Another week/Another Green Arrow
Easy this game – OK so we are only spitting difference away from the weekly average but those +9 points have brought us up to 392,480 and only two points away from the 300-point mark for the season.
We captained Ronaldo at home to Newcastle and stole a march on the two people in total who didnt and he landed us 26 points. Those 26 nestle neatly between the 34 points Salah grabbed us at Norwich and the 22 haul Antonio secured at home to Palace. Three captain successes in the opening four is very very welcome.
Salah got us 8 points thanks to his goal at Leeds and the rest was a case for the defence. TAA (12), White and Shaw (both 5). The rest a collections of 1s, 2s and 3s. Oh and a -1 for our former favourite Antonio. What have you done for us lately, Michail?

Our Gameweek 5 Transfer(s)
With Rafa El Gaffer being so open pre-Burnley in explaining to us that DCL is out and will be for at least 2-3 weeks with toe (and potentially other) problems, then we decided that we’ll take that as gospel (more fool us?) and with our one free transfer, we were after a forward replacement for this week (and short/medium term). The rest of our side is in pretty good condition so we are afforded the luxury of a straight swap.
Antonio is to be benched. Although it wasn’t openly discussed in full, it was taken as read that we’ll back the West Ham striker to come back in in time for Leeds and Brentford. Noice.
Bamford was suggested by one of the team and this was quickly seconded, thirded and fourth-ded (?). In comes Paddy lad and as a consequence we now have more Leeds than the Kaiser Chiefs!
To confirm then we have SOLD DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN and BOUGHT PATRICK BAMFORD
Captain – MOHAMED SALAH
Salah hoovered up the early votes and was never likely to be realistically challenged this week. As for vice, our resident United fan doesn’t like the Red Devils’ chances this weekend (not in those exact words but stuff it! … I’m shaming him!) and he voted for Bamford. Everyone else realises that should the worst happen to Salah, CR7 is the sensible VC choice.

Great team. Very similar to mine. Any news on Martinez- I may be without a GK again this week.
Thinking soon to take out Bamford & TAA to get Coady & Lukaku??
If you have a FT I would anyway recommend go for a cheaper / different GK. How many CS have Villa kept so far? I think Sa from Wolves (wow those fixtures coming up) or Sanchez from Brighton are better value for money. But if you don’t have a FT, better ride it. I think Marti would start though. No real reason why he should not. Its’ not like he is coming from a injury layoff or needs time to gel with the team..
Thanks. I used my FT to get Bamford for DCL. I’ll just hope Martinez plays and gets a couple of points at least. I don’t want to take a hit.
Bamford with the fixtures and Leeds style of play is enticing. But Isn’t Jimnez a good shout too. Has the fixtures for sure. Has been shooting a lot as well though none has really hit the net, the back of it at least. Especially that you have Raphinha already.
Just a thought though.
He is but Bamford is already off the mark this season so that’s why we’ve gone with him.
I am 0.2m short of Antonio to Bamford (which I would do in a heartbeat if I had the monies)… So I am eying up Jimenez as a potential alternative… The thing with Jimenez is he has been rusty thus far, not really sold on him, but I might not have any other option either. Maybe Richarlison, but the gist of this is I would definitely get Bamford if I could!!!
Would u prefer sissoko or Mc Arthur?

On a wildcard, any suggestions before the deadline?
I’ve seen a few people choose James, but isn’t he a rotation risk? Also Vlasic may be a threat to Benrahma’s minutes. Defence possibly a little light too.
I quite like this squad.
I think it’s quite a padded side. In addition there’s a player in there subject to rotation . I personally wouldn’t risk this side.
If you scan back you’ll see some better balanced wildcard sides. Generally playing 4 at the back allows less filler.

Looks great! I’ve gone for Salah simply due to his record against them.
MAYBE Williams for reguillon (Im thinking this myself right now)
And Ronaldo is always a good choice.
