Suspension Report – Fantasy Football Tips 2014/15

[/three_fourth]As the season progresses, it’s time to start keeping an eye on the red and yellow card count for our players and transfer targets, in order to make sure we can field 11 players each week. With cup matches also playing a part with regard to suspensions, holding that transfer until later in the week can sometimes pay dividends.
In brief, any player who gets a red card during a game will receive a suspension, normally between 1 and 3 games, depending on what has done, however players also receive suspensions for yellow cards. Any player who receives 5 yellow cards up to and including 31st Dec will receive a 1 match suspension. Any player who receives 10 yellow cards up to and including the second Sunday in April will receive a 2 match suspension. Any player who receives 15 yellow cards before the end of the season will receive an automatic 3 match suspension.
The FA website is a great resource for suspension information, current suspensions can be found along with lists of all players close to suspension (currently 4 yellow cards). However it is also possible to search by team and check the amount of cards for all players in each squad, so its always worth a look before making any transfers.

[/three_fourth]Branislav Ivaonvic picked up a red card in the match against Manchester United at the weekend, but the one match suspension was served on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup so he will be free to take to the field at the weekend against QPR.
No other red cards were flashed at the weekend, however, two were shown in the midweek cup games, although only one of these will lead to a Premier League suspension. On Tuesday Federico Fernandez of Swansea picked up a red card against Liverpool, however this has subsequently been rescinded and as a result he will not miss any games. This was followed by a red card for Peter Crouch on Wednesday night and a suspension will follow. At the time of writing the length of this suspension is not yet known, nor is it known if Peter will appeal, so keep an eye on the news for more information.
Phil Bardsley of Stoke will miss this weekend’s game against West Ham, having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the cup game against Southampton, he will not be able to play until Stoke meet Spurs on 9th November.
The yellow card count is now starting to clock up for a good few players with the players below all on 4 yellow cards to date. One more yellow and a one match suspension will ensue:
Cesc Fabregas Chelsea
Jerome Williams Crystal Palace
Steven Naismith Everton
Lee Cattermole Sunderland
Craig Gardener West Brom
Winston Reid West Ham
So, in a nutshell, all we have to do is keep track of the red and yellow cards……….errrrm well no, that’s not strictly true. We also have to keep an eye on social media!
Rio Ferdinand has been handed a £25,000 fine and a three match ban, to commence with immediate effect, subject to any appeal, following a comment he made on twitter. He will now miss the three league games against Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle, and will not be free to play until 29th November against Leicester. Rio was also ordered to attend “an education programme”…………………..it would be too easy to follow this up with numerous jokes, but you know we don’t do that kind of thing, so let’s just hope he remembers to turn up!
Ready to rock.
Indeed. QPR are in for a world of hurt tomorrow!
Can’t wait!
Is available the same thing as ummmm lets say starting?
It’s not the same, but we assume he’ll start, given the time he’s had off to recover now.
Technically “available” means fit, in the squad and up for selection though, so we can’t be sure.
Nice team, James!
No injuries or suspensions is a huge sigh of relief. First time in a while that that has been the case!
Hey everyone. Well we’re a quarter of the way in now so thought it’s a good to to quickly plug the fixture tracker again. Remember it’s fully interactive so you can personally customise it from GW to GW as and when you see fit. For example I have already moved Liverpool from rank 1 to rank 2, Villa temporarily up to 3 before being returned promptly to 4 (!), Palace down to 3, Southampton up to 2, and Spurs down to 3. This has VASTLY changed the outlook of the coordinating colours on the Fixtures tab, so I’d urge you to give it a quick update in your own personal copies.
Hopefully you saved it already, but if you didn’t and you’re interested then copy and paste this url into your address bar: https://fantasyfootball247.co.uk/fixture-tracker-fantasy-premier-league-2014-15/
One final quick tip: after a GW is over, right-click on its corresponding column letter and select ‘hide column’, so that you have the immediate upcoming fixtures next to the team names Hope this all helps a bit, and please spread the word!
Calvin
Well worth the reminder or the shameless plug because it is an excellent piece of work from your good self.
Thank you
Rate my team please.
Next week doing:
Silva –> Diame
Welbeck –> Costa
Good team.
Respect
Good team, nice plan.
Respect1987,
A small point. I think Naughton will start over Dier Sunday. Are you sure about Taylor over Chester as your first sub? Everton leaks goals, but they also score-and are improving. Good luck, whichever.
thanks for a tip 😉
ZOMG, love the fact I can buy Costa right back. Sold him at 11.1m and now he’s 10.8m, made 0.3m on in so I’ve lost no money on him. 0.3m SV in the bag.
Like Falcao and I’ll get him soonish but using a FT to get Costa versus Chelsea is just too big a temptation.
Costa back is sort of bad news for Hazard owners and good news for Fabregas owners. Think FabCos will steal the show again.
Lol @ Di Maria going down tonight. Some FPL manages truly have no idea what they’re doing.
Raz,
Me it would seem – I traded him this week for Sanchez.
Makes no sense. Let me see your rank. Ii, top ask even. That’s just crazy.
Fixture proof and workloads. Ii, ii, ii. And it’s not as if mummy United have sucked in attacking, just @ defending. But the main reason they sucked at defending is because they haven’t used the same defenders for 2 consecutive matches in a row. Too many injuries.
I’m swapping Falcao with Costa but I’ll get Falcao back later though. When Costa is on the surgery table.
Raz,
I have a plan to buy back ADM in due course. I always have a back-up.
TGP – Your team is different to Raz’s, so you’re doomed, doomed i tells ya 😉 :hippo:
@ NiN
Hahahahaha, looks a bit like my ex. Except less hairy.
Chambers in for Chester still my best bet?
EBC,
Very impressive squad. Yep that move makes perfect sense to me.
