UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!.
Right then, forget that Scottish nonsense, real football is back on Friday! (In fairness it’s doing a roaring trade and has attracted over 400 comments as we speak). But come on you CL’ers, time to stand up, do us proud and put that particular Scotch Egg back in its basket (and no, I don’t mean GP).
We begin again on Friday and essentially we pick up where we left off way back in March. But it’s a bit weird as we are basically half way through the 2nd part of the last 16. Four of the quarter finalists are already decided, the other four are still to be decided as those eight teams need to complete their 2nd legs of the original ties. And only then can we move on onto the rest of the tournament. And you yourselves will have been left in limbo, half-way between rounds with subs next on the agenda. Confused yet? Don’t worry, we got you..
So what do you really need to know this week…
It’s as you were…
It looks like the game is literally restarting where we left off. There are no extra transfers, no wildcard or unlimited transfers as per FPL. Essentially we were part way through a GW and so you just have to crack on as if the last 5 months never happened, which a lot of us wish hadn’t, ironically.
In theory you should find your team with points from the completed first half of the last 16, ready for you to bring in any manual subs for the final four games, a bit like this:
That’s mine, and so it looks like I’m all set to bring in a few bench players to replace my lower scorers. You should find yourselves with something similar.
The Fixtures and Subs
Which brings us on to the fixtures as these games are still split over two days, as follows:
And we can still make changes between the two, so in my example above I’ll initially be subbing in my Juve guys before Friday’s deadline and then I can bring in Gnabry on Saturday, if necessary.
Captain
Suffice to say I won’t be touching my captain but if you weren’t so lucky to have put it on the legend that is IIicic then you can move it before Friday and then again on Saturday if necessary.
Deadline(s)
The main one is the first one of course which is Friday 7th August at 8pm GMT. Which is kick off time too so you will at least have the benefit of seeing the team sheets for all of Juve, Lyon, Man City and Real Madrid. Your subs will need to be done by then.
The next one is Saturday 8th August again at 8pm.
Beyond that?
You then get unlimited transfers once again ahead of the quarter-finals, 5 for the semis and 5 for the final itself.
Those games themselves are schedulded as follows:
Quarters
12th August Atalanta v PSG
13th August RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid
14th August Napoli / Barca v Chelsea / Bayern
15th August Real Madrid / Man City v Lyon / Juve
Semis
18th August
19th August
Final
23rd August

You can access the game here – Fantasy Champions League
We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are over 1000 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!
Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.

The Top 10 as we stand…
(Apologies for it clearly being my screenshot and not a neutral one but DMC usually provides that and he had the temerity to step into the top 10 this time and therefore couldn’t provide one. I did ask Elle to do so but he sent me something akin to a screenshot of Space Invaders from his Amstrad).
Should be fairly straight-forward this week but if you have any queries just post them in the comments below and as always ask questions, post teams and generally just have a good natter…
So, what are our plans for QF?
Load up on Man City and PSG? And/or teams you think will go through.
I just put a quick team together, not that hard really once you decide who you think will go through. I just hate that the biggest favourite plays last.
I’ve gone for this as a first draft. Remember you can have up to five players per side now
ps I’ve got 0.4 left if you want to make any suggestions
Looks real good at first glance Otieno.
@Otieno, looks good. I thought about Sarabia myself but there is part of me that worries that if Mbappe is brought on earlish it will be for him. So not sure yet, still could go for him.
Not sure that Foden will start, but my guess is you already know that and feel it is worth the risk because of the possible value he could be.
I took Llorente over Partey most of the rest is pretty similar.
Atletico Madrid has two positive cases for covid, they haven’t released who it is so it could get really tricky for us.
Correa and Vrsaljko out w/ Covid for Atleti.
Anyone know if Tousart is likely to start? Looking for a cheap Mid. Cheers!
If you talking about the Lyon player, he moved to Schalke.
Idrissa Gueye of PSG is cheap and pretty sure of starting but he plays really defensive so don’t expect much more than 2pts
Thanks Mito and Otieno!
Damn shame Ilicic is out for Atalanta as he was central for them, but seems like they are still scoring w/o him. I wouldn’t be surprised if they give PSG, who haven’t played as much competitively, a good game. Re/ PSG, luckily we’ll be able to take a peep at the lineup before the deadline to see if Mbappe starts or not.
I doubt he would start.
Hmm, Icardi could be a good shout then if not going Neymar. Tough to pick one as both could do damages. Neymar on pens tho I guess that might just tip it. What do you think?
I have Neymar in my side. He is on free kicks also.
Plus Icardi and Sarabia feel like good choices but if Mbappe doesn’t start, I do wonder who he would go in for. I might get one of the two anyway. But I really like my front 3 with Ney, Lewy and Jesus.
Yeah that might be the way to go.
How important is KDB in CL? Somehow he does not seem to be getting much in the way of points…
KDB is in my team although I would prefer Sterling. When I see the PSG lineup I might go Mbappe/Sterling instead of Neymar/KDB
I have KdB and Sterling along with Jesus. :focus:
I think it is more a coincidence that he hasn’t went off in CL. It is still the same team and he is the best player on said team. I don’t really look at him any different than I do in fpl. But being able to sub out bad scores makes it easier to take chances on other players and throw money at the Ronald’s and Messis of UCL.
I will Definitely have him this gameweek as I feel he has the best fixture, unlike the previous GW.
Thanks guys. This is where I am as of now. .4mib.
Any ideas on how to improve?
Cheers!
Oops…missed the bench players…
Oblak is a definite no-no for me. He’s playing against your other choice GK so your losing a sub. Ederson could go there.
Yeah, agree with Otieno, other than that I think you good.
Great point Otieno…will change that pronto
