It’s always frustrating when you’re 0.1 short of your favoured transfer. Worse still, to have to watch said player (Jota) get on the score-sheet and the fallback option (Lukaku) fail to make the starting 11, and then do nothing in the minutes (21) that he did get. Our GW14 score makes for grim reading. Only 3 of our 11 returned; Salah (obviously) Raphinha (fortuitously) and Smith-Rowe (controversially). A paltry 12 points from our other 8 made a bad game-week one to forget – fast. Lucky for us (yay) we’re straight back into it.
57 points total, 1 below the average and a big juicy red arrow that sees us drop to 162k. Not the end of the world.
Our GW14 Result…
We have £1.8m ITB and 1 FT as we quickly jump to GW15. What did we decide to do with that!
Our GW15 Transfer(s)
What we should have done last week. The process was very quick, with a majority of four carrying the move before the other 3 (that make up the committee) had even had a chance to respond. Gallagher to Jota was the move, quickly seconded, thirded and fourthed… now I’m just making up words. This move was less about anything that Gallagher has done wrong, and more about what Jota has done right, and of course what the potential damage of not owning him will make.
We have the exact cash to make the move and we’ll not be hanging around to watch Diogo rise again. Who said we don’t learn from our mistakes eh?
Looking ahead, the wildcard that’s been somewhat forgotten about will likely come into play soon. We have issues, Bachmann in goal (although Watford fixtures do pick up soon) the forgotten man Ayling sat bandaged up on our bench perpetually and a few players who have a fixture turn (for the worse). Then there’s Antonio and Toney, but I’m sure we’re not alone with a decision on what to do with that pair. We’ve done well to hold it this long, but with our focus moving to the Xmas period and a fixture turn for a certain Manchester side who play in red, the wait could almost be over. Watch this space.

It’s getting boring right? But we’re not going to be the first to blink. Another unanimous vote this week (from the four who bothered to actually contribute) with the armband once more entrusted to the Egyptian king. Lukaku retains the VC with hopes he makes the starting 11 this week.

I would keep Kane if I had him, dropping him before Norwich seems an act of self-harm.
Yes re Ramsdale though the deeply unfashionable de Gea has really good fixtures and is pretty cheap these days.

I’d wait. -4 on a player versus City doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I know he’s in form etc etc. But it can wait. See it as an exercise in delayed gratification.

So, we have Kane who has scored 5 goals in his last 3 games against Norwich. On the other side Bernardo from a team which have notched 17 goals in their last 3 visits to Watford.
Do we still go with template Salah (C) and whatever…….

Salah for me anyway, to answer your actual question. He really is on fire, not a weak flame like Dennis, and Wolves don’t tend to carry City-style extinguishers with them.

Last time around almost got into a massive mistake picking Kane. That said, think he will shock us all this time.
I hope so as I kept faith but that’s wearing pretty thin now with Ronnie lurking menacingly and Lukaku back. Ish.
I have too much spare time so i did this. If you would navigate perfect between captains and pick the right one every single week you would end up with 159 captain-points.

I just took the points from ”kings of the week”. In gw 11 and 12 none of the players that you would make captain was in that team and i just gave them 3 points. I have excluded players that took alot of points but you wouldnt captain anyway, Sarr and players like that…
By sticking with Salah every week you would have 146 captain-points now.

True. I only counted players that’s really been a captain option. Only Bruno and salah have been ”real” captain options from the players in that picture….

I doubt someone would have picked Cash or House in GW 5 and 6
If my OR was starting to tank I think I may cross my fingers and choose Kane. Choosing a City midfielder as captain is bordering on foolishness, unless certain players have emerged as nailed (I’ve tuned out of City).
Otherwise it’s not one of the more difficult choices. Liverpool tend to create a chance or two.
Wilson was a saviour in this week for me. I’m thinking an obvious Kane to Ronaldo this week. But I could also do Gallagher or Luis to Odegaard or Smith-Rowe. Thoughts?
