Site Team Gameweek 1
Hello and welcome to Site Team Gameweek 1. Seeing as FPL opened about 4 months ago, you would think we would have spent hours formulating our plans for the team, endlessly researching the stats and pre-season appearances of the players and balancing our budget to accommodate the must haves and the dark horses.
No. We all forgot about it until the Taskmaster that is Mito, clipped us round the ear and made us do stuff. Well, even then it was just to say if we liked ‘his’ team that he had created for us.
( …and even still we have our suspicions that The Legend played Twitter roulette and copied the first template he found).
But guess what? We all, in the main, loved the draft. A little tweak here and there to justify our enormous salaries but by and large we felt great and FPL could start in five minutes time if it liked.
Then Watkins came off injured.
Then Robertson did his ankle.
Then Toney had a knock.
Then Watkins was OK again.
And going to be playing in the middle!
It’s great to be back!
The Squad
OK so we know what you’re thinking and yes, we have taken the plunge on Tsimikas. His three assists and nice fixtures have us on the end of the line. We double him up with Trent and the obvious Mohamed Salah pick rounds off our maximum Liverpool exposure. Curiously Jota wasn’t given any thought so we must all be happy without him.
We don’t want to be faffing about with goalkeeper transfers at any stage (except maybe the wildcard(s)) so we’ll spend just £8.5mln and go all in on Watford with Bachmann and Foster offering an assured goalkeeper each week (don’t mention the ‘C’ word).
Joining the Liverpool lads in defence then are Luke Shaw, Luke Ayling and Ben White – who really should have been called Luke by his parents. We will likely use 3 defenders most weeks at the start and those will likely be our Liverpool two and Shaw but incase we don’t and/or we need a sub we are nicely covered.
Bruno is in and it shouldn’t take that much explaining and we have Raphinha and Harvey Barnes rounding off the spots in there. We usually always like the look of Leeds’ and Leicester’s attack and these two seem quite assured there and each for a favourable price as well. Burnley’s Josh Brownhill is the back up.
Our attackers are Danny Ings Ollie Watkins, Michail Antonio and Ivan Toney in what will now be known as the *drumroll*
‘AN-TONEY-KINS’
… we’ll work on that and come back to you …
There you have it. We have no plans to play early chips or wildcards and will see where the game takes us this season.
Captain
I don’t think this one needs any explaining, nor does the vice.

So Mahrez and ESM it is instead of Grealish and Barnes , don’t have the nerves to see Grealish on the bench on Sunday
Bees, do you ever check back your comments when asking questions?
Post 34…..
I did…I did…I did…but starting freaking out re him not starting.
My current sort of last draft. keeping it cheap up front and sticking with the 4.5 striker strategy and going for more points in mid and defense and look at it in a few weeks with options to see if grealish is playing reg to free up some £… should be enough there to rotate around and cover for a few weeks without to many changes needed.
whats your thoughts guys.
Looks good
I like it Roffee
Very nice!
One last question for my final team:
Reece James (starter)
Billy Gilmour (sub)
Adam Armstrong (starter)
Or
Ben Chilwell (starter)
Smith-Rowe (starter)
Perica (sub)
2nd one
+1
Option 2
Evening gents would anyone kindly like to check my team out any opinions would be appreciated
Not bad, not sure on Pope or Dallas though. Easy switch to Sanchez and Raph/Harrison?
What Gear says.
Looks good, No1! My main criticism is that there’s no Salah (but I see you’ve gone with Lukaku and Bruno instead with Jota as cover). You could save money on downgrading Pope to another 4.5m (or a 4m) GK and then upgrade Dallas to a Raphinha or the like?
Thanks for all the comments guys if anyone could elaborate on why no love for dallas he was the highest scoring mid for Leeds last season
He was a defender last season, hence why he scored so highly. Can’t see him replicating that as a midfielder.
A. Mahrez and Scarlett (no Villa and 352)
B. Ings and a 5.5 mid or less like ESR or Gilmour to save the cash (no city and 343)
Depends on your team, but I’d say B because of Villa’s first three fixtures (and who knows how many minutes Mahrez will play)
Team looks like this Zed
Yeah think the fixtures for Villa sway it for me, definitely B. Think I’d just save the cash and go for a 4.5m mid there and get Raphinha out rocking! You never know when you’ll need that 0.5m (for Lukaku for instance)
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Just no City could be scary too.
It would also leave a mil itb but yeah Lukaku in would be a move I look at!
Are you hoping Scarlett plays? I don’t even know who that is Out of those I’d go option 2, with ESR. Have you considered Gundo as City cover and a bit of change?
He’s the least owned 4.5 fwd so less likely to get a price drop.
Even if I went Gundo as my 5th mid it would mean no Ings anyway
Ah makes sense. So you’re just happy having a non starter keeping the bench warm. Ings and ESR is gonna leave you a regular selection headache. If you go that route I think I’d go Ings and Gilmour and save the change.
That’s fair Banjo. Cheers mate the no City scares me though. It’s definitely a tough one.
He’s 17 so might be a bit early to break through. However there’s massive hype about him and probably has a bright future as they are expecting him to come through
Yea I’m not sure on Dallas. Think I’d go ESR. I’d also be starting Tsimikas.
