It’s transfer deadline-day and one of the most exciting days of the year in the football calendar and possibly one of the most important in terms of fantasy football, as come the end of play today many PL teams will have a different outlook depending on their business on this one day. With FPL taking a mini-break due to international fixtures this is the perfect time for many to reflect on today’s happenings and decide whether any new signings are worth a punt or will impact positively on the players they already have. We kick this article off early doors and look forward to seeing it through until the deadline tonight with all of your rumours, hopes and probably lies (!) along the way. Keep us up to date on anything you hear and most importantly how you think it will affect your fantasy football team…
I’m looking forward to today’s business! Hopefully it won’t tempt me to wildcard…
I got 53 points this week… but, with the right captaincy and starting XI it could’ve been 80 points, which is really disappointing. Ah well, what can you do, on to the next one!
How’s everyone this morning?
James – if Pigs had wings they would fly !
Truer words were never spoken.
Think I should WC?
How many FTs and any cash in the bank? No Chelsea coverage is a sin.
1 Ft and 0.5. Was thinking an 8 point hit.
El Ahmadi, Mata and Mutch to JWP, Cesc and Another 5m player who can rotate with JWP?
Fabregas sounds a good idea, but it El Ahmadi out essential?
I know he’s left Villa but it gives you limited funds and he’s only bench fodder… wait until today because it seems you might want to take Mata out!
So yeah, an 8pt should go a long way, but it’ll take some thought. Review things after the international break as a lot can happen.
The last 2 weeks of MLS fantasy football have shown me just how important WC’s are when the DGW’s come along to be able to get the most out of them.
Reminds me of the year United, Liverpool and Arsenal all had the same DGW and the top score was around 180 points – Rooney got 32, Fabregas got 24 and even Dirk Kuyt snuck into the dream team. 1 FT for that week just wouldn’t have been enough.
I’m determined to keep hold of mine. Planned on using it early but now I don’t think so. However, if I need it then I won’t hesitate to use it, as I don’t plan on suffering for weeks just for a potential DGW haul later on…
james,
Had mine all planned for GW3…there’s just no need to use it at the moment though. Like you, I won’t religiously hold onto it for a DGW but it makes me more reluctant to use it in the near future unless my team all goes to pot.
After a good gw i moved up a bit in Pottys 10 months 10 prizes league, i can see 5 teams (including Veer and Gallant) are tied on 181 pts just above me, it’s tight near the top!
Nice to see all of you making an effort down there
haha i see you’re the early front runner, cracking score to break 200 pts after 3 gws
I did the same 2 seasons ago…followed by 10 consecutive red arrows down to 100k.
I’d much rather be chasing than defending the lead!
Mr B – you are a cheeky bugger !! – just wait for a few GW’s
Musungu, gonna make the most of these 2 weeks at the top before I fade into the darkness by October.
Mr B – Ok see you there
Hey bean, I see I’m second next to you. But ummm since it’s the next month haven’t you just won it?
Raz,
I think so, but as Potty is away I haven’t a clue whats going on!
Is it leader at the end of each month or leader of each individual month?
I’d imagine its the leader of each individual month so i’d say it’s yours this month Mr Bean.
I’m sure Potty will confirm on his return.
I feel so sorry for the guy coming in second…
(———– ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (not one of those 181 points, the 188 points biches :P).
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will spend the final few hours of the transfer window in Rome… refereeing a charity match !
WOw, Arsenal really missed out on Falcao… United not even playing CL and still the big player goes there… 😉
Official United formation vs QPR…
