Premier League Football Tips Gameweek 12
Gameweek 12 in the Fantasy Premier League promises to be one of the toughest yet, with the schedule throwing up some truly mouthwatering match-ups.
The Liverpool versus Manchester City clash is the standout fixture, although it undoubtedly presents a dilemma for FPL managers.
Last year’s corresponding fixture finished goalless, meaning that defenders from both sides could be amongst the points this weekend.
However, with so much attacking talent on display a repeat of the 4-3 scoreline from their 2018 meeting at Anfield isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.
Read on as we look at four players who could be amongst the FPL points during the next round of matches.
Time to turn to Mane
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane (£12 million) is now the top points scoring midfielder in the FPL and his recent form makes him difficult to ignore.
A goal and assist in the Reds’ 2-1 victory at Aston Villa helped Mane bag 12 points last weekend, taking his tally to six goals and four assists this season.
With City struggling with injuries at the moment, the Senegalese star could easily prove a profitable pick if he maintains his current level of form.
A winnable run of fixtures after the City game makes Mane a must-have player for FPL managers over the coming weeks, especially with him being one of the favourites for this season’s Golden Boot award.
Abraham silencing the doubters
There were plenty of pundits who doubted Tammy Abraham’s ability to be a success in the Premier League. Yet as off now, he is proving himself more than worthy, positioning himself at the Top 10 Goalscorers for the 2019/20 season, with nine goals and two assists for Chelsea that have moved him up to second in the FPL forward standings and he looks a snip at just £7.9m.
The Blues host Crystal Palace this weekend and Abraham will fancy his chances of adding to his tally against Roy Hodgson’s side.
Chelsea triumphed 3-1 in the corresponding fixture back in November 2018 and should create plenty of chances for Abraham this weekend.
Lundstram a value selection
Sheffield United’s 3-0 victory over Burnley last weekend once again rewarded FPL managers who gambled on picking their players.
The result was the fifth time the Blades had kept a clean sheet this season, leaving them with six players in the top 20 standings for defenders.
John Lundstram is their top performer in the game, racking up 68 points after being utilised as a midfielder by manager Chris Wilder.
With underperforming Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United next on the agenda, Lundstram is unquestionably a value selection at just £4.8m.
Soyuncu starring for Leicester
A strong 14-point performance against Crystal Palace fired Caglar Soyuncu up to seventh in the FPL list of defenders.
Aside from his side’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool, the Leicester City defender has scored points every week and looks a bargain buy at just £4.8m.
The Foxes face Arsenal on Saturday and the Turk is capable of adding to his tally against the out-of-form Gunners.
Leicester’s fixture list over the next few weeks looks extremely favourable, making Soyuncu a solid choice for FPL managers.
