UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 GW5

Last chance saloon
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 GW5. ‘Last chance’ may be being over dramatic but with three teams already qualified, three who definitely can’t and a whole host of the remaining spots likely to be decided this week then this may be your last chance of seeing your ‘nailed on’ first team players in meaningful CL group stage action before rotation inevitably hits in GW6.

The main purposes of this article are threefold; to remind you to do your team, to provide a separate CL space to ask for help and advice from the community (and to hopefully reciprocate in that aim) and lastly just somewhere to chat about the games as they happen; a CL Live Match Chat if you like.

Who has qualified and who can’t…

Qualified
Bayern Munich
Juventus
Paris Saint-Germain

None of the above have yet secured top spot so expect to see minimal changes.

Eliminated
Galatasaray
Genk
Lille

It’s worth noting that even though the above cannot progress in the CL all do still have a slim chance of making 3rd spot and with a Europa League consolation place.

By powers of deduction we can then ascertain that the other 26 teams all still very much have something to play for.

Housekeeping GW5
The main points to consider this week are as follows;

    • Transfers
You get two free transfers each week and this one is no different. You can choose to carry one over should you wish, but you will never get more than three in any GW, which means that you should have somewhere between 2 & 3 transfers for this week.
    • Deadlines / Manual Subs / Captain Switches
There are two, essentially. The first and main one is at kick off on Tuesday which is 5.55pm UK time. You will get to see the line-ups of 4 teams prior to it (Galatasaray, Brugge, Lokomotiv and Leverkusen).

The second is on Wednesday at the same time. This is the one before which you can change your team around, bring in your subs manually and also change your captain to a Wednesday player, if you so wish.

When setting your team up just make sure that all of your ‘Tuesday’ players are on the pitch to begin with, you can then bring your ‘Wednesday’ guys in prior to 5.55pm on that day. Likewise with your captain.

The Game Itself and the FF247 League Codes

You can access the game here – Fantasy Champions League

We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are about 800 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!

Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.

We did ask that people respected the purpose and integrity of this one; that is to say that you should only enter it if you consider yourself to be a Regular Community member on here. But this was unfortunately not adhered to. The phrase ‘this is why we can’t have nice things’ springs to mind. As a result we have booted about 50 people out of it who we do not recognise. If you find yourself suspended and feel you shouldn’t be then please just say so in the comments below and we shall happily reinstate you.

Have put in 3FT but have not pushed the button yet. Have 1mib. Who plays what day not sorted yet.
Anything you would change in the way of players?
    All the best everyone!

Thinking to bring a Spurs player as well but who knows what the special one has on his mind. They can afford even to lose that game and providing that Bayern win theirs still will go through to the last 16. The same goes for City, any win will see them through and this won’t be difficult against Shakhtar who lost 6-0 last year in the same fixture :scratch_one-s_head:

Hi Ivan, I just brought in Son. He seems to be always involved with the goals. How much money do you have ib? Maybe Panjic out?
I can’t believe I have no one from Barca. Love them but don’t trust them right now. Although Leo can usually come up with something. How do you think Bayern will do?
What do you think of my team above #2?
      Cheers!

You may want to bring in another Ajax player. Their next to match ups are great. smile

      • Hi Bee. Well, Messi hasn’t return what everyone would have expected and not impressed with De Jong. The only one you can rely on is Stegen, if not a CS he always gets points for saves. Ajax is a good call but Tadic has not been himself this season either.
Your team looks well set. Not sure what is wrong with Haaland, marked as doubtful again.

        • Nothing ITB and only 2 FT, not much room for moves sad

Promes (Ajax) is only 7m…he is really good.
Also Orsic (Dinamo Z) 6.2 is excellent or Sabitzer (Leipzig) 6.5 .
Will have to keep my eye on Haaland tomorrow.
Currently have Mbappe, but not so keen on him vs RM…he was injured so was not doing so good. Don’t know who else to go for.

        • Yep, I want Promes but the only way is to get rid of Gnabry or Mane. The other option is to take out Ota who most likely won’t play for 4.0 non playing defender and turn Pjanic to Promes with the 1.5. Will make final decision tomorrow

Ajax have several 4.5 defs…if you have the funds.

Muslera injured, and I only have Meret playing agains LIV…worth a hit? Think it may be better to take a 2pt loss?

    Hi gents,
Facing bit of dilemma this week with either to cover my ML or go for differentials. Not having Sterling last round really hurt especially with few captained him while I had Mahrez.

So, Should I swap Mahrez and Di Maria

    1. for Sterling and Sabitzer
    2. Son & Ziyech
    3. Other good combo with max 17.6m
