Pre-season Hub for the 2017/18 FPL season
Hello and welcome to the Pre Season Hub for the 2017/18 season.
For those both old and new to the site this is an article which aims to bring to you in one convenient place, all the vital news from each of the twenty Premier League clubs’ friendly matches this summer. The ultimate aim is to build up a portfolio of information to help you in selecting your opening FPL squad when the game re-opens week commencing 10th July (next week)!
The hub is very much a living document which I personally will keep up to date as the matches take place. I encourage you guys to help out with any line-ups, goal scoring or assist information. We also like to see general notes being left here if you happened to witness on screen, or better still, in person, any particular player performance, style etc. Basically anything you deem FPL worthy.
How to use…
The whole article is intrinsically linked to the HOT COMMENTS section that appears above the Latest Comments. Basically we have created a comment link for each team. Simply scroll to the Hot Comments for the team you require info on and it’ll take you to their section and we will have all their pre-season info in one place courtesy of our fantastic community members.
The purpose of this is so that –
1. There is a specific place to post relevant pre-season info for each team –
Please post any findings – line-ups, signings, team news, match reports, etc…
2. It’s easy to find all the info.
Need to know the pre-season line-ups for Arsenal? Easy, just click on their link in Hot Comments and you will come to their hub.
So with the first pre-season friendlies involving FPL relevant teams taking place this Saturday the 8th with Watford beginning their schedule, please find below the fixtures…
(NB: At this stage there will still be pre-season matches being announced and I will endeavour to update these as we go along. Southampton for instance only have one friendly scheduled so far but this can be excused by their new manager only just arriving – expect further announcements soon).

The Fixture Tracker…
12 year olds perhaps? Just release the fcking game and let people get on with it
You should tweet that at them.
Not my style, I prefer to do it vicariously through you 😉
Besides, I’m not sure the wound has healed enough on this one yet….
Well ok, hold on, I don’t mind saying it.
Wow I can’t contain myself now
Mito here with the much anticipated TDF update.
Quick note guys: I will update it every day, please stop harassing me to get it on here.
Thanks, Management!
Well another sprinter ending, think it is fair to say that we all agree that Kittel won.
This helped yesterday’s top scorer to once again pile up the points. Cookie came in second for the stage with Boasson-Hagen helping him score big points, decent scoring for a guy who got thoroughly defeated in today’s sprint. Mito who owns Kittel scored well and came in 3rd, D’Alessandro comes in 4th and will like his chances in the next two stages to start racking up good scores more consistently. Init still living off one guy and 3 Naismiths scores decently. Kop is tucked right behind Init looking to draft. Bry has a mediocre day with only 107 points and Lawdogg does a Lawdogg, dead last on the stage, in the overall, in everything.
We also have the new overall standings, which sees Init have his lead dwindled to a measly 14 points. Cookie is on the chase and getting ever closer to claiming a spot he will undoubtedly give up on the last day. Kop is still in the race, but will need some shenanigans to go on for him to stand any real chance of winning it all. James from Antarctica is in white hot form and has threw his name in the hat. Mito sits 5th, one figures that after 3 stage wins out of 7 races they have him lapping the field, but this game is rigged. Bry sits in sixth and is fading, luckily his jersey looks as good as ever though. D’Alessandro sits 8th and will need to get rolling now if he wants any chance to contend. Lawdogg….FFS!
My guys were all slated as ‘having a day off’. And boy did they take it literally! Probably wise though given the next two of extreme hill climbs. Looking for a decent lead again come Monday before the flats once more.
Got an inkling that Kittel may see some dirt over these climbs 😉
He won’t see any dirt, by the time he comes through it will be night.
Thank you Mito – the next 2 days should separate the men from the boys.
Monday is probably your best chance of not losing more ground, though by then you may not even be no.1 in your own house 😉
Just need one of my guys to go on the breakaway on stage 9 and win it. A climber could conceivably win all 3 HC and the stage points and garner almost 400 points on their own. Just need one of these t**ts on my team to step up and get me through these mountain stages and back into the flat.
C’mon Pinot
Happy days
Becoming a selling club and flogging your best players is never a good sign mate….
Sorry, did I miss the Fellaini story ? 😉
No. You missed my irony
I didn’t!
Double edged irony then Nobody wants either of them
I think there is a load of irony regarding a few of the players at both clubs.
No idea why you want Rooney, yeah he has experience but look at his dip in performance over the last 2 years. Don’t get it at all.
I see Everton are trying to get United to pay some of his wages!!
We don’t particularly need or want him right now.
Whatever the climb down in wages is he should just accept it if it’s to be done. He wants it, he doesn’t want to move abroad, he doesn’t want to move house full stop. They’ll compromise and it’ll be confirmed over the weekend officially if it hasn’t been already while typing this.
Fixture Tracker Updated
Now has the deadline dates added since the TV announcements yesterday

Thanks Init
Thanks init, and hi everyone good to be back
@Wafflez, good to see you roll back in, looks like we are officially on our last weekend off. Let’s Go!!
yea FPL will start on monday?
Any day from Monday onwards. My guess is Tuesday but no idea why.
Official statement from United
Considering United’s fixtures he almost feels like a must have from the start.
Esp if he has a half decent preseason
Sadly FPL will be hard at work now re-pricing him at 12mln
He had a nice pre-season at Chelsea a couple of years back and a DGW in GW1, ah the memories.
Is that when you overdosed on Reading defenders ?!
No silly, that year I had no one from CFC, was my first ever fpl season. The Lukaku at CFC season, I had him week 1 among others, think Benteke went off that week.
