Photo 02-01-2014 11 40 06With less than nine days to go and counting until the next deadline we all have plenty of thinking and tinkering time left… The January Wildcard is now available should you feel inclined to use it. Will you activate it immediately, possibly with a view to maximising your team value or will you wait until the transfer window has shut and judge what impact that has had, if any? Whichever you decide is the best strategy for you ahead of the next game-week we welcome your questions and also your advice to others. Please feel free as ever to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW21 and offer their thoughts and suggestions please post it below or link it and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may be constructive but we can’t promise anything!

Hey all, just making absolutely sure before hitting WC! I can make changes and hit ‘confirm’ as many times as possible before this gw’s deadline?

Evening Lads, had a few injuries so playing WC

    Szczesny (Davis)
    Mertz, Kolarov, Baines (Bardsley) (Shaw)
    Silva, Eriksen, Wally, Lallana (Barkley)
    Suarez, Ade (c), Lukaku

Please take a look and any advice will be a great help smile
Good luck to everyone using their WC this week smile

Nothing in the kitty unless i downgrade Kolarov maybe? I like picking a captain playing at home and looking for a differential – everyone gonna captain Suarez and Ade is on fire at the mo and hopefully will be at home against Crystal Palace. Still time to ponder that though lol

oh yeah true, palace at home looks good. are you looking to get aguero in when he comes back? will be about 2 weeks or so. if so you will want to free up cash, looking at it now you will hav to do a couple of moves if you wanna get him in without loosing suarez.

      • MadHatter says:

Yeah may downgrade Kolarov to Chester which free’s up 1.4m and give myself some wiggle room

        • hazardeden10 says:

ok seems good, also mert—-> sagna/ koscielny would free up some cash smile looks a strong team though. im not necessarily keen on erkisen, but he does have a good fixture this week. he hasnt really done much apart from last week, id recommend lallana but you already have him, so maybe cabaye (tough fixture this week, but 3 good fixtures after though)

        • MadHatter says:

Eriksen not played much cos of injury but now he’s back he looks a hell of a player, takes all their free kicks and looks like Sherwood has faith in him, plus it’s a differential and everyone has Cabaye. Maybe downgrading Mertz is a good idea but i like a defender who can score and he is a giant and will score from corners regularly.

        • hazardeden10 says:

yeah true, i agree eriksen looked good last week. would be good if it pays off. i had eriksen for the 1st few weeks and got nothing -_-

    evening gents

i’ve 2 FTs, and am not wildcarding yet. no need…

    so, am considering trading:

    1. lukaku for jRod and using the cash to swap Baker (villa) for someone better.

    considering

    A. Sagna
    B. Kos
    C. ?

    or Bardsley to
    D. Terry
    E. Evra
    F. Kompany

It’s only for a few weeks as i have my WC to play.

    leaning towards A.

    Whatcha think?

(team linked. solid ranking so not looking to take any risks!)

      James101 says:

the alternative is to get gerrard in somehow.

      that tempts too tbh.

would mean switcing to a power 5 in midfield

      losing rooney i guess.

i could then grab jrod still

or go very cheap and use the extra cash in defence now or later.

      baines…?

      i like ozil too!

yep, kind of undecided right now…

      HL says:

      Evening James…
      option 1) +
Sagna or Kosc would be fine for ur team…
Toss a coin and make a choice on those 2…(I’d say Kosc but seems Sagna is a popular choice nowadays)…

      • James101 says:

        Thanks mate

Yep. Kos is going up tonight I guess so may grab him. Though Sagna is better in offence…

        • HL says:

Ahhh…though the same and am now loosing the bet with Mito…
          I think I ll give up on Sagna… 😉

        • James101 says:

          ha

          what was the bet?

they have identical points over the season (70 if i remember right) buyt koz has way higher ownership

sagna can score / assist. kos could, but less likely.

only a 2 or 3 week punt though. or that’s the theory!

          and lukaku to jrod? good?

        • HL says:

Bet was on Mert vs Sagna… :/
          Ahhh…don’t ask… : )

      • James101 says:

Best to hold off until after the weekend?

I’m assuming those two will rise…

        Jrod too…

        • For all of the mention of how much Kompany improves City’s defence, they only have one clean sheet with him starting all season and that was in the first game which he did not finish. Their style is too wide open and I rather have Zabaleta in that particular case, since he is encouraged to go forward. Pelligrini would rather beat you 5-2 than 1-0, I have known him for 20 years and it has always been his style. Terry is too expensive and when compared to The Arsenal guys is not good value. Evra falls in the same category as Terry. Don’t let their total scores fool you, Sagna and Kos would be right up there with Evra & Terry if the minutes were equal ( injuries ) so that means it comes down to one of the Gooners. The difference is negligible, they get the same points about the same BPS, so i say go for the cheaper one or the one you have a gut feeling about of the two.

        • James101 says:

          cheers Mito

          honestly, not much in it

sagna maybe edges it on attacking threat

and is owned by less too

so i guess i’ll keep an eye on rises in price and buy him late as pos

      NIN says:

Howdy James, you already have Mertesacker so i wouldn’t bring in another Arsenal defender,Norwich at home is a great game for Everton too,you sure this is the week to ditch Lukaku? If so then Rodriguez is the shout i think,Terry/Kompany as replacement defender for me,United are all over the place.

      • James101 says:

        and the timing?

        wait until after the weekend?

        • NIN says:

James – Unless price drops/rises really screw up your plan then yeah, hold for a bit just in case.

        • James101 says:

          that’s what i’m thinking.

          cheers NIN

        • HL says:

I agree – you have a good team and good TV – so I would simply wait…
People are activating their WC’s cause their teams are a ship wreck like mine is…
Or to somehow make some profit/on price increases…

You – you have both ( a good team & good TV) – so I would play “the waiting game” if I was you…make your moves only when you need to.. 😉

    Tekno-kun says:

    Hello dudes and dudettes…

    Krul
    Coleman – Evra – Shaw
    Silva – Cabaye – Hazard – Walcott(C)
Suarez (VC) – Lukaku – Rooney
Harper; Burner – Ki – Gabbidon
    1 FT, 0.0 itb

There are primarily two transfers I’m looking at:
    Evra -> Koscielny
    and
    Lukaku -> Adebayor.
The only thing that’s preventing me from doing one of these is Evra’s and Ade’s opponents; Evra faces Swansea at home (Kos plays Villa away) and Lukaku plays Norwich at home (Ade faces Palace at home). These easy fixtures makes a little reluctant to transfer any of them out, though United have conceded against easy opposition before and Lukaku have also failed to get points against easy opposition as well…
    Thoughts?

      HL says:

      Hey Tekno…
As for Krul – he seems to be “doubtful” with a knock.
You may wanna keep an eye on him – but Im sure he ll be fine…
Cabaye out of the Cup Tie – also injured (though I too have him in my team – so hope he gets well)…
On the Lukaku/Ade question – I may be :cuckoo: – but I still think this “quiet phase” for Luk will soon be over…and he has a way better fixture schedule than Ade…so Lukaku for me..

      • Tekno-kun says:

Well, as Lukaku has an easier opponent than Adebayor I guess I can give him one more week, but if Ade outscores him again, he’s out.
What about the Evra -> Kos transfer though? If both Krul and Cabaye are fit, should I go through with it or wait?

        • HL says:

Tekno – both ARS & UTD have some good fixtures coming up…
Probably the best from all teams..
So it gets down to who you trust more defensively as a team/unit…
This year it is Ars for me – so Kosc…for me at least…

Hey guys, any ideas on how to save 1.9M on this team?

    Speroni/Mannone
    Koscielny/Chester/Coleman/Turner/Clyne
    Walcott/Oscar/Livermore/Silva/Mutch
    Suárez/Rooney/Rodriguez

    Thanks
