Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 3
We gear up towards Gameweek 3 in FPL and the last before our first international break of the season, by taking a look at the predicted line-ups as brought to you by our friends at Drafthound.
A reminder of what brought us to this point:
If you can’t do something properly don’t bother doing it at all…
The above title is a bit of a motto of FF247. And it sort of explains why we used to do this article but then suddenly stopped. The truth of the matter is that it simply became too much work for the team. Following every word of every press conference and then analysing that info and translating it into a line-up… twenty times, was quite frankly a bit too time consuming. The knock on effect was that it also pulled some key personnel away from the site on a Thursday and Friday. So we got into a situation whereby we had RMT’s stacking up and nobody to answer them! Would you rather the likes of Smash, GP and Init be stuck behind a computer waiting to report on information that you could simply Google or see on Twitter for yourself or would you prefer them to be on site answering your very own specific FPL question? In some cases it would be the former but hey ho….
However… it seems that this was always our most viewed article each week. Yep, we’d send our team out each week to research and write thousands of words and it turns out that people would rather just look at a picture of a team sheet with their FPL player of choice on it! Don’t worry, we get it, we do it ourselves.
As such we always wanted to bring it back… but without the hassle. Over the past 18 months we have had offers from other websites to share their info but we never landed on one that we trusted had done their due diligence. We would never present something to you that we didn’t trust in. During the Euros though we found a common ground amongst the team who were all using, and somewhat trusting, Drafthound with their line-ups. Turns out they do FPL ones too! Having researched their accuracy Init & Mito both declared them to be over 95% accurate, which is bloody good in that particularly precarious game of managerial mind games, subterfuge and downright lies.
To make something of a mockery of our above statement of doing stuff yourself we are therefore delighted to delegate all responsibilty to our new partners in the weekly game of Guess Who – Drafthound!
We continue this article by keeping it as simple as possible with just the line-ups, as predicted by Drafthound and as ever we shall take it from there and it will no doubt evolve over time so just bear with us on that journey.
Two important things to bear in mind;
- We trust Drafthound. They will have done their research into all this, especially given what they do, just as we used to, but these things are a ‘best guess’ exercise at best. Usual leeway should be accounted for, etc.
- Given their time and effort in providing this content for us it would be rude not to occasionally click on the Drafthound link and check out their own fabulous content as there are FPL articles aplenty on there too.

From a macro point of view, now the situation is to change the team formation in coming weeks. We are all settled for 2-3 forwards from 6.5-8m range. With Kane/Luka/Ronnie and if City signs someone, we need to create at least one 13.5m placeholder in FWD line – which is quite a big shift and requires surgery in other places (not sure if I can afford that in 2 transfers).
This looks like a season for Hop on Hop off. Whoever does it better, will do well.
Bye Bruno
Thoughts on this? Tempted to WC out Bruno, Greenwood and my non playing bench and get the team sorted now. 0.7ITB for Kane to CR7. Can’t be more than 13m.
My WC team looks very similar, although I went Vardy instead of Lukaku for this Gw, and I have 2.7 itb. My plan is to keep Kane and swap Vardy for Ronaldo, and then reassess things GW7 when Chelsea’s fixtures improve.
Really nice thought on Vardy. Have you tried to keep Salah or did you go Jota?
Too early for a wildcard for me. Next week at earliest plus I’d prefer to see stuff settle down a bit first
+1 (times infinity)
Next Mbappe gets shanghai’d to City. Total chaos with big names and big fees this year I feel…
I would normally definatly agree however with 3 non playing bench players and the likes of Barnes, Jota and Greenwood I could have a tough week, so going now bring in Kane capo.
Wolves must be shitting themselves.
Imagine dealing with Bruno, Pogba, Sancho and CR7
Ronaldo surely won’t make it to the weekend game you know that right.
Exactly
Maybe just a short welcome back cameo in the last 10 minutes
Capo?
Son or antonio
Or Kane if you have him
So I decided to take a gamble and take a 4 point hit .making 3 changes in the end. lost Barnes, Shaw and Toney and in came DCL, Ben and Duffy.
theory being that Toney is bleeding value DCL has gone up .2 already and gone to beat the price rise drops and play a more 3.5.2 now until after the break and maybe looking at WC in 5 or 6. Its also left .8 in the bank to play with most players in team gaining ££ Fixtures seem to support DCL over Ings . And gone with the team here and capt Antonio. what’s your thoughts all? I reckon the 4 point hit should be justified hopefully with DCL this weekend. (famous last words)
