UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 GW3
The one with Russ…
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 GW3. Who or what is a ‘Russ’, you may well ask. Well, to continue our recent theme of nostaglia for 80’s/90’s sitcoms Russ featured briefly in Friends and so Russ is our poster boy for CL GW’s 3 & 4 because Russ is a mirror image of Ross, and faces up to him a couple of times, with hilarious consequences. Why is this even relevant? Well it’s because GW’s 3 & 4 cross paths in a similar fashion, namely that they are a mirror of each other. If the relevance of that hasn’t sunk in yet we shall expand further shortly and we will also cover the main points of order for the week ahead, the fixtures themselves and how the league table looks right now, as in in our ‘Regs’ one…
Housekeeping GW3
The main points to consider this week are as follows;
-
- Transfers
You get two free transfers each week and this one is no different. You can choose to carry one over should you wish, but you will never get more than three in any GW, which means that you should have somewhere between 2 & 3 transfers for this week.
- Transfers
-
- Deadlines / Manual Subs / Captain Switches
There are two, essentially. The first and main one is at kick off on Tuesday which is 5.55pm UK time. You will get to see the line-ups of 4 teams prior to it (Shakhtar, D. Zagreb, Atletico & Bayer Leverkusen).
- Deadlines / Manual Subs / Captain Switches
The second is on Wednesday at the same time. This is the one before which you can change your team around, bring in your subs manually and also change your captain to a Wednesday player, if you so wish.
When setting your team up just make sure that all of your ‘Tuesday’ players are on the pitch to begin with, you can then bring your ‘Wednesday’ guys in prior to 5.55pm on that day. Likewise with your captain.
The Russ point…
This juncture is often a good time to deploy your wildcard, or at least focus those 2/3 transfers wisely. The back to back thing means that if you have a few giants playing a few minnows then perhaps now is the time to max out on that. The timing is good too as no groups will have been decided yet so the risk of any major rotation is minimal. The fixture trackers below should be visual enough to pick those particular match-ups out but just in case we would suggest perhaps looking at the likes of Man City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Spurs, Barca and Liverpool.
The Game Itself and the FF247 League Codes
You can access the game here – Fantasy Champions League
We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are about 800 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!
Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.
We did ask that people respected the purpose and integrity of this one; that is to say that you should only enter it if you consider yourself to be a Regular Community member on here. But this was unfortunately not adhered to. The phrase ‘this is why we can’t have nice things’ springs to mind. As a result we have booted about 50 people out of it who we do not recognise. If you find yourself suspended and feel you shouldn’t be then please just say so in the comments below and we shall happily reinstate you.

***NEW ARTICLE- CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CHAT GW3***
After disappointing millions of FPL managers last Saturday let’s hope Kun find a hattrick tomorrow night :good2:
No idea what to do with the 3 FT :scratch_one-s_head:
Felix seems to be our for 3 weeks so I would swap him out.
Thanks for that Coys. Unfortunately I missed the train and started the whole thing with an auto complete team which left me with no other choice but to use the WC in the last round. The LWC is another option but not sure if it’s the right time.
Yeah that sucks and I guess you really have to plan it carefully now. Based on the fixtures seems that gw3 and gw4 is the best time to use the LWC.
That’s true and I might consider it but after the mess up it’s the only booster left to rely on.
Team not that bad Ivan. Dilva…is he going to play? I have him too. Maybe out for Di Maria. Juve are home to Dino Mosc.
Please take a look at my team below? Would like your take on it.
#5
Thank Bees :hi:
No idea about Dilva. In the meantime what is going on with Bilva? Someone mentioned that his hearing was suppose to be today. The eventual suspension and the length of it might impact FPL and UCL.
I have not heard a thing re Bilva. Ugh…another bad EPL week this week for me. How was yours?
Hey…please give me your take on my team below? Question #5.
Thanks and all the best Ivan!
What do you think of Gnabry? Maybe good to bring in some attack from Bayern…
Yeah, that’s a good idea. I haven’t made any moves yet as hopefully tomorrow we’ll have a better idea who is going to play and who not.
Thanks Init for this section for CL! Really considering to hit the WC this week with Salah and Sterling uncertain to start and Sule now our for long-term. On the other hand I’m also planning to use the limitless on gw4 so not sure if now the ideal time. Anyway here’s my team.
Do you think Lewa can have one of those nights scoring 4-5 goals, as he’s done in the past, while we are all looking at City players for the armband 😯
Yeah I will probably bring in Kun but I fear sterling might be rotated. Lewa could score big but almost everybody has him in my league.
Sule is out for at least 3 months
Yep. Just a question of whether to WC or not
Pretty sure I’ll WC myself coys, although I haven’t looked at it properly yet but the 3/4 mirror is usually too good to ignore. LWC for 6 when rotation bites?
I like the idea of LWC for 6 and I think Mito/GuySanchez mentioned this before too  How’s your WC looking like Init ? Gonna post mine below
Still not looked mate. Got the kids on my own this week so it’ll be much later, I’ll post it when I get round to it though.
I guess you need help with ur kids more than ur fantasy team
Sounds like Klopp won’t take a chance with Salah…I have him too. Probably bring in Mane. Genk concede quite a few.
Please could you take a look at my team #5? Cheers
Hey Bee, personally I would consider Salah & Sule to Mané & Matip. With the extra 0.5m you can also consider Hakimi. He seems to be playing OOP as a winger in a attacking Dortmund team.
Thinking of WC to this team and probably Gaya would be Matip. What do you guys think?
Gk should be Meret actually
Hi Coys. Noticed you changed your profile pic. Is that the next Spurs manager you think?
Hey DMC as much as JM is my 1st choice to takeover Poch if he leaves I just can’t see Levy and JM working together. I must have been watching too much of sky sports but I feel he’s been pretty spot on when commenting on Spurs tactically and something that Poch failed to react to plus he’s a serial winner. So I feel it would be a good fit but let’s see..
LOLZ. It sucks so hard I always mess up with CL stuff. Haha.
The first gameweek, I didn’t get the proper team. I just had a draft-team…. like 9 of the 15 players didn’t play. So had to wildcard in gameweek 2… but already so far behind.
Last season it was the same. I forgot a few deadlines. Still ended up first. So I am guessing I wasn’t the only one. :p
Tnx for the article guys. IT’s time to play the wildcard’s wildcard.
Thanks for the article Init!
Would like to change at least 1/2 of this team…however, what would be the best swaps?
Sule for Meunier
Salah for Mane? Genk do seem to concede a lot, but LIV did not look so hot yesterday…
Willing to take a 4ph. Keep Ronaldo or bring in Leo? Or something I am missing?
Son out for? Spurs were rubbish in last CL game.
Team looks good bees. Try Kun (C) for tomorrow, mind you, the herd will most likely go with Ronaldo.
Thanks Ivan. I am not doing so badly so far. Not quite the nightmare of EPL
Surprisingly I am doing better in FPL so far than the UCL which always has been the opposite. Of course this week was bad for most of us but better times will come I hope.
Hi guys any news on Flexi , Deepay & Messi ???
