Photo 02-01-2014 11 40 06With less than nine days to go and counting until the next deadline we all have plenty of thinking and tinkering time left… The January Wildcard is now available should you feel inclined to use it. Will you activate it immediately, possibly with a view to maximising your team value or will you wait until the transfer window has shut and judge what impact that has had, if any? Whichever you decide is the best strategy for you ahead of the next game-week we welcome your questions and also your advice to others. Please feel free as ever to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW21 and offer their thoughts and suggestions please post it below or link it and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may be constructive but we can’t promise anything!

Is this a decent wc team?
    Current team is:
    Howard (Marshall)
    Terry Coleman Chester (Turner, Flanagan)
Walcott Hazard Nolan (Ramsey, R. Morrison)
    Lukaku Suarez Rooney

I want to switch it to:
McGregor (Speroni) Cheap goalies allowing me to beef up other things
Sagna Coleman Chester (Turner, Gabbidon) As you can see I’ve gone for cheaper defenders to beef up mf
    Hazard Walcott Silva Gerrard (Mutch)
    Suarez Rooney Rodriguez

A lot of it boils down to whether I should take Lukaku away cos my plans only work if I switch him to J.Rod, but everton have really good fixtures coming up. If I keep Lukaku, then im on -2.1m so if anyone is willing to try to find away to somehow keep him in and make my squad better, be my guest haha <3
This team also doesn't let me get in aguero with my wc, so im confused..its kind of my first draft so I'm not expecting it to be anywhere close to perfect

I’m not sure I’d want to double up on Hull in the back with McGregor and Chester. Hull’s next 5 home games are against Chelsea, Tottenham, Southampton, Newcastle, and Man City. I’m going to keep Chester in my WC team, but I’m looking at other budget keepers besides McGregor. I have a feeling they aren’t going to do as well at home in the second half of the season.

Hull and Palace also have a good rotation over next few weeks so you could alternate keepers for the team that is at home. That is my plan with Palace and Hull Defenders. also Sunderland and Cardiff also rotate over next few weeks.

    Hi guys,

my latest wc team below for feedback please

Do ye thing Davis is nailed until Boruc is back? He and McGregor do not rotate until a few weeks time and Southampton fixtures mean I would be playing Davis most of the time.

Coleman is more a placeholder – not sure who I want there and at what price

Want to leave money for Rooney to Aguero.

Not seeing better options than Lukaku.

    McGregor, Davis
    Coleman, Merte, Chester,Brown,Ward
Silva, Lallana, Walcott, Hazard, Johnson (Norwich)
    Rooney, Suarez, Lukaku

Palace and Hull rotate well, as do Cardiff and Sunderland. Look at their keepers and defenders over next few weeks.

Again no team should be without Kun, especially after using wildcard.

      • TheDreamers says:

thanks busby. I have 3 defenders from those 4 teams. Is there someone specific from Cardiff you would replace in defence or keepers?

Mannone has been in great form, but he was 2nd choice before Westwood injury.

        • busbybabes says:

My plan over next 6 gameweeks approx is to have Marshall in goal rotating with Mannone. Rotate very well for number of weeks. To have chester and gabbidon also rotating. bar this week when hull and palace have tough fixtures they rotate very week with nice fixs, they do play each other in two to three weeks though. after about 6 games rotation wont happen anymore in some cases so you will nee to readjust then. But for next 5/6 weeks the above is my plan.

One thing I have learned this season over most, you don’t do good in this by having the best players all year, you do good by having the best players when they are doing good for 5/6 weeks, obv exceptions like suarez and augero but for cheap players like the hull’s and crystal palaces of this world.

don’t use your WC until kun is fit and back and work your team around him.

my wc is in play already – got trigger happy – whats your thoughts re Davis?

      The B says:

Would only appreciate Davis there if you would not mind wasting a transfer when Boruc is back.
Also dont like 2 from Hull. I currently hold both McGregor and Chester and you have no idea what a nightmare it is when both have tough fixtures. It puts me out of options.

Whats up on Johnson? Is he nailed?

Lukaku for further 2 GWs would be enough, but after there im looking into Bony. He is 7.3M and will start getting good opponents. If in coming 2 GWs Bony gets game time, im jumping on BonWagon. If not then my other options will be K2 or Berbs.

      • TheDreamers says:

Im thinking with those nice fixtures that taking Davis out might not be an issue.

Ya I agree re Hull. Have had them all season. Need to think that one through. Cardiff have a few tough games short term.

Johnson is simply cheap (4.4) and has played the last 7 games. Was injured I think before that.

Bony after the next 2 could be interesting. Who is K2?

    Shep says:

Hi all. Have a good new years? Ive only just recovered haha
Anyway back to thw important things…
    Howard Gazzaniga
    Distin dawson clyne ward chester
    Silva walcott hazard henderson ravel
    Suarez rooney negredo
I habe 2FT and 0.0m in the bank

Looking at using my WC late in the month…

But things need to change… think ravel and distin are the things that need to change… but for who?
Else any other ideas n thoughts?

Think Kolarov and Mutch in for Distin and Mutch is fine?

    busbybabes says:

I would stay away from Davis to be honest, try leave some money in bank to upgrade striker to kun, I would upgrade rooney to kun.

For the past few days, I’ve been doing nothing except helping my friends with their team. I had three of them joining last week. Today, I found out one has already used his wildcard (despite joining last week and having quite a balanced team). One of them benched Eden Hazard and played Caulker just before the deadline. One of them just took a 36 point hit messing around with transfers. I understand what you experts must feel like…i
