Pre-season Hub for the 2017/18 FPL season
Hello and welcome to the Pre Season Hub for the 2017/18 season.
For those both old and new to the site this is an article which aims to bring to you in one convenient place, all the vital news from each of the twenty Premier League clubs’ friendly matches this summer. The ultimate aim is to build up a portfolio of information to help you in selecting your opening FPL squad when the game re-opens week commencing 10th July (next week)!
The hub is very much a living document which I personally will keep up to date as the matches take place. I encourage you guys to help out with any line-ups, goal scoring or assist information. We also like to see general notes being left here if you happened to witness on screen, or better still, in person, any particular player performance, style etc. Basically anything you deem FPL worthy.
How to use…
The whole article is intrinsically linked to the HOT COMMENTS section that appears above the Latest Comments. Basically we have created a comment link for each team. Simply scroll to the Hot Comments for the team you require info on and it’ll take you to their section and we will have all their pre-season info in one place courtesy of our fantastic community members.
The purpose of this is so that –
1. There is a specific place to post relevant pre-season info for each team –
Please post any findings – line-ups, signings, team news, match reports, etc…
2. It’s easy to find all the info.
Need to know the pre-season line-ups for Arsenal? Easy, just click on their link in Hot Comments and you will come to their hub.
So with the first pre-season friendlies involving FPL relevant teams taking place this Saturday the 8th with Watford beginning their schedule, please find below the fixtures…
(NB: At this stage there will still be pre-season matches being announced and I will endeavour to update these as we go along. Southampton for instance only have one friendly scheduled so far but this can be excused by their new manager only just arriving – expect further announcements soon).

The Fixture Tracker…
Harry Maguire…..
That’s a decent price, all things considered. Expected 0.5 more.
I think it’s bang on, first one I’ve agreed with to be honest.
Yeah I was expecting 5. Hoping Danny Simpson will be cheaper. Hope you guys are having a good summer
Salah at 9 million is too much for me. Think it’s going to be tougher than last year at this rate
We say that every year Smash
Very true Kop. Liverpool have a lot of decent midfield options anyway. We always have Rooney lol
Just complicates further an already complicated situation!
Kop where do you see him fitting in there, or more importantly where do the rest fit in alongside him? Difficult to say without a forward I know!
He said he wants pace so I’d expect Mane and Salah on the flanks. He loves Firmino so he will be up top. Coutinho was played a bit deeper towards the end of the season. Someone has to miss out though between Lallana and the Dutch guy as Henderson will hold. But yeah looks like a mine field with the points to be spread out. That’s just my thoughts
Hello, Mito here with your Tour de France update.
While there was more action on the stage today it was a bit of snooze fest in fantasy circles. Which is exactly as the our fantasy and Chris Froome would want it from here on in.
Init was the top scorer for the day with 228, perhaps the only excitement today was that we saw Lawdogg finally have a pulse as he came in for the stage with 169 points. Bry picked up the third spot and he was followed by James from somewhere. Kop cam in 6th and Cookie was 20 points behind him in 7th. D’Alessandro came in 8th and the other guy in the competition came in last, his name slips my mind just now.
In the overall we see Init extend his lead to 133 points over Cookie, 24 points behind Cookie we see our tongue-tied Irishman. James from Antarctica settles into 4th, Our hero Mito sits 5th, Bry sits sixth in the overall just about where you would expect a Sheffield Wednesday supporter to sit. D’Alessandro comes in 7th and needs his guys to make a stand tomorrow in what might be the toughest stage and our favourite basement dweller, Lawdogg trails all.
Thanks Mito, can Inittofroomeit be caught from here?
We’re not even half way through yet, of course I can! I’ve shed riders like Jordan on a hen do so far.
Yeah, but it will take the tour being undone a little. If things go as expected it is going to be hard, but several of the other players have guys in their squads that are capable of placing high. For you it basically comes down to Martin really outdoing Aru the rest of the way and Yates and Boassen-Hagen catching up with his 3 sky riders in terms of points. You definitely stand a chance, but Aru has looked good. Think tomorrow we will know a lot, in terms of the Tour and our fantasy game.
Aru is my underlying key here. If he stays the course and scores consistently as he has then I have a chance.
Aru is definitely benefitting from missing the Giro d’Italie. Was a good spot that Init.
Yeah, I knew that….
Morning all Eve looking to bring in Siggy interesting move just a shame there first 5 fixtures are difficult 😉
That’s a seriously good piece of business.
Better business would be holding onto Barkley rather than getting Siggy, surely?
Personally I’d rather have Siggy.
I think I would prefer to have Sigurdsson as well in truth.
That said, I’m very interested to see where Barkley ends up. I think it’s personal between Koeman and he. If your face doesn’t fit with Koeman, you aren’t going to last.
I really like Siggy but my worry is he likes to be a big fish in a small pond. I may be wrong.
For me all the potential is with Barkley – but if Koeman can’t get develop his potential then he best cash in I spose.
Massive shame though. He will do well somewhere and it could be Everton with the right management.
I take on board that point Cookie. Some will say that was why it never worked at Tottenham for him. However I think he is a much improved player since then. I would like to see how he got on again at a bigger club but I would just be happy to see him stay in the league and get to watch him.
Full flow I love watching Barkley. Virtually unplayable at times.
Any of the 247 team about still having trouble going to the 2nd page on comments no tabbed button.
It wasn’t a natural part of the new comment software which was installed, it’s being added back on next week.
Cheers Init
