Transfer Deadline Day

It’s transfer deadline-day and one of the most exciting days of the year in the football calendar and possibly one of the most important in terms of fantasy football, as come the end of play today many PL teams will have a different outlook depending on their business on this one day. With FPL taking a mini-break due to international fixtures this is the perfect time for many to reflect on today’s happenings and decide whether any new signings are worth a punt or will impact positively on the players they already have. We kick this article off early doors and look forward to seeing it through until the deadline tonight with all of your rumours, hopes and probably lies (!) along the way. Keep us up to date on anything you hear and most importantly how you think it will affect your fantasy football team…

    • Pissed off! Checked all 3 price-change sites and Sterling wasn’t at 100% on any of them! I know they haven’t been accurate, but thought at least that was enough indication of no rise. Should have just taken him in straight away, lesson learnt, off to bed.

      • Same here. He was about 70% and still is. Well pissed. Needed that 0.1

          Going to investigate GKPs later to eradicate the double Newcastle and I’m still between Balotelli and Dier & Rooney & 4.8M defender. Like Balotelli & Dier just now.

        • GP, Looking very very good pal, I like that team mate, not sure i’d be investing mad mario though, what other options are there you are looking at? Love that you have 3 premium forwards and a balanced team, my hero! I was going to hit the WC but decided to hold fire as team starting to take shape.

          Like I mentioned Maybe Rooney instead of Balotelli but I’m wary of Man Utd just now but wary of not having them. Dilemma.

          Lots of time to work out other options not even to mention the players who will join the league today.

          You don’t have to WC that’s for sure – tremendous start mate – well done you. Think there is only 12 points between us but you are 30K places higher.

        • Cheers GP, I know thats the nature of early season; a few points can be be a lot of places! Thats actually why I like your idea of WC-ing now, even though you are doing very well, you are being proactive. Im still very tempted, was your team you got rid of very different to my current team?

          Maybe not necessary but to me, desirable at this point. I’ve explained fully in the upcoming article but basically I want to strengthen my position by bringing in a couple of very strong players, namely Ivanovic and Costa (again).

          Al you have been fabulously consistent so far! Nothing outstanding but just chugging along around 20 above average, keep that up all season and you will probably win it! And that’s even with missing out on those occasional monster hauls of 100+, crazy thought huh? Happy enough with my team I guess – don’t think a WC is justified really. Will take at least one hit this GW though. Would ask if you’re even entertaining thoughts of a WC, but I expect I know the answer and also would rather read it later smile

        • Cheers Calvin, Yer its been a bit of a surprise if I’m honest and I hadn’t realised the consistency until you just pointed it out. Despite my team doing pretty well i’m actually thinking about WC-ing to stay ahead, there are a number of players I really want. We will see and I expect it is more likely I do what you are thinking and take a few points hits towards the end of the International break. My current idea leaves me with plenty of cash so not to worked about the odd price rise. So you have ruled out the WC?

        • For the time-being aye. Yeah top 200,000 after 3GWs is perfectly fine for me, just hope those green arrows keep coming. When I play a big poker tourney I usually do the best when I have a medium stack most of the way through – when I get off to a flier and am leading the chip count I usually find a way of ballsing it up smile

          I’ll make a WC team now though and see if it’s better enough to warrant it haha.

    I’ve got 2 weeks of team value to build on, as well as new transfer on deadline day..

  5. How did Silva and Lamela look this GW?

    I want to change Mata for one of them. If I go with Lamela I can also change Ramsey to Sanchez.
