UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!.
Right then, forget that Scottish nonsense, real football is back on Friday! (In fairness it’s doing a roaring trade and has attracted over 400 comments as we speak). But come on you CL’ers, time to stand up, do us proud and put that particular Scotch Egg back in its basket (and no, I don’t mean GP).
We begin again on Friday and essentially we pick up where we left off way back in March. But it’s a bit weird as we are basically half way through the 2nd part of the last 16. Four of the quarter finalists are already decided, the other four are still to be decided as those eight teams need to complete their 2nd legs of the original ties. And only then can we move on onto the rest of the tournament. And you yourselves will have been left in limbo, half-way between rounds with subs next on the agenda. Confused yet? Don’t worry, we got you..
So what do you really need to know this week…
It’s as you were…
It looks like the game is literally restarting where we left off. There are no extra transfers, no wildcard or unlimited transfers as per FPL. Essentially we were part way through a GW and so you just have to crack on as if the last 5 months never happened, which a lot of us wish hadn’t, ironically.
In theory you should find your team with points from the completed first half of the last 16, ready for you to bring in any manual subs for the final four games, a bit like this:
That’s mine, and so it looks like I’m all set to bring in a few bench players to replace my lower scorers. You should find yourselves with something similar.
The Fixtures and Subs
Which brings us on to the fixtures as these games are still split over two days, as follows:
And we can still make changes between the two, so in my example above I’ll initially be subbing in my Juve guys before Friday’s deadline and then I can bring in Gnabry on Saturday, if necessary.
Captain
Suffice to say I won’t be touching my captain but if you weren’t so lucky to have put it on the legend that is IIicic then you can move it before Friday and then again on Saturday if necessary.
Deadline(s)
The main one is the first one of course which is Friday 7th August at 8pm GMT. Which is kick off time too so you will at least have the benefit of seeing the team sheets for all of Juve, Lyon, Man City and Real Madrid. Your subs will need to be done by then.
The next one is Saturday 8th August again at 8pm.
Beyond that?
You then get unlimited transfers once again ahead of the quarter-finals, 5 for the semis and 5 for the final itself.
Those games themselves are schedulded as follows:
Quarters
12th August Atalanta v PSG
13th August RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid
14th August Napoli / Barca v Chelsea / Bayern
15th August Real Madrid / Man City v Lyon / Juve
Semis
18th August
19th August
Final
23rd August

We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are over 1000 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!
Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.

The Top 10 as we stand…
(Apologies for it clearly being my screenshot and not a neutral one but DMC usually provides that and he had the temerity to step into the top 10 this time and therefore couldn’t provide one. I did ask Elle to do so but he sent me something akin to a screenshot of Space Invaders from his Amstrad).
Should be fairly straight-forward this week but if you have any queries just post them in the comments below and as always ask questions, post teams and generally just have a good natter…
Well, deserved win for Leipzig. They were the slightly better team in what was a dull game.
Looked like it was going to be last night all over again with the bad guys emerging en-masse at the end ala Return of The Jedi. Only this time Leipzig had a Luke.
They should now be able to beat a very poor PSG team. And then be fodder in the final! Hopefully for City.
As much I hope it won’t happen, have those sneaky feelings that City will trip badly with one of their ridiculous mistakes and will not see the semis. Sincerely hope I am wrong
Oh no Ivan….fingers crossed all goes well for them.
How is your week going? Mine is brilliant with 6 players with 6 pts.
Very much hope so.
I am on 34 but that includes captain Sabitzer which will definitely be changed with upcoming Lewa and then the City boys.
I hope somebody smashes City! Unfortunately, I fear that won’t happen…
I can easily see them losing narrowly in the semi to one of those two but getting smashed may be a stretch of wishful thinking on your part
I always support whoever is left from England but it helps that I like the way City / Pep play.
Hopefully they get PSG ( ) in the final…. :butcher:
Tbh I have little interest in the CL. I’ve watched about 5 minutes of the two quarters combined
You’ve not missed much!
Other than PSG being an absolute disgrace to football
Atleti aren’t the Atleti of old for sure. Congrats to the owners of Olmo, Joao Felix, Sabitzer, Angelina and the young American Tyler Adams (anyone have him?). Bayern-Barca and City-Lyon next: what we’ve all been waiting for. Let’s hope they live up to the hype. I bet it’ll prolly be narrow margins.
Somewhat worrying news as Barca’s Umtiti tests positive for Covid (at home isolating): https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/football/first-team/news/1753673/umtiti-tests-positive-for-covid-19?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=fcbarcelona&utm_campaign=53b3b573-b1c7-4386-a036-4174cc92735e#
Messi vs Bayern
Captain Lewandovski with a hatty :bravo:
Four away goals for Bayern. Amazing.
Bayern 4 up and only an assist for Lewa. He will be up to something in the second half
Should have captained Ter Stegen, looks like he’s out for some sort of record for assists for Bayern.
He was in my team before this round from day one. Don’t know what possessed me to remove him
Can’t wait for that semi with City now, should be epic.
Hopefully PSG win theirs and one of those two will then be able to absolutely humiliate them on the biggest stage.
City-Barca will go to penalties for sure and then one of those, hopefully City will meet Leipzig in the final, which would be an interesting one as well. At least finally we are getting some proper excitement. The last two games were like Friday afternoon training sessions.
*correction*
City-Bayern
I’d like Leipzig to win their semi but I also want to see PSG embarrassed.
Barca are trying to comeback but Bayern is pushing further. Nobody knows what might happen as traditionally the last 10 minutes of UCL games go mad. They all start to run like cats on crack :laugh2:
Kimmich 10 pts, Gnabry 9 pts.
Whatever possessed me to cappo Lewy !
There you go! Barca like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off.
He just score and known to manage at least one more before the end :wink2:
