Tottenham 2-2 Manchester United
Super Sunday started off with a mouth watering clash as both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were looking to bounce back from disappointing results last weekend. A win was needed by both sides and they gave it a good go. It was Spurs who opened the scoring in the 18th minute as Kyle Walker cleverly blasted the ball under the jumping United wall from a free-kick after Paulinho had been fouled by Jonny Evans. It was then the turn of United’s man in form, Wayne Rooney, who poked home the equaliser in the 32nd minute after Walker made a complete mess of Phil Jones’ clearance and allowed the ball to drop at the feet of the striker. The teams went in level at the break and the match was poised for a tight second-half affair. No one would have expected Spurs second goal scorer but a moment of pure brilliance saw Sandro smash the ball into the top right corner of the United net and send the White Hart Lane faithful into raptures. Moussa Dembele was credited with the assist but it required a mazy run from Sandro to produce some space for the shot. The lead, however, was short lived as Danny Welbeck was brought down in the area by Hugo Lloris and a penalty was awarded. Up stepped Rooney again to get his second of the game and keep up his brilliant run of performances. That was how the scores remained, neither side happy with the result but a pulsating affair which could have gone either way.
Bonus Points: Rooney (3); Walker (2) Sandro (2) Dembele (2)
Hull City 3-1 Liverpool
With the news that Daniel Sturridge is out for between 6-8 weeks, the mood in the Liverpool camp was a bit sombre prior to kick off, and their day did not improve from there. An absolute shambles of a performance saw them slump to their second away defeat. Credit must be given to Hull however as the tactics of Steve Bruce were spot on. Jake Livermore opened the scoring with an ambitious effort that looped in over Simon Mignolet in the 20th minute, with David Meyler being credited with the assist. Liverpool then bounced back seven minutes later with a well worked free kick that saw Steven Gerrard curve the ball into the bottom of the Hull net. With 18mins to go, The KC Stadium went into overdrive as Meyler turned into goal scorer to notch his first goal for the Tigers. Insult was then added to injury in the 87th minute as a Tom Huddlestone shot which was clearly going wide was turned into the net by Martin Skrtel and confirmed the three points for Hull. Those fantasy managers that captained Luis Suarez would not have been happy.
Bonus Points: Meyler (3); Gerrard (2); Livermore (1)
Chelsea 3-1 Southampton
What a crazy start to this one as Southampton opened the scoring after just 13 seconds of play. It was Jay Rodriguez who latched onto a loose pass from Michael Essien to slot home past Petr Cech. A forced change then saw the injured Oscar replaced by Frank Lampard just before the half time break. Second half and it was up to two Chelsea defenders to get them on top of this game. On 55mins, Chelsea equalised through a close range headed finish by Gary Cahill after a scramble in the box, which saw Demba Ba hit the post and the rebound put in by the defender. In the scramble, Saint’s keeper Artur Boruc suffered a dislocated finger and had to be withdrawn, being replaced by Paolo Gazzaniga. Seven minutes later, a Juan Mata cross was headed home by John Terry to put the Blues into the lead, which they didn’t surrender. The game and three points were then sealed in the last minute as Demba Ba scored his first goal of the season after striking home Ramires’ ball into the box. The result takes Mourinho’s men into second place, four points behind Arsenal, though many fantasy managers will be more concerned about the injuries to Oscar and Boruc.
Bonus Points: Terry (3); Ba (3); Mata (1); Rodriguez (1)
Manchester City 3-0 Swansea
Alvero Negredo got things up and running in the 8th minute as he converted a free kick to give City the lead. That was how the score remained going into the break, although Jonathan De Guzman had a fantastic opportunity to level things up. From then onwards it was plain sailing for City and they got their second and third through Samir Nasri, rewarding fantasy managers who held onto him. The first coming from an assist from Yaya Toure and then the second to wrap up the game was provided by Pablo Zabaleta in the 77th minute. For once fantasy managers were left utterly disappointed as Sergio Aguero’s only telling contribution to fantasy managers was to pick up a yellow card.
Bonus Points: Nasri (3) ; Zabaleta (2); Yaya Toure (1)

Morning guys, how did you all do this weekend?
Morning Fergie, ended with a decent 66,big hitters let me down yesterday, how did you fare??
Hello NIN captain Kun was a disaster, had Nasri Coleman, Terry and Ramsey to make up for it. 82 for me
Nice work! Yes Aguero was a nightmare pick,Suarez whiffed too so it either way it was going bad haha.
Agreed, I got Rooney in for Remy so now I have the dream trio
Fergie – Wanted to bring him in too, couldn’t do it without hurting my defence though so had to pass it up,solid forward line.
sorry fergie but dream trio is aguero, rooney and giroud
Lucky for me I had a pile if cash so got rid of Barkley and Remy. Chuffed with my moves
Does sound like the best trio, but Roon has 4 yellows, so that can easily backfire.
Fergie
62 if I remember right. Had worse weeks.
Still well above average Gallant. All set for the quick turnaround?
Fergie
Yeah set up for tomorrow (although noone in the Palace/West Ham game).
Dropped Januzaj before his price fell last night. Shame, just wasn’t getting the points or time he might have had. Gamble didn’t pay off but I made 0.3M on him which is some comfort. Brady in in his place.
Gallant I shipped out Barkley and Remy and got Rooney and Oviedo.
Morning all. I’ve had a few too many poor weeks lately so would appreciate a bit of advice.
Current team is:
Mignolet, (Marshall)
Johnson, Mertesacker, Shaw, Vlaar, (Chester) (rotate Shaw & the Vlaar)
Özil, Mirallas, Paulinho, Oscar, (R. Morrison)
Lukaku, Benteke, Suárez
2 FT, £0m.
Thinking of Özil to Ramsey & Benteke to Rooney.
Thoughts and ideas welcome, I’m floundering a bit at the moment.
Watchful
I would agree with your mentioned moves. The rest actually looks good. Liverpool aren’t keeping clean sheets regularly so if that’s Glen Johnson, then I would consider losing Mignolet or him.
Paulinho to Cabaye would appeal to me as well.
Thanks TGP. Yeah, I did gamble and double up on Liverpool in defence. Thought with a run of games like Hull it might be worth it. :cuss: Plan on dropping Johnson for Coleman in a few weeks when Everton have a nice run of fixtures. I hadn’t thought about Cabaye, good shout.
Hi All,
So no the worst week for me, got 62 points Please RMT
I have 1.2M in the bank (for Nasri to Silva when he is back) and 1FT team is:
Mig
Dawson, Clyne, Vlaar
Nasri, Hazard, Ramsey, Ravel
Suarez C, Aguero, Rooney
Subs: Daniels, Brady, A Williams, Chester
Thanks
Shep Nasri is worth keeping. After yesterday I’m sure he will keep his place.
Watchful – Özil to Ramsey & Benteke to Rooney sounds good,Paulihno isn’t producing either so you could lose him over the coming weeks.
Cheers NIN, any suggestions for a £7m midfielder to replace Paulinho for the Xmas run in?
Watchful – Consider Cabaye,he has had his fair share of injuries though so beware of that, West Brom have an okay run so Sessengon could do well,Lallana would be another option..
NIN, with both you and TGP suggesting Cabaye he’s now top of the list for my weekend transfer. Thanks for the advice.
Watchful
No sweat.
As the lads have said Cabaye is a great choice.
Thanks FH.
Hello lads
I need your help! I want to change my defence, mainly m’biwa and boruc and would like some suggestions for replacements. Also help in general is appreciated
Boruc myhill
M’biwa gabbidon rosenior ridgewell merte
Gerrard hazard ramsey amalfitano morrison
Rooney suarez aguero
0.1itb 2 FT plz help!
What’s the thinking about Pantilimon lads? Is it fair to assume he is now the number 1 choice?
FH, he is not going to lose that job if he continues this way. But if you get him, make sure you have a back up keeper that plays. Pelligrini could give Hart a start just to keep him active. Hart needs for Pants to have a bad game or two, o regain his spot.
I’ve got Guzan so safe in that respect. I read that Vorm is having knee problems… So for the weekend I would make the change
Its coz he plays the Spoons.
