Trends to follow in the Premier League run-in

When you pick an FPL side, you probably have your own way of going about it. Many of us will look for bargains and get as many decent players for low prices as possible to ensure we have the cash to splash on a number of guaranteed points-scorers. Others will just make sure they get Erling Haaland and will get the best ten other players they can with whatever change is left. It’s anyone’s guess what the best way of going is – after all, there will have been plenty of people who picked Cristiano Ronaldo before the season started, and also picked him for their World Cup teams to compound the error.

As the season takes a turn toward the finish line, there is still a lot to play for. Arguably, after the shaky mid-February that Arsenal have had, there is more to play for than ever. And this is going to impact how people set up their fantasy sides in the time there is left. Even the most experienced bettors are turning up to casinononaams.casino and realising that they really don’t know what is going to happen next. But there are some things well worth bearing in mind as the season’s end draws nearer.

Don’t pick too many Chelsea players

One reason not to take too many of your signings from the Kings Road is that they’re not scoring enough and are also keeping very few clean sheets. Another, more pressing reason is that they might not get in the side two weeks running. Todd Boehly’s decision to back Graham Potter suggests that he knows it would be ridiculous to cut loose a manager who’s been successful everywhere else. His decision to sign every player he claps eyes on suggests that he has no idea how important stability is to a team. There’s no point rearranging your fantasy side to make sure you can afford Mykhailo Mudryk when, even if he does get a run of games, he isn’t going to know who’s playing with him from week to week.

Don’t be drawn in by talk of a Man U challenge

Another recent trend to pay some attention to is the increasing talk of Erik ten Hag potentially leading his team to a surprise title charge. And, yes, they are just three points behind City having played the same number of games, and just firmly ended Leicester City’s mini-resurgence. A recent home draw with Leeds, not long after a defeat at Arsenal, show why it would be unwise to pick up any Red Devil not named Marcus Rashford. Ten Hag has done brilliantly to get some real consistency out of his team and move on Ronaldo without any negative impact, but he probably needs another summer and for any takeover to be concluded swiftly – with those pieces in place, next season could be theirs.

Buy Tottenham (while Conte’s away)

This isn’t to suggest that Antonio Conte is anything less than an elite coach: his success in the game is too sustained for it to be otherwise. But Spurs seem like a calmer team without him on the sideline. He’s now taking a bit more time to recover from surgery and in his absence, Cristian Stellini is getting a much calmer set of performances out of the team. Not only that, their next Premier League outing is a home game with Chelsea, which is a chance to take advantage of a team that doesn’t know its own identity right now.
