Weekend Watch – Fantasy Football Transfer Tips GW4
FPL expert Ben Dinnery casts his eye over the weekend results while giving his thoughts on which players should be transferred in and out on fantasy Premier League for Gameweek 4…
The Premier League continues to throw in the odd surprise scoreline. Still, patterns are beginning to emerge with some great-priced, low ownership options coming to the fore as many of the premium assets flounder.
Ones To Watch
Leeds United
Now is the time for Leeds to shine as they have five great games ahead. This will be a real test to see if they have indeed turned the corner, and Iβm excited as a Rodrigo owner.
The side were unlucky not to have scored against Brighton, and their 1.84xG shows they are still formidable in attack even against a solid defence.
Saturdayβs performance, despite the loss, has filled me with further confidence that loading up on multiple assets from the team will reap the rewards.
Jack Harrison, their chief creator, is attracting attention with an impressive three Big Chances – only De Bruyne has more – and 12 chances created (3rd). Everton, Forest, Manchester United and Aston Villa wonβt put off potential suitors.
The Good
Brighton
The Seagulls came out on top against an in-form Leeds side to take them into a Champions League qualifying spot, and their data shows they are not there by chance.
Defensively, Brighton are amongst the best in the league with the second-fewest Big Chances allowed, fifth-best shots in the box against, and the fourth-best xG conceded.
Graham Potterβs men have a great run of fixtures and look a dependable, cheap source for clean sheet points, although I am more reticent when it comes to investing in their attackers.
The Bad…
Bournemouth
The Cherries were lucky not to have conceded more goals on Saturday as their defence fell apart, and by his own admission, Scott Parker – sacked by the club on Tuesday morning – says his side are not good enough to compete in this league.
Thatβs 16 goals conceded across four fixtures, with Bournemouth sitting in the bottom three for xG conceded.
On paper, the team has the easiest set of fixtures over the next five, but their confidence is rock bottom, and rather than backing the Cherries, they should be a team to target for captaincy choices.
Brighton, Newcastle and Brentford will present some great differential options over the coming game weeks.
