before someones notices me lackluster performances. 😛
Ja ne.
Flanagan may be worth taking notice raz!
Cardiff City 0 v 2 Arsenal
Norwich City 1 v 0 Crystal Palace
Hull City 0 v 3 Liverpool 1st goal @7
Chelsea 3 v 1 Southampton
Cardiff City 1 v 3 Arsenal
Norwich City 0 v 0 Crystal Palace
Hull City 2 v 3 Liverpool (32nd minute)
Chelsea 2 v 0 Southampton
How the hell does that make sense? 😛
I’m so poor at predicting scores, lol. Did it one time, I think EC 2012 with some friend. I utterly failed. Because of that I found out about this though. FPL more my cup of tea. Now I can have certain players from certain teams, they may score big but their teams are still allowed to lose. When predicting scores you usually let the team win you don’t want to win, lose-lose since I like underdogs and not so much the money teams/big countries.
Raz i have no idea what im doing here. Im really poor in predicting scores, so i just put in random numbers. lol. But i make sure big teams win in my prediction.
If there was Fulham in there, you would see a clean sheet and 5 goals for them.
