Welcome to the FF247 FPL Site Team for Gameweek 5

Another week/Another Green Arrow

Easy this game – OK so we are only spitting difference away from the weekly average but those +9 points have brought us up to 392,480 and only two points away from the 300-point mark for the season.

We captained Ronaldo at home to Newcastle and stole a march on the two people in total who didnt and he landed us 26 points. Those 26 nestle neatly between the 34 points Salah grabbed us at Norwich and the 22 haul Antonio secured at home to Palace. Three captain successes in the opening four is very very welcome.

Salah got us 8 points thanks to his goal at Leeds and the rest was a case for the defence. TAA (12), White and Shaw (both 5). The rest a collections of 1s, 2s and 3s. Oh and a -1 for our former favourite Antonio. What have you done for us lately, Michail?

Our Gameweek 4 Result…

Let’s go see what was decided…

Our Gameweek 5 Transfer(s)

With Rafa El Gaffer being so open pre-Burnley in explaining to us that DCL is out and will be for at least 2-3 weeks with toe (and potentially other) problems, then we decided that we’ll take that as gospel (more fool us?) and with our one free transfer, we were after a forward replacement for this week (and short/medium term). The rest of our side is in pretty good condition so we are afforded the luxury of a straight swap.

Antonio is to be benched. Although it wasn’t openly discussed in full, it was taken as read that we’ll back the West Ham striker to come back in in time for Leeds and Brentford. Noice.

Bamford was suggested by one of the team and this was quickly seconded, thirded and fourth-ded (?). In comes Paddy lad and as a consequence we now have more Leeds than the Kaiser Chiefs!

To confirm then we have SOLD DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN and BOUGHT PATRICK BAMFORD

Captain – MOHAMED SALAH

Salah hoovered up the early votes and was never likely to be realistically challenged this week. As for vice, our resident United fan doesn’t like the Red Devils’ chances this weekend (not in those exact words but stuff it! … I’m shaming him!) and he voted for Bamford. Everyone else realises that should the worst happen to Salah, CR7 is the sensible VC choice.

  1. Hi all, if you had to go with one on a WC do you prefer Jota or Torres?

    • I think I would go Jota Colriles.

Even if he doesn’t start, he is usually used off the bench. Torres has more competition for his place and a total rest isn’t a complete unusual event at City.

    • Torres for City cover.

    • I’d go Jota, since he is nailed for this game. Both can blank or go ahead and score a brace, but I think Jota has more potential for an assist.

  2. Guys I think this is me now, am I missing anything obvious?

    • Team

    • The sooner this deadline passes the better acute

      You’re a nervous wreck man!

If you want the big four, you have to sacrifice (as I’ve found out). But I don’t see much wrong with that squad. May even see Scarlett getting some minutes on Sunday as Spurs could be down a few forwards.

      • laugh not at all, I’ve just spent far too much time thinking about this wc. team. Let’s hope it pays off now. Good luck everyone and cheers.

    • Is that exact money? Can you upgrade Doucoure at all?

      • No bud, that’s it.

    • Your pioneering work on balancing a side with 4 premiums is worthy of the Nobel Prize.

The moment of inspiration – moving from three defenders to four – will be the stuff of legend. You need to add to the legend. ‘Yeah that came to me while I was performing brain surgery – something about the patient’s Corpus callosum made me realise I could keep Shaw and not have to compromise on Lukaku. My associate surgeons burst into tearful applause.’

      • Lol lol, brilliant.

  3. Hi all, given this is how my team is looking heading into GW5, I have the funds to bring in Bamford for Toney or would you look to move on Ayling for someone like Marçal for instance? Looking at this team now I’m probably very light up front this week and should do something to remedy that.

    Feedback appreciated as always.

  4. I don’t have any exciting ideas atm, so I could use some help. I have 1 FT, 0.3 M ITB and will (most likely) use my WC in GW8, so I am looking for short term moves.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

    • Toney the weak link there, you could do worse than bringing ASM in.Think you can just about afford him. His numbers so far:

      • This isn’t a bad call at all.

That or Antonio to Bamford or Jimenez.

        • I want to keep Antonio for another 2 weeks, otherwise both Jimmy and Bam are on my watchlist. Even considering Toney and Digne go Jimmy and 4.6 def but can’t decide if it’s worth it or not.

      • Thank you specialK and GP. Oddly, I haven’t seriously considered ASM. He might be a good shout indeed, especially considering the state of Leeds def.

    • Agree with the above. Toney to Bam or ASM.

      • Cheers leeboy! I wish I could do Toney to Bam but I am way short there.

  5. Hi all

Simple A or B answer if you can help please

    A. Torres, Sarr and Shaw
    B. Raphinha, Jota and Cody

    Cheers

  6. I hate doing rush WC but didn’t have any time in the last couple of days.
Is this OK or shuld I leave it for next week?
