Pre-season Hub for the 2017/18 FPL season

Hello and welcome to the Pre Season Hub for the 2017/18 season.
For those both old and new to the site this is an article which aims to bring to you in one convenient place, all the vital news from each of the twenty Premier League clubs’ friendly matches this summer. The ultimate aim is to build up a portfolio of information to help you in selecting your opening FPL squad when the game re-opens week commencing 10th July (next week)!

The hub is very much a living document which I personally will keep up to date as the matches take place. I encourage you guys to help out with any line-ups, goal scoring or assist information. We also like to see general notes being left here if you happened to witness on screen, or better still, in person, any particular player performance, style etc. Basically anything you deem FPL worthy.

How to use…
The whole article is intrinsically linked to the HOT COMMENTS section that appears above the Latest Comments. Basically we have created a comment link for each team. Simply scroll to the Hot Comments for the team you require info on and it’ll take you to their section and we will have all their pre-season info in one place courtesy of our fantastic community members.

The purpose of this is so that –
1. There is a specific place to post relevant pre-season info for each team –
Please post any findings – line-ups, signings, team news, match reports, etc…

2. It’s easy to find all the info.
Need to know the pre-season line-ups for Arsenal? Easy, just click on their link in Hot Comments and you will come to their hub.

So with the first pre-season friendlies involving FPL relevant teams taking place this Saturday the 8th with Watford beginning their schedule, please find below the fixtures…

(NB: At this stage there will still be pre-season matches being announced and I will endeavour to update these as we go along. Southampton for instance only have one friendly scheduled so far but this can be excused by their new manager only just arriving – expect further announcements soon).

      banjomaker says:

Luk & Kun for me. I think City will score the most goals, and I think Kun will lead the line. I’m ever so weary for Spurs, playing at Wembley at not improving their squad.

      • straygoat says:

I agree with Smash, Spurs as they line up today are a top team and I expect they will sign a couple.

        • banjomaker says:

I can’t see Spurs finishing higher than 4th. City and United will be much better this year. And I really do think the Wembley factor will hurt them. The Lane was a fortress for them last year, whereas everyone will raise their game for a day out at Wembley. With Liverpool and Arsenal improving I wouldn’t be surprised if they slip right down the league. I agree that their starting 11 are solid, but a couple of injuries and they’re pretty screwed. I have Alli and Trippier at the moment, but I wont wait for long before shipping them if I have to.

        • straygoat says:

I reckon finishing second will be beyond them this time, but they are a settled side and are maturing together. Can still see Citeh conceding soft goals and dropping unexpected points, Arsenal being their usual selves, and Liverpool being pretty much the same again. Even if Sanchez stays at Arsenal, they don’t all seem to be singing off the same hymn sheet. Utd are the only side I see being a lot better than last year.

Wrote another article if anyone is interested; it isn’t FPL-oriented so can see why you wouldn’t be :p

@AT, “The defence registered 17 shut-outs last season, only equaled by the league’s bore-draw experts Manchester United.” hehehe

Appreciate the article mate, just read it. Didn’t know you guys were in for Foyth. I really like him, solid player. Very skilled on the ball for a CB, like unusually skilled. Think I overheard the commentators saying he played as a 10 (cam) in Estudiantes youth system, so that could be the reason.

      Will retweet your article now.

    Init,

If you please, an IT lesson for your favourite “emailer”. I’m pretty sure I linked my team properly (so you confirmed about a month ago), but when I did a RMT yesterday, Silvers rightly said he could not “see” my team. It certainly didn’t appear inside my missive yesterday.
Am I missing a step when it comes to seeking a RMT? Do I somehow have to make my website visible within a submission?
    Best from urban Canada.

      inittowinit says:

      Hi Ki,

Shows up as linked as Richard Apostle, that’s correct isn’t it? Issue may be, in terms of a GW1 RMT, that we can’t go from your past season history page to see your current selection. This is normal right now as we shouldn’t be able to or else your ML opponent would be able to see where you are up to etc. That element only works from GW2 onwards – we can then see your GW1 team as it was. We can never see your next weeks team until it is finalised.

      Hope that makes sense!

So in terms of getting a GW1 RMT you have to either type it out or take a pic of it and attach it. Either way it eliminates laziness laugh

    Excellent! Exactly the problem.
Back to working on my “picture”.
