It’s transfer deadline-day and one of the most exciting days of the year in the football calendar and possibly one of the most important in terms of fantasy football, as come the end of play today many PL teams will have a different outlook depending on their business on this one day. With FPL taking a mini-break due to international fixtures this is the perfect time for many to reflect on today’s happenings and decide whether any new signings are worth a punt or will impact positively on the players they already have. We kick this article off early doors and look forward to seeing it through until the deadline tonight with all of your rumours, hopes and probably lies (!) along the way. Keep us up to date on anything you hear and most importantly how you think it will affect your fantasy football team…
Morning all,
Anyone else having issues logging into the FPL site?
Morning Kop, that’s a negative, working fine here.
Morning koppster. All good down under.
Morning Kop,
Sites all good with me at the moment.
Woops…where’s the delete button when you need it?
Hmmm…every time I put in my password it tells me that there’s an issue with the ‘website’s security certificate’.
Any suggestions?
Kop,
Me too. I hit ‘proceed anyway’ and it brings me in.
I get the same thing on Chrome, it suggests you don’t enter due to security or something. I just pressed like “advanced” or something and then said ignore.
Have you tried turning it off and on again? 😉
I have and that didn’t work Calvin
Same here on my phone i just proceed anyway as i have anti virus. On my laptop ive also had a pop up appear a couple of times telling me that my javascript was out of date. When i clicked it to close it, it started downloading !! When i tried to open it my anti virus told me it was corrupt and a threat and removed it !!! I reported it to the barclays fantasy football website but never followed it up.
Maybe they sacked you Kop? #voteofconfidence
They’ll be hearing from the LMA if that’s the case!!
I hear Moyes is the favourite 😉
I love transfer deadline day!!!! You always get loads of stories like ‘My aunty who works at McDonalds on Liverpools High Street has just seen Lionel Messi popping in for a cheeseburger and large fries’!!!! Hahaha
What should I do? 0.5.
WC?
Thanks
racko,
Well for one thing, El-Ahmadi has just left Aston Villa for Feyenoord.
Probably don’t need to WC but how about Mata to Silva to cover Man City?
I think I’ll keep mata for this week at least. Thinking maybe Mutch and El Ahmadi to JWP and another 5.3? They can rotate each week?
Think you can get away without WCing there Racko if you aren’t adverse to taking 2 or 3 hits over the next couple of GWs. Mata out is probably a good move for now, and I’d look at replacing Mutch and Bruce too as the next highest priorities.
Argh, *averse! :manic:
So who is all Wildcarding??
BBC Sport’s Simon Stone on Radamel Falcao, who is close to a loan move to Old Trafford: “Manchester United have blown deadline day 2014 apart with this deal.
Long term it raises huge questions over the make up of Louis van Gaal’s starting line-up. It is impossible to get Falcao, Robin van Persie, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Angel Di Maria into it surely?
“Short term… where will Danny Welbeck end the day? He must know there is no place for him at Old Trafford.”
As a United fan I really hope Falcao can play centre back… Looks like we’ll be adopting a “we’ll score more than you policy” for the rest of the season.
JimBob
Tremendous signing if it happens but the team is so lop-sided, he can’t be the only signing of the day. Blind and another I’d say are needed for the back.
Well Rvp needs a knee op so you can maybe take him out of the equation if he has it.Think mata will lose his place.
Amazing how both my teams (one is my dad’s that I run) have completely different players but they both have EXACTLY 149 points. Funny how things work out.
